I ran across this tonight in my wanderings. What does everything think about this as a 'path'?

The 9 Principles of the Goddess

Of course the following is like life, subjective. It is meant as a suggestion, you must live your life as you so choose, Blessings!!!

1. I acknowledge that is one Goddess in essence, Creatrix of all existences; Her forms are infinite, She manifests Herself in our love, and we are all Her lovers.

2. Treat all beings with reciprocity, for the Goddess lives in them as well as in us.

3. Tolerate other religions and do not compel others to join the circle of the Goddess: the Goddess will draw those to Her who are ready and hear Her call.

4. Worship Her by restoring balance to Her planet.

5. Eat mostly grains, vegetables and fruits, so that there will be enough food for all; when you eat thank the Goddess, the provider of all energy. It is not forbidden to eat animal flesh in moderation, but when you do so you must thank the animal that you eat as well.

6. In the circle of the Goddess create consensus while respecting diversity of opinion. On the path of the Goddess there are many paths.

7. In your home create a sacred space for the Goddess to please Her. Meditate the Goddess three times a day, at rising, at noon and at sundown.

8. Sexuality is Her sacrament; enjoy this gift and bless those who you share it with love and affection. Remember that overcoming jealousy is the cause of cessation of the cycle of rebirth.

9. Announce the religion of the Goddess to the world through good works, honest words and selfless acts of beauty and love.

To set out on the path of the Goddess, you need only recite the first principle three times, and say three times 'blessed be'. The Goddess will enter your heart and you will feel her love, and when that happens you are in the circle of the Goddess.

Interesting! Most of the principles are things I believe, things that exist in my own path.I don't consider these 9 principles a seperate path, they can be incorporated in everyone's path simply because every witch, wiccan, pagan is a follower of the Goddess(that's my opinion).
I am Wiccan and I still follow the above principles.I admit I worship the Goddess more because as the 1st principle says she is the Creatrix.
I find the principles really great, thanks for posting them!

sounds Christian to me..
honestly, its very dogmatic and fluffy in essence... at least in my opinion...

it doesnt fit me AT ALL...
but if someone finds it suitable for their path... fine by me..

nah.. sounds cool for you if that's how you wanna do it, not for me though. i mean, it's doable and everything and there are probably people out there who think/do the same... i mean... i just wouldn't follow it. *shrug* but i'm not everyone. the only thing i really disagree with is this.....
9. Announce the religion of the Goddess to the world through good works, honest words and selfless acts of beauty and love.
that's against everything i've every learned. granted.. i've learned some old, old things and that just wasn't allowed back then.well, i don't know if it's the point of it.. maybe just the use of the word 'announce'.. gives me the creepies. but hey... can't make everyone happy all the time huh.

I should say, these are not principles I personally follow. I just saw it and though it might be an interesting discussion, seeing as there are so many wonderful minds here.

Personally, I see this as a little too dogmatic for my liking .. it's like it's a reversal of many Christian beliefs, and I see that as just a little too retaliatory for my tastes.

well.. it's not exactly fitting for my beliefs either.... but it's something alot of people's beliefs fit into. it's not my cup of tea... but, i don't know everything.

I think they are good guidelines to those who are new to the goddess and what she is in essence about. I wouldnt follow them to heart but I think they make 'some' good points.

no, it wasn't the grammar but the principle...

I acknowledge that [there] is one Goddess in essence, Creatrix of all existences...
personally, i could never acknowledge such a statement as true.

It's definitely not for me. I believe in some of them but personally I could never follow it all. It's just a bit too "10 commandment style" for me. But hey, thats just me.
