Ever since I was 14 I have had reoccurring dreams of huge (ridiculously huge) snakes. Usually the snakes are coming after me in some way or another or I have to get passed them.
The weird thing is, I have never had a bad experience with snakes. I don’t have anything against them (or didn’t until the dreams started) now I admit they frighten me.
Does anyone have any ideas what this could mean?

Well, snakes can symbolize a varity of different things...some are positive and some are negative. Yours, from they way they are described, do not seem to really fall in either catagory. These snakes sound to me like the representations of others.
I'm wondering if your social life has been shakey, or family members or friends that you make tend to test the waters of your trust. It seems like an ongoing circumstance since you were 14...and the fact that it has troubled you so long is why these dreams reoccure.
But, there is always the possibility that it is the flip side of the situation though. Perhaps you are having trouble trusting your friends or family...you may be somewhat independent, and others may get in your way of what you wish to accomplish.
But either way, the snakes seem to symbolize people that are close to you. And in order for the dream to go away, you must understand it and accept yourself or the situation as it is...because your subconscious will continue repeat this same dream, thinking that it is an important piece of highly emotional information that you need if you do not come to terms with it. This is usually the pattern of such dreams. :hugz:

Like has been said, in some thoughts, snakes are evil... an evil embodiment... In Shaman, snakes scare evil spirits.... And perhaps, a snake is to be your spirit guide, one.... Time will tell

Just to name a few things a snkae could stand for...
Changes, betrail, fears, wisdom, power, life, cleverness, secrets, darkness, inconsciousness, death...
If dreams of snakes start in that age, very often they also stand for the development of sexuality. It is increasing, getting more or sometimes less untill the person finds a good relation to the own sexuality...
Greetings, Liliana
