Finding my spirit guide

I don't know if this is the right category for this, but i want to know if anyone can give me advice on how to find my spirit guide and how to contact them, is it also possible to be trained as a medium and be able to contact the spirit world and ghosts.

Can anyone give me any good advice as this is a massive interest for me.

briefly, spirit guides come in many forms, with many faces. in dreams, meditations, etc. as animals, plants, dieties, possibly even people who are deceased.
Guides come and speak in symbols, crystals, coloures etc. especially in the dream state. messages and insights can be found in many things when you are open and listen to all around you, whether waking or asleep. they speak to you usually in a form you will understand.

my spirit guides have come to me in dreams, or in that space when you drift and merge as one within nature.

As to an actual spirit guide, different ways have been used in different cultures. one way is to ask to meet your spirit guide. in meditation, dreaming state or ritual. Spirit guides can be for life, or come at certain times in your life, when you need their particular energy and guidence.

I learnt mediumship at a spiritualist church (some are christian but many are non-religious despite the name) could place to go if you really want to learn tons

Thanks fo that, i totally forgot about spiritualist church's, there's one located near to where i live, i will have to enquire about joining, thanks again!

My spirit guide "Delores" came to me after I simply meditated and called on her. I have a sacred space I created and I go there when I meditate. I wait and just sit on a rock in the stream or I create a garden and sit on a bench my guide(s) know that when I am there waiting it is for them and they come my totem or my spirit they just know who I want. It took several tries but eventually it came and was well worth the wait and effort. Not to mention I got better at meditating. I believe in astral realms (levels) when you are comfortable ask you guide to take you to a higher realm to meet other guides and to learn the things you wish to be taught if you are ready they will take you.

Thanks for the advice Dragenfly, i have now found a multi-faith spiritualist church in my area that runs a program on Mediumship and helps you develop your awareness of spirit guides, i emailed them yesterday and will be waiting for their reply.
