ok we have had a little bit of a lull in posts lately. There is just too much to do in this community isn't there?!?!?! So I think I may post a poll to see if you guys wanna move faster..so that we can get through this learning part and start practicing with some readings.
So we shall see what you all want and go from there. as always if you have some ideas on what you want to see or do here let me know.

Hmm.
How fast are we going at the moment, I missed a couple
of days and as you may have noticed had a bit to catch
up on.
I think that 3 a day is a bit too many. If you miss a day
You'll have a lot to catch up on.
On the other hand it is good to keep it ticking over
(definately more than one a week).
And last night when I sat down to do four it really helped
having them in front of me and being able to compare some
of them like the priestess and empress and empress and
emperor.
How about 2 a day every other day, then they won't
build up too quickly and we can still compare the cards.
P.S. Would there be anyway to archive these lessons since
it would be a real shame to lose the observations or
does this BB not need to prune down the number of
post occasionally.

I don't think we will have to prune anytime in the near future. And if that ever becomes necessary we will save the cards and the posts. They are the back bone of this forum. We can always go back and look over the posts. This is especially important for those who may not have access to their own deck yet.
Thanks for your input!!

I agree with Wildwood that 3 cards a day are too much at one time to REALLY learn them. This is knowledge that I want to retain! :D I think the Major Arcana are really important to get a good solid grasp on! Since we are already up to #6, there are only 15 more cards to go...one a day or every other day would be great! Or at least 5 cards/week so we finish these up in the next 3 weeks. Then we could start working on the suits and the numberology of the Tarot. :)

Ps: Just an idea, I have more than one deck that I use. My favorite deck is the Robin Wood tarot. Next is my Rider Waite's. What I've done is made my Rider Waite's into flash cards, and use my Robin Wood for readings. :) (By flash cards, I mean I have taken post-it notes, and wrote down 3 keywords per card and stuck them to the cards [on the back of the cards]) This is helping me remember the cards immensely!

Hi all!
5 or 6 cards a week sounds good to me!

Flash Cards got me through nursing school. I had hundreds of thousands of them made on notecards with every piece of information you can imagine. Mol, being the neat freak he is, was always distraught about the little piles of them laying everywhere. If he moved them all kinds of Hell broke loose. He would always mix them up. AAAGGGHHHH!!!
Anyway i have never thought of using the tarot as flash cards. DUH!!!! may have to give that a try sometime... now that I know them pretty well it will make me feel like I am really learning fast!!!

I like the speed we are moving now also. I don't have time to be at my computer every day and this pace is good for me also.

I think 3 or 4 cards a week is quite enough! :D

Great idea about the post its on the cards. Excellent.
I will have to go out and purchase some tomorrow.
Now, what would be the best keywords to go with? I was thinking about some of the ones from the book on how to use the tarot that comes with the deck? Those descriptions are usually from the creator themselves, aren't they?? What ya think??

TIA

You could use the keywords provided by the author, or you could go to www.learntarot.com and use the keywords there. Semele is using that site/book to teach from, so all the keywords listed under each class lesson is from there. :D What ever is most fitting for you!
