My fathers line can be traced back to a man who immigrated to Massachussets from Wales in the 1600's. Our last name is an Anglisised version of a place in Wales called Bodwyrda. I count 8 or so Grandfathers between the first man and me..I was just wondering if any of you have been there or heard of it.

Not a city, but a tiny little village! Actually named Bodwrda, near Aberdaron, in Llyn.

Never been there myself.

Interesting that he emigrated so early, there weren't significant numbers of 'Welsh emigrants to American until the following century, when a lot of nonconformist Christians went there to escape religious persecution.
