Greetings everyone
I have just got a crystal ball, and tried looking into it and saw a person dressed all in grey against a grey curtain.. this is the first time i have used it, the image was helped by the lighting i had in the room at the time is this the correct way to use them?
any comments would be greatly appreciated

Sounds like it worked to me!
There is no 'correct' way to use a tool, just whatever works best for you.
However I think it is generally taught that there should be no lighting in the room, or that the light should be somewhere where it can't reflect on the ball.
Did the person move, or were they still? I'm just curious as I'm a new-scryer also, and have seen some odd things :)

the person was all in grey and trying to blend into a grey curtain, they were holding out a hand as if needing help and had their mouth wide open and looked quite upset and distressed, i kinda got the feeling this person needed a little bit of guidance.
i tried again with my crystal ball last night but could only get a light purpley mist, least thats something i suppose.

Perhaps that person was you - do you feel a tad lost, in need of some guidance?
PS - I got an obsidian ball today, which I'm looking forward to trying out! What kind do you use?

at first i was not sure if the person i saw was myself or a friend in need.but i suppose the figure in the crystal ball i saw could have been me, i have been through quite alot fairly recently.
I use the titania crystal ball in came in a box set with a book and stand. It was only £15.99, which is not to bad considering some of the prices out their, my funds are a bit limited at the moment so i could only afford the titania one. BUt i dont seem to be doing to bad so far.
I would be interested to know how much your obsidian ball cost and what dimensions it is.
It sounds like an exellent tool for scrying.

Yeah I was looking into buying one because they really appealed to me, and then I read that obsidian is the 'traditional' scrying tool so I couldn't resist
It was £40 with shipping, but it's 4.5" which is pretty big. I got it from here (http://cgi6.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewSellersOtherItems&userid=onlineartworks&include=0&since=-1&sort=3&rows=50), you could always keep an eye out. A 4" one went for about half what I paid, but I missed it by minutes
I only ask if it was you, because I imagine when we're inexperienced scryers the images we see are from our own subconscious (like dreams) rather than The Divine (though personally I believe there's a bit of a grey area where both exists as one). When I first scryed I saw a woman in white dancing through a forest and looking back I think it was me, revelling in the freedom and joy of my newfound witchdom :)
