To make a long story short, a few weeks ago I went to the doctor. I had some symptoms (including the CFS that some of you may remember) that made her want to do a head x-ray. The results were that I have a brain tumor. Only a few minutes ago did I actually come to terms with it. This entire time I seem to have been denying it. (Edit: I had even searched on the internet to make sure that the doctor had it right.) But now I know I need any help possible. We do not know yet if it's cancerous or embedded in too deep for operation or whatever. My doctor has wanted me to come in for a CAT scan to figure that out, but I keep making up excuses. I'm too scared to know, but eventually I'll have to go. The appointment has been rescheduled for Tuesday.
I guess what I'm asking for is energies of various kinds. Energies for courage to go to get the scan, energies for guidance to keep my family from knowing (as of yet), energies for the tumor itself so it becomes benign (in which case my doctor says I can just take some pills for a while to dissolve it...or we may even be able to leave it alone if it doesn't show any harm), whatever energies you can spare.
The other problem is my family doesn't know about this. Nobody does (or at least didn't until now). I really just don't want to tell them. My mom is a very worrysome sort and I fear she may actually have some sort of heart attack from the news. (And also, the last thing I need right now is a freaked out person to freak me out even more.) I really only want to tell them if I find out it is indeed going to be a problem. I mean, what's the point of worrying them if it all turns out okay? If it turns out I'll be alright, I don't think I'll be telling them. (I have been and will keep paying the doctor bills on my own through personal savings that I have, and I'll be taking public transportation of some sort to get to my appointment, so they shouldn't find out about this unless I tell them.)
Any energies would be very much appreciated.
Note: I may delete this post at some point out of fear that people will see it and try to "help" via other ways (i.e. contacting my family or offering money for the bills...both of which I assure you won't help, despite your intentions). I also feel very guilty about dumping this on you guys. Even now I've been hesitating for fifteen minutes to hit the "Submit" button. I'm sorry if I worry any of you.
After I get the results from the future Tuesday, my life can go one of two ways. I will either become a hospital patient for chemo (which may or may not work), or I will be able to buy some pills and forget this ever happened. Please help me achieve the latter.

Oh honey---I will be sending you as much Reiki as I can. I can't imagine how scary this is for you. ((((HUGE HUGS)))))
From a mom POV, please consider telling your family. Perhaps you could write a letter to her, explaining what is happening and why you don't want her upset. Let her read it as soon as you leave for school- that way she'll have all day to collect herself before you get home.
The reasons I am suggesting this are 1) for you- Whatever way this goes-you need to have a solid support group behind you. I know that you have that here, but that can't replace IRL family, under these circumstances.
And for 2) Completely speaking as a mom here, I would be devastated if anything bad did happen (not saying that it will in your case- but for that matter any amount of pain my kids are in is bad to me)- and I would be guilt ridden- "why can't I help?"
And I completely understand where you are coming from- my hubby is having some health issues and as a result, my life has been turned upside down. My mom still doesn't know the whole truth and this has been going on since Jan. I don't want her to worry... So I do understand- both sides.
Lots of calming thoughts for you for Tues and Reiki for your head.... if there is anything else you need- let me know. And if you delete your post and wish that I delete this one, I will.
Hope

(((hugs))) calm and grounding
denial is simply a part of the getting of information, trust me i know this answer inside and out
first off -- telling people actually isn't as horrible as you think it will be, and gives you a base of support, that does NOT mean you have to tell everyone, and frankly does NOT mean you have to tell your family, even having a friend in your corner to hold your hand, or cuss or cry with you or help you do info seekign can make a HUGE difference
and they can be your support person to help you tell other people later, if or when it becomes necessary
the further test makes great sense, at the risk of sounding like nbc (i think it's them lol) knowledge is power ---- even if it's knowledge of where a problem is and where the healing needs to go -- or what meds alternative and or western work for that specific issue
soft smile (((hugs))) one step at at ime dear, and find someone in the real world that is near you that can help you along the way
love

Klucky I dont mean to be motherly but I think you know me enough to know that I am, but a MRI would give much better info right away without leaving any doubts. CT scans often leave questions remaining. You might want to ask about that.
Meanwhile, I will muster every energy I have to help, every bit of energy. Tonight is when we (my family) celebrates the summer soltice so I will work hard for you. ~hugs~

Klucky ((big hug)) I will be sending you all the energy I can muster today. Though I would advise telling your family sometime in the near future, because you need support (<-- and not just from us). I understand not wanting to worry them, and that's fine, but you'll need others to help you, depending on how Tuesday goes.

Klucky,
Please know that that not all tumors are cancerous and not all brain tumors are life ending.
My uncle has had a brain tumor for the last ten years. He has had four operations during that time to help remove parts of it. The last was with a gamma knife and they were able to get almost all of it. While it is benign, and it continues to grow, he still lives a wonderful life.
Please do not consider taking yourself out of the ring of life. It is not meant for us to choose our own end, but rather for the creator/Great Spirit to help us achieve it in his/her/its time. You have much to give to the world, including laughs, love, and harmony. Not to mention funky chicken pics. . .
Please reconsider telling your family. Perhaps telling them about the tests will be enough. Let them know what they can do, so they feel helpful/useful. Allow them this time to be a part of you and you a part of them. It is not just the life we lead, but also the lives we touch that make our existence meaningful. You have already provided meaning in the world, but you have much more to go.
Know that my prayers are with you and your family for strength and comfort, as well as for peace of mind and health.
Blessings,
Donna

Klucks... you never mentioned this... I understand why, but listen to what DJ said.
I am sending you every energy I can. Now, go, get your CT scan, and an MRI, too, it you can. There won't be chemo unless they determine absolutely that it's malignant. Surgery, if it's benign, will only happen if it's starting to push too hard on other sections of the brain.
And last but not least, consider this: you may not have CFS. You may just have a benign brain tumor resting on some set of autonomic nerve synapses. Treatment for that may cure the other. Brain tumors are strikingly common in the post-pubescent teen years, too, because of hormonal surges, etc., etc.. You don't hear much about that because the vast majority are benign.
I know it's scary. But please don't consider anything drastic because I swear if you did I would come and get you and drag you back anyway! You are too important here. I love you, hon, and so do a lot of other people here.
We are all with you. Don't you ever forget that. :hugz:

Yes, I have thought over about telling my family, but I think I'll need to give myself a little more time before I can handle that. :) The MRI is a very good idea. Today's Sunday, so my doctor isn't working, but I'll call her tomorrow.
So most of them are benign? That is a very comforting thought to have right now. I didn't know so many kids get them. So odds are I'm going to be fine, right? :)

Actually, I just got back. :p I had called my doctor early today asking about the MRI. She said that I couldn't get an MRI tomorrow, but I could today. So I went before I had a chance to freak myself out. She gave specific orders to the MRI people to go through my scans (or whatever they are) as soon as they had them, and then call her with the results so she could call me.
I may actually have the results by tonight. :2G:

My doctor called me as soon as I got in the house. We talked for, like, forty minutes or so and this is what she said. I'm going to be alright. The tumor is benign. It's just another one of those "teenage" things that commonly happen (like Boo said). However, it seems to be pressing on a part of my brain that makes me sleepy all the time and makes me moody. (Mix that with PMS, PTSD, and average teenage hormones with a beginner empath and you've got yourself a delightful person. ) Operation is not needed to remove it, but she wants me to start taking whatever pills will dissolve it. However, she doesn't want me taking them at this time because it might hurt other parts of me still growing. So we're going to wait until I'm 18 or 21 or whatever. So I guess you'll have to put up with me being a bitch for a few more years. ;)
So thank you so very much to everyone who helped me through this. You're all fantastic. :hugz: :hearthear :bothsides :smoochypo :huddle:

My dear mature and responsible Klucky.....you are amazing.
I am so happy you are okay and that there is a good result from the tests. I will send more universal energy to use. Maybe you can ask the thing to shrink so it won't cause you trouble. Warm hugs.

What a relief. And what a marvelous doctor to take the time to talk this over with you. I'm so glad this wasn't more serious. I will send Reiki healing energy to shrink the growth. Maybe you could study Reiki and try to shrink the growth yourself? Anyway, hugs and smiles. :hugz: :boing: :D :clapping:  :spinnysmi

It takes practice to make perfect, but you can do a lot things well without them being perfect. :) Even if you're not interested in learning Reiki healing techniques, you can do meditations where you surround yourself in white healing light, focusing on it entering through the crown of your head, washing through you and cleansing away things that make you unhealthy and leaving energy for your body to heal itself naturally. And I've written you in my energy/prayer list so I'll send healing energy and good thoughts from time to time. Think positive, dearling, the natural state for human beings is healthy.

Oh and here's more good news. Ever since school let out (June 4th), I have been almost always sleeping until 4pm. However, I woke up today around 9am and haven't fallen back to sleep since (and it's now 12:23am here)! This is a huge deal for me! But why the sudden change? I'm positive it was all the energies you guys gave/are still giving me. I think it has actually shrunk the tumor or lessened its strangle hold on my poor little brain. :D
I don't think I can every thank you beautiful people enough!
