There are five things going on simultaneously
which need to be taken care of:

1. The telephone is ringing.

2. The baby is crying.

3. Someone knocks at the front door
or rings the doorbell.

4. There is laundry hanging on the line
outside and it begins to rain.

5. The water faucet in the kitchen is running.

In what order do you take care of the problems?

The answer's are in the attachment! :D

For all you wondering what my answer was and why......
(I'm assuming extremes are not the case here)

1. the machine could get it
2. ....when isn't the baby crying???? ;)
3. This was my answer--get the door~!
4. The laundry will dry again when the sun comes out
5. I often let the faucet run for a few minutes to get cold/hot.

So, there you have it.....friends are my priority.....they are my greatest source of strength. :D

In order, it would be.....

3, 2, 5, 4 and by this time....the machine would have taken care of 1. :D

I picked 5, 3, 4, 1, 2... doesn't say much about my family values, does it? lol

But I was just thinking in terms of practicality... I figured I could shut the water off on the way to answering the door, greet whoever was at the door and enlist their help taking the laundry down, and knock the phone off the hook when I went to shut the baby up.

*shrug* :)

I don't like babies.

Mine was #2, 3, 5, 4, 1...telephone was last 'cause the machine will pick it up. Funny how accurate this was. :D

Before I read the answers..

1. I never answer the phone. Wait, could be my dad.

2. Did s/he hurt herself!?

3. Depends, am I wearing more then a sarong?

4. I don't HAVE a line outside! That's why I use a dryer :) Oh well, I'll dry 'em later.

5. I need to fix that someday.

so, 2, 1 (could be my dad), 3, 4, 5.

Interesting. Tho I think 1 also represents my family (because I was worried it was my dad).

Ok I went

2,5,3,1 (but machine should have it) and 4.

Funny how I do try to put family first, and to me the water was a waste and environment issue, as in my families real home, and then friends. pretty cool!

Blessings

I said 5, 2, 3, 1, 4.

Why is it I don't really care about money but all these test thingies say I do? LOL

hmm.. . the five is innacurate, but the rest is kinda. I would turn off the faucet because at the time I was prolly doing dishes and it was on my way (if I had it running I'd be right there to turn it off. Don't waste water, ne?). I would pick up the baby on the way to the door, talk to the person (if the caller hung up, oh well, if they left a message, I can call back.), take care of the phone if it's still ringing, then I can go bring the laundry in and put it in the dryer. Why did I have it out on the line? o.O;

I don't think this test works right because I have voice mail and nobody calls me but solicitors.

My answers were 2, 5, 3, 4, 1.
They were right execpt 1 but my job is my family so how does that work?

LOL..okay...i thought this was funny...my answers....

2(family)
5(money)
3(friends)
4(sex)
5(job).

I find it VERY accurate for me right now. The most important thing in my value system, is probably family. As for the money part..I don't see it as being the thing which "motivates" me...but..the thing which worries me the most. Friends...are VERY important in my life. Sex..takes a back seat to everything else right now..and Job..WHAT JOB????? LOL..i don't have one...so...yeah..i think it's probably PRETTTTTTTTTY accurate. Cool..Thanks!

I got 2,3 ~ the person/friend at the door would help me with 4,5 and 1 if its still ringing Ill answer it .. otherwise they will ring back later if they want to talk... So true too!!
But.. depending on my mood, time and clothes situation (willow!) I would only open the door because the knocker would know someone was in!...

Well, **shrug** I think that the test needs to be re-written. It's cute, but it doesn't seem to apply well to a lot of people.

For example, in my case, I have an answering machine. So why bother answering the phone if I'm THAT busy? And I don't do laundry on a line.

But more important than that, I don't even comprehend how the phone has to do with my job or how laundry that I'd air on a line outside for everyone to see has to do with my sex life. Those associations just don't even make sense to me.

Still, I ended up with the order of 2(baby), 3(door), 4(laundry), 5(water), 1(phone) which claims to translate to family, friends, sex, money, job.

My thinking was that picking up the kid would probably help it to stop crying, which I could carry to the door to say hello to whoever took the time to visit me in person. Then while at the door, outside is just a step away so I could take in the laundry. (Which I'd assume couldn't be much more than a single item or two since I don't do laundry on a line so would only hang something if it was hand-washed.) And then I'd turn the water off on the way back into the house. And screw the phone, the machine can get it because it'd either be family (who would forgive me) or a telemarketer (who can go to hell).

But then in my case too, the water comes from a pump, which is electric, and the electric bill is integrated into my rent. So my 'electric bill' never changes whether I leave the water running or turn it off right away. And from a well and into a septic tank isn't wasting a city's water supply, so conservation hardly matters there.

So basically, for me most of the test seemed to carry motivations that don't match up to the given answer list. I'd associate the laundry to work. (Because I'd need clean clothes to wear to work.) I'd associate the water to, well ... nothing. That one doesn't even compute in my book. I'd associate the phone to communication with and ties to family and friends. I'd associate the door to manners. (After all, it's impolite to leave someone standing forever at the door in the rain.) I'd associate the baby to family values.

So to me, I say my results actually meant: family values, manners, work, ???/nothing, communication with friends/family.

Mine was 5, 1, 3, 4, 2... It was based on efficiency and practicality.

The water I could shut off in a second or two, I could proceed to the phone, it might be urgent or not, but the people on the other end won't know you are there if you don't answer. So I picki it up and tell them to please hold I'll be right back. Should take less than 15 seconds.

Get the front door, if its a friend, tell them to come in, be right with them. If its a JW or something, I'm busy please don't bother me. Should be not much time there I can always just shut the door.

Run out and grab the laundry and pull it off the line, as quickly as possible. if its already soaked and there's no point, screw it... :-) Worry about it later...

Then as I would not have put the baby in a place where it would be in serious trouble, go have a look. The last two are sort of interchangeable.

You didn't say whether I heard anything like a muffled thump before the crying or what. In that event, the baby would move way up the list.

But having said that, in some ways its accurate, but not in the sense that it might seem. I'm a single parent of three, on whats called here in New Zealand, a Domestic Purposes Benefit. I'm a full time parent. My kids are my job. But we get very little money compared to our needs.

Money is always a worry, and making ends meet. So the money and job are interrelated. I know few people and consequently have few friends and almost no social life, as most of it is for the kids.

What few friends I have help remind me that I'm more than just daddy and also a person. We all need social contact.

Sex? LOL You must be kidding. Sex is something that happens when the Goddess is kind, and when you can, after the kids have been taken care of.

Family is what all the above is for. Take care of the necessities of life and survival, and then you have time for the cuddles.

Right now, money's been at the forefront as we get reviewed annually and the amount of money we get for the coming year may go up or down. Its pretty tight now, so its a worry. I suspect the test was designed for people who have the luxury of having the struggle for survival more at arms length, for some of us, its day to day.

Blessings, Raindancer

Well my answers were 2 3 5 1 4

I would pick baby :wah: :nonono: up on way to the door, answer it, if it was friend ask them to get phone while i turned off tap, if it wasn't a friend ask them to wait, turn off tap and return to door. :ack:
I could always dial 1471 to find out who had phoned later, and well, i always seem to manage to leave washing on line when it's raining lol
