July 27 August 3 Second Quarter Moon
for learning purposes only; credits to Samten Williams
In Second Quarter Moon phases we expand from the nebulous phase of New Moon into a budding sense of identity, purpose, and autonomy. As we work to stand on our own this week the ground beneath may feel jagged and craggy. Navigating this terrain calls for emotional awareness and undistracted focus. This is a challenge, of course, because emotions diverge and it is hard to hold focus when exploring the web within.
Integrating water and earth elements holds the key. Water wants to dive into feelings and earth wants focus without tangents. Find a balance: use emotions to clarify and use focus to manifest. If you keep a journal, check back to October, 2000 for directional clues. You may find that you are picking up Second Quarter strengthening energy and "how-to" clarity in the advancing understanding of your life.
It is vital to take time this week for focusing. Next Monday, August 6, our Sun is in contact with the midpoints of the Galactic Center and the Super Galactic Center. Astrologer Philip Sedgwick says that this is powerful intention time, when what we think manifests easily. Try your best to take time for meditation, especially on August 6. Ground yourself through sky/heart/earth alignment and release heart's desire into the ethers.
This Monday, July 30, is an especially intense day. We deal with issues of structure, transformation, and drive, along with the possibility of disorienting haze. Overall, it looks to be an emotionally challenging week as we head into Full Moon intensity of next week. Stay steady, try to have fun, and go for awareness of the unwavering depth of support that holds you, no matter how rocky the road.
The Moon is void of course for an extended period of two days midweek; exact times are listed below.
