I've been thinking about teaching a Fairy folklore (mostly celtic oriented, since those are the ones I know the most about). I haven't written up a lesson plan yet, because I wanted to see if it was okay and if there was any interest.

So what do you think? Would you take a class on fairy folklore in the british isles?

Wow! I'm glad people think it's a good idea! I'm writing up a lesson plan and I'll talk to Morr when I get the chance to ask her if I can get a sub forum.

The book I want to use primarily in the class is available free online, so that shouldn't be a problem for anyone :)

Interested, and if you need any help with the class, let me know. I was thinking of putting a Faery Class together on my own, but I haven't had the time to sit down and plan it.
I may be able to offer some insight... who knows

That sounds like fun. Don't know if I would have a lot of time though to participate, 'cause our teacher Shanti *nudge* is probably going to be keeping us forever. Just kidding Shanti. I had no idea our class was going to be so long or intense but I like it just the same anyway. I've always been interested to learn more about the fae.

OK, here's the deal. Morr said I could, and I'm sending her my first lesson tomorrow so that I'll get a forum. I'd like to start class on the 7th, if thats ok.

Fideal will you be mostly focusing on the Irish fairies or will you be covering those in Britain, Wales, Scotland, Cornwall, the Isle of Mann and Brittany too (you did say Celtic - just curious what you meant by Celtic)?

Fideal

Mostly on Irish/Scottish/Welsh.

Sounds like it could be good. I don't know that I'll have the time for actual lessons but I'll definitely be keeping an eye on it.

BTW, great book. I think it's a must read for anyone interested in a Celtic path or fairies.

Ooh, I'd sign up definitely!

I live in the British Isles and I've worked with faeries in the past, but I haven't actually got much information about them.

I'll check it out myself(Even though I am not wikkan)....I am very curious at how the fae were at one time considered gods..Am I correct? Then became fae....Or are they still gods but changed in human minds so really not fae at all or was it they were already fae,or are they the same as the Germanic Landwights,Tree Wights and house wights..........grrrrrrrrrr Im confused :ahhhh:
