Okay, seeing as I can never find any candle stick holders (to hold taper candles, not tea light of voltive candles) I thought I'd start a thread so people can share ideas.

One that I find works well, is small terracotta pot plants, that you find in crafts stores.

Plus they're really easy to decorate.

Yes, and you may be able to find the terra cotta dish, that goes under the potting cups.
They can be painted...

When I've not had any thing to put a candle on, I'll use a saucer.
Sometimes you can find some really cool antique saucers at yard sales and such as that.

I've used candy dishes.

I use a large glass heatproof plate from the bottom of an old microwave
It's great, really thick and sturdy, and it has little isty bitsy legs!

Macha, that's an excellent idea!
especially if you want the look & effect of more than one candle in one place.

:uhhuhuh: they're really good if you're using a lot of candles, plus you can drip wax onto them to stick the candles in so they dont fall over, which is so much easier than using candle holders (they never ever fit right  ), and the wax just scraped right off afterwards! :D

I think I'm a bit over qualifued for this thread :lookaroun. Being a wood worker I tend to find a really nice/interesting bit of wood and work/turn it to be what I want.

Interesting. You maybe a little bit more experienced in that area, but its still given me an idea.

Thanks.

Most of the craft stores I've been into have "candle cups" in the wood figures/stuff area. They can be attached to many types of bases. Just remember it is worth getting the little metal insets for them.

You could probably also use clay/sculpy to make something, if you're artistically inclined. I'm not as skilled in that area, so I settle for buying my own.

Sometimes I use saucers that well, I don't have much use for. :)

And you want ceramic stuff and want to trade, right? :uhhuhuh:

I use a bunch of stuff from thrift stores. I've also been making holders in ceramics. Polymer clay works too!
