Geomancy: http://www.themystica.com/mystica/articles/g/geomancy.html

Eclectic Wicca or Eclectic paganism is basically the study and incorporation of many different types of spiritual practice into one's own very personal set of practices and beliefs. For instance: Someone may enjoy the company of Diana (Greece) while also enjoying the company of Thoth (egypt) and using some Hindu prayer flags as focal points and doing yoga and writing spells in Ogham .... you get the point. ;)

Geomancy-- yes! :D I've recently become interested in Geomancy myself and did some research online and in as many books as i could find. :] [ here (http://www.princeton.edu/~ezb/geomancy/geostep.html) ] is some information on it and ONE (there are different techniques used.... another popular one utilizes Astrology) way of going about building the tableau for divination. :)

i go about it a little differently, though... instead of drawing dots in sand or on paper i use lots of riverstone pebbles to build the tableau...... because i love stones and it feels better for me lol. I do everything else preatty much like that site shows, though. :)

I use to do Geomancy readings many years ago, i tend to stick to runes and tarot now though as a geomancy reading is very time consuming, but very detailed.
geomancy is divination by earth and was practiced in africa but was called ifa there. Its simmular to the i ching in the way that you build up geomantic figures, people use to draw several dots on a piece of paper, in ifa the same thing can be done with earth or sand. each figure is made up by a number of dots, (i tended to join the dots up to make them into geomantic sigels) then put into a chart a bit like a birth chart and the astrological attributions are taken into account. Its a complicated but can be an exciting process. I have 3 books on Geomancy which are the oracle of geomancy by nigel pennick, geomancy terrestrial astrology by nigel skinner ( i think its nigel skinner nots too sure about the first name - will have to check) and omens oghams and oracles by richard webster which briefley covers geomancy in an unconvensional way.

Another good book is Earth Divination Earth Magic by John Michael Greer.

Geomancy used to be very popular in midieval Europe.

Really? Personally I find it much easier to understand that tarot or other forms of divination I've tried such as ogham.
