I'm still on my Faery information hike.
And Rhyce and I had a rather interesting conversation, while waiting for 'The Village' to start at the movies.
A couple of questions for you all?
- Do any faeries (as I do understand their are many different types of fae) feed on dreams?
- Are faeries feircely protective of people that they may have grown attached too?
- Do faeries have ulterior motives? Like would they get rid of someone/something, in order to cause a more disasterous domino effect on the lives of those they are close to?
- Would they strive to 'get rid' of somebody, anyway possible?
I ask these questions, because, right now I am plucking up straws. Rhyce suggested to me, that the Faeries might be playing at causing chain reactions that have led to my mother not being 'all there' in the head.
I know this probably sounds absolutely stupid but at the same time, it rather makes perfect sense. Again, I'm just pondering. Feel free to disagree, if you like.

I would like to go on record, and say I now believe.
I have no real knowledge on them. But my interest is piqued. :)

I know a wee bit about them. I have found that they do get a little protective of someone when they're attached. But not really enough to endanger themselves or other fae of their kind. And, also, if you annoy them, they'll play tricks on you.... I once lost my keys for a week. I put them on my table before I went to bed, and when I woke up, they were gone. I found them outside under my oak tree. I realized that when i'd sling bladed the tall grasses in my woods, I upset them. I'll never do it again, that's for sure.

Interesting.
See the thing is, I haven't really been that close to them of late, but I know I've invited them into my house. But haven't really seen enough evidence of them lately to know if these incidents of late could be connected to them or not.

iv read from sources that different faeries have different natures.(makes sence!) some are definately said to play tricks. or feel jealous, as some are said to get close to individual people. i can understand that, though how nasty they could get is a good question. personally i dont think they'd do anything out of spite or generally bad.
if they're like a spirit, maybe they get a little confused or lost, or something. maybe they need a little help, like when a spirit/ghost needs help in finding/seeing the light, or some understanding or recognition from the human.
well, a lot of maybees, but i think why not try communicating with the energy/faerie, listen, and express to it with love and understanding?

There are lots of books by Brien Froud on faeries but my opinion on the best is "A Witch's Guide to Faery Folk " by Edain McCoy . It has almost anything you would want to know .

Well....the local folk are fond of peanut butter cookies and red grapes ;)..The fairy folk are a bit like regular folk. Some of them are quite benign and gentle creatures, some of them are a bit mischievious (especially if they think they've been "done wrong"), and a few are quite malevolent and dangerous. There are some fairies that do drain off human energies and emotions. There are several good books about fairies, Sadb has listed two sources. Anna Franklin and Paul Mason also have a book that came out just before Christmas last year.
