With the kind permission from Mudweed, I am posting this thread to further our studies of the tarot cards Mudweed has presented to us as of today.
In order to learn more about the cards, and to grow a stronger intuition with them, it may be a good idea to open our eyes to the community around us, and associate the cards to what we see. The following exercise will help us all identify with the cards, so please provide a brief description of why you associated each card to the object you choose.
I will give a brief example of each card and more or less where I would see these cards best associated: This will be very generally being that I also have to “open my eyes and see” once I get out of work :tongueout
0 - The Fool - The Park, the schools (especially Elementary School), Children,
1 - The Magician – Doctors, Lawyers, Teachers, Spiritualists
2 - The High Priestess – The Moon, Grandmother, Someone you admire and respect, guidance counselor
3 - The Empress – Maternal objects, Home, A comfortable living room, A stream
4 - The Emperor – Paternal objects, Home, a Principle, father-figure
Anything will do, this is just an exercise to familiarize ourselves deeper with the cards

I love this idea! Thx Gigi for thinking of it.
Fool--Leap of Faith, uncaring, perfect love & perfect trust. Faith that when you step off the ledge that one of two things will happen you will be given a soft place to land, or you will be able to fly.
The Magician--New beginnings, initiative required, uncertainty. Sorcerer
The High Priestess--The divine feminine, wise counsel, information reveiled. Goddess
The Empress--Mother, nuture, matriarch, joy, prosperity. Hera
The Emperor--Father, Safety, fullfilment of ambition. Zeus

I like your answers. I hope you don't mind, but I'm going to include your answers in my notes for quick reference.
I have to put my research up too; I'll try to get to it this weekend. lol

Gigi, was that what you meant for us to do? *confused* I thought I was looking for real things I encounter that relate to the cards.

Well Sorcerer, Goddess, Hera, and Zeus were associated with the cards, so I guess that was okay.
"Real things" can be so many things for different people. As long as when we look at the card, we can think "The Emperor=Zeus=Patriarch figure bingo! I know what to relate to this card" that would be good. I think it’s good to visualize through association when learning new things so it sinks in.
For example, when I see the Fool for me equal Student, Traveler, etc. I also see my daughter because she’s in the stage in her life where she throws care to the wind, and is working to be her own person. <Teen years! AAAHHHHH!! LOL>
When I look at The Emperor card I see my brother sitting at the thrown. From him I feel strength when needing to reach my goals. He also needs to get things done, but is held back by responsibilities. So for me I envision the Emperor’s meaning through him.
I'm going to be putting my answers this weekend. But anything anyone can relate to the card is good. The answers are all around us, through our pet or people or containers (of flowers, possessions, etc) or places we’ve been or seen. Egypt reminds me of Isis, reminds me of divinity, which inspires me to think of The High Priestess. Now Egypt is a source of much information, even for non-pagan communities. We rely on what we learn from Egypt’s discoveries to learn about ourselves and our history, to move into our future. Now the High Priestess inspires this in me also.
I’m rambling…. lol

Happens to the best of us. lol
That was good though because it gave us more room for thought.

My references to Zeus, Hera, Goddess, God are all based on my view of the archtype that most closely represents the card in my mind. These are strictly my associations. These are certainly influenced by my study of Carl Jung and Joseph Campbell, but they are my own associations.

Yeah, Shatril, I was just confused for a moment, in case you didn't see that bit above. :)

The Fool – See previous post
The Magician – Still working on it
The High Priestess – See previous post
The Empress – Still working on it
The Emperor – See previous post
The Hierophant – Still working on it
The Lovers – Still working on it
The Chariot – I think of astronaut’s spaceship. This takes them to very special and difficult journeys, and when they return, they are triumphant, if only for their safe return. The sphinxes I would picture by their side spiritually, bringing them to safety, even if they don’t see it.
Strength – For some reason I think of Tarzan and Jane (is it the lion maybe lol).
The Hermit – statues of our deities, or tools, for i.e., I have my quartz crystal which I use when divining. I hold it and meditate on it, to guide me and allow me wisdom. I see my family using the picture of Jesus, they turn their concentration on his statue and seek guidance, that’s another example of something I can relate to the Hermit. Some people have Buddha, and kneel before him to meditate and seek answers.
