Ok I'm trying to figure out which pagan paths relate to mine and my husbands backgrounds and interests so we know which to learn more about. Can you tell me?

I am mostly Belgian with some German, a little Irish and a dash of indian (like only 1%) I look it too I'm the tall, thin, blonde hair, blue eyes, fair skin arian race all the way. My families name is VerHayden, obvious huh. My interests are Irish, Greek, Dutch and some egyptain.

My husband is mostly Irish, he might have some German I think and also has a dash of indian. (guess everyone one does huh) His interests are in Egypt, Ireland and he mentioned once he is interested inthe faiths associated with taekwondo I think whatever that is becasuse he use to do it.

What pagan faiths do these relate to other than celtic for the Irish?

Oh I need to add that neither of our families ever really had any heritage related family traditions other than corned beef on st pattys day or spoke any of the languages related to them either so we are not attached to anything.

you should look into scandinavian mythology and see if it resonates with you. research the aesir and vanir, and asatru.

since you both like egyptian, and you like greek as well, you might want to research hermeticism and kemeticism.

if he is interested in the eastern forms of religion, i highly recommend that he start looking into the writing of lao tzu and chuang tze. researching taoism will bring you into contact with the writings of those two guys.

there is already a thread or two on kemeticism here in the 'Paths' forum, and i have been about to start up a thread on hermeticism for the past few days but have been sidetracked over and over.

Have you read the Book:"The Celts"by Gerhard Herm. In it it says that the Belgians are probably descended from the Celtic Tribe the Belgae with a mixture of Tuetonic blood.Hnce the blond hr and blue eyes.
As for Tae Kwon Do that is a Koream martial arts.
Koreans mainly have a shamanistic belief system mixed with Buddhism, not Taoism.

Hi seapearls!

I'm German too, currently living in Austria. Finally someone in my own time zone! :D

If you study the Celts, don't only look at the late Celtic cultures in Ireland and what is today the UK. Most people forget that the Celts wandered through most of Europe, Austria, Germany, Benelux... they left their traces too, think of the "Hallstatt" culture near Salzburg in Austria.

Hugs!!
