I may have, but I'm not totally sure. In a house that I use to live in when I was around 8 or 9...A woman that lived across the street from us just randomly told me one day that this guy had died in our house. Creepy thing is that it happened right outside my bedroom. And I can remember hearing things like someone walking around or whispering at night. Then to my suprise, I woke up in the early AM one morning and it was still dark. I sat up, opened my eyes, and there was something in a shape figure of a person sitting in front of my bed. I still to this day don't know if it was my imagination, a ghost, or something else. I pulled my covers over my head from fright, so I didn't really pay attention and a few seconds later I looked back and it was gone. I just remember the figure perfectly and I try to make sense of what it was, but I never get anywhere with it, heh. But even if it wasn't a ghost, I have full belief that ghosts exist.

I was wondering that too. I chose male because the most vivid (well, the memory of seeing him) one was male, but I've seen more than one.

I'm not positive, what I saw could have been attributed to astral projection. I've seen and heard odd things that cant be explained ( at least by me) . I would really like to see a ghost for sure though.

I've been reading too many of those scary stories on www.castleofspirits.com lately. You know, the ones with ghosts that have hollow or glowing eyes, and evil grins full of sharp teeth, and it's been scaring the crap outta me! :hairraise I have a ghost that lives in our house with us that I have seen face to face a few times (although he was kinda blurry), and it never really bothered me. But now after reading one too many ghost stories, even the silliest little things creep me out! Our ghost regularly does things like spinning things on the floor in front of me and popping up when least expected but after those stories, I don't even dare look just in case he becomes clearer and scarier! Last night my husband and I were watching a movie late at night and he paused it to run to the kitchen to get a drink. I was left in the darkened livingroom with the picture on pause. As soon as he returned the movie turned off, not just the regular where the pause was on too long, but the entire DVD player and all! Neither of us could figure out what happened. I was so scared that I made him turn the lights on for as much of the rest of the movie as he would let me. I really should stop reading those stories!

I'm sure the nightclub i used to wrok in was haunted. During the day i used to stock fridges. I'd be busy working away when i'd 'sense' someone come into the club and i'd start talking away, thinking it was the manager. Only when he didn't reply would i turn around and see no one is there. This used to happen all the time!

Thinking back now, maybe he was there and just ran off quick cos he was sick of talking to me?

You mean a full fledged hollywood floating spectre type ghost?
Only once, when I was about twelve years old.. A friend and I
were exploring the woods behind an old slave graveyard, and
found ourselves walking along with a crumbling stone wall. We
followed it for a few minutes, and came across an old, ruined
house fountation, half grown over with weeds. Cool.
While looking around, we both began getting an "errie" feeling
about the place which unnerved us... so we decided to head home.
Hey, I was twelve... :hrmm:
As we started away into the woods, I felt something brush my
shoulder, and instinctively turned to look back. There she was,
standing among the old foundation. A woman, looking skyward
and wearing a filthy, loosely cut dress. Dropping her gaze, she
turned towards us- she motioned as if to address us. She
said nothing, but turned and walked off into the brush. After
some hesitation we followed after her into the woods, but she
had gone. Now determined, we searched the area, yet found
no trace of her, nor of anything she may have been leading us to.
Freaky.
Thoroughly creeped out by now, we quickly hiked back out of the
woods... and had to walk across the graveyard to get back out to
the road!
The funny thing is, when we later returned to investigate, we couldn't
find the clearing.

The first house I lived in when I moved out of home...I shared it with my best friend, and it had 3 bedrooms, so we had a bedroom each, and kept the third for a "dressing room" where we kept all of our clothes, shoes, makeup etc...

One night, we were getting ready to go out...I was blow-drying my hair in front of the mirror, and my friend was behind me, looking through a pile of clothes.....she turned and said to me..."turn the hairdryer off, it's smoking"

So I looked in the mirror, where she had looked and saw smoke rising. Really thick smoke. I immediately turned the dryer off, and turned to face my friend, looking down at the dryer as I did so....no smoke.

We looked at each other, then looked back at the mirror...and in the mirror saw coils of rising smoke, that *was not in the room*.

We went out and got extremely muntered.

Later on, after we'd moved out, and another friend of ours had taken over the place, we found out that this other friend had had disturbing things happen, and had brought in a psychic, who said a young girl had committed suicide in the room that we used to use as our dressing room. Whether that was true or not, we could never ascertain.

But Sach and I still shudder when we talk about that smoke.

I've heard and felt ghosts for most of my life, but I actually saw one for the first time about a month ago. It wasn't well enough formed to be able to tell if it was a female or a male or a child, but the guy who lives in the house said it was probably the woman who had lived there before because he had seen her several times.

The poll is rather too specific in that we can only choose one option, and that in my case I might not have known whether it was male or female or child.

Yeah, but not in quite a while. In my late teens and 20's, I was something of a ghost magnet. (Now I'm a cat magnet, but that's a different story.) I said that I've seen a female spirit, but I've seen both. Actually, I don't believe they're "spirits" so much as energy signatures left by people with strong ties to a specific locale.

The first ghost I saw was a fairly famous ghostie. I was in high school, and my family had moved into a farmhouse that had been extensively remodeled. I'd seen the house before the remodeling, and it had been pretty darn creepy. The man who had lived in it was nicknamed "Goosey," because he kept a lot of geese on his property. He was known as quite a character in the small town; very eccentric, and the sort of guy little kids would be afraid of. (Ya know, like Boo Radley.) He was known to skin dogs who strayed onto his property to chase his geese, and he would hang their skins on his fence as a grim reminder of the tresspassing. (When we first saw the house before the remodeling, I found a string of dried animal bones hung in the basement.) He was very lonely, because he was estranged from his children, who refused to come visit him. He died by sitting on a train track and waiting for the train to mow him down. Anyhow...Goosey was known to haunt the house. Well, he sure did! Our lights used to dim and flicker all the time for no reason. Often the front door, even though solidly closed, would fly open. (It was great for scaring guests! Muwahahahaha!) Most of Goosey's attempts to be recognized were prankste-like things, but I actually did see him once. He appeared as a hunched shadow skulking around the top of the starewell. Didn't scare me at all for some reason. I just said hello to him.

Another ghost I saw was of my brother's teenage friend who died in a horrible car accident while racing on a country road with another friend. The boy, named Mike, had spent a lot of time at my parents' farm, and for some reason shortly after he died he appeared there and I saw him. I have to say, THAT one left me a bit creeped out.

The second ghost I saw was a female. I was working at a beauty salon, and I was usually the only one there in the evenings between 7 and 9 p.m. I was washing and folding towels when I saw a woman sitting at the front desk. She wore a wide-brimmed navy blue hat, and she looked as though she was flipping through the appointment book. (I was seeing her through a wicker shelf unit that held product for sale.) When I went up front to see if she needed help, she just...wasn't there. But then the tanning bed clicked on. I figured she'd had an appointment and gone into the tanning bed without telling me. Checked the books...no appointment. Hmmm. I knocked on the door. No answer. Knocked again. Nothing. I waited until the tanning light went off, then gave it another 5 minutes to make sure she was dressed. Knocked again. Nothing. Finally I tried the door. It was unlocked, and there was nobody there. Weeks later I told one of my co-workers about the incident, and she was quite unnerved. She said I needed to talk to the owner of the salon, so I did. The salon owner told me that her husband's ex-wife, who had been dying of cancer when the salon owner and her now-husband had started dating (tacky, isn't it?), had appeared to her several times. I asked what she looked like, and she told me that the two times she had seen her, she'd been wearing a wide-brimmed hat. I hadn't divulged that particular detail when I told my story.

And another ghost I saw regularly appeared to me when I was dating my husband. He apparently "followed" me from the place I was working at the time, a boarding kennel. It's a long story, but apparently his name was Joshua (the boarding kennel owner had learned this through a seance), and he was 12 years old. He had lived in the area in the late 1800's. Not sure why he visited me, but he did it when I was in a great deal of distress. After the stress faded, so did he.

So, those are my stories. Believe it or not. :p

BOO!

Yes, quite often. All differant kinds and not always of a known sex!

The most at one time was a few months ago. My 6 yr old daughter jumped out of bed screaming shortly after we all went to sleep. My SO and I went running to our daughters bed. My daughter was on the floor yelling at something to get out of her bed, when me and my SO looked at my daughters bed and there were 5 kids in her bed. They were little boys ranging from about 5 to 9 years old. I yelled for them to stay out of her bed and they disappeared. My SO saw them too. My daughter was just upset because she doesnt like sharing her bed. She doesnt care if anything is around but she draws the line of anything crawling into her bed. She wasnt scared, she was mad.

For this family, its nothing new. :)

Yes, I wondering why there wasen't more options too. So here goes my stories. I think the first time I saw a gost was when I was about 9 but I'm not sure cause as a child I played by myself most of the time but I can't remember being lonely and I do remember hearing people talking when no one was around. But back to the stories. When i was 9 I woke up from a sound sleep, you know the kinda sleep that it feels like you have to almost peel back the layers to get out of, any way I woke up for some reason and looked over to where my doll house stood next to the window. And there was someone there! She was kinda peteite and had a long dress on with ling hair in a bun behind her head. I can't recall much more and I don't remember if I saw her in color or if the room was cold or any thing all I know is that I was out of my bed and down the hall to my parents' in two seconds flat!

About a month after that I again woke from sleep for no reason and there was some one in front of the door to my room, she seemed to be more stoutly built and had on a long dress with a sort of pinifore and a bonnet sorta thingy on. Again I diddn't notice the temp or weather or not she was in color. I pulled the blankets over my head and and kept them that way for quite a while. when I looked again she was gone and so was I . . .Into my parents room again.

I can't think of any more from that time period so I'll move on. About age 12 I moved into jinx1_2's room after she had moved away w/her hubby. At that time my brother whos room was directly through the wall and across the hall from that room was on his LDS mission. Any way I had put the bed next to the wall between those two rooms. After about a week I started to hear someone moveing around in his room late at night. It would wake me up and I would sit there and listen to it and be afraid to run up stairs because I would have to pass the door to that room on the way. (My thoughts on that particular room later.)
So after a while of this I started sleeping on the couch up stairs instead.

There but either I can't remember or I blocked it out. Later in life about 16 I had to move out of my room upstairs again because my grandma was comeing to stay with us after hip sergery. Because my mom is a major pack rat the only room that wasn't full of junk down stairs was my brothers seeing as he had just got married and moved out. So I ended up in there. While I lived in there every thing was fine untill I started wakeing up and hearing someone walking around in the hall late at night. I knew I was the only one in the basement at that time so there shouldn't have been any one there! And I couldn't leave cause it was right in frount of the door. While I was still down there my cousin came to stay for a few weeks and during that time nothing happened so I thought it was all my immagineation. After my cousin left my bro came back and wigged out about me living in his room ( A nasty experence I won't tell right now) Any way after that I had the weirdest dream that there was a vortex in that room and that bad things were comeing out of it then something came up in my face and screamed at me to get out of the room or else. I woke up and the next day I moved out of that room. Ummm well i can't tell more cause I'm at school now and the bell just rang. So the rest of the stories later!

P.S. Sorry about any bad spelling no time to spell check!

Other.

I have seen what might be called ghosts- human forms... usually out of the corner of my eye. I have not been able to see what gender, just their shape.

I chose "male", because there were both. :)

I saw a young couple crossing a street. They dissappeared at the edge of it. My guess is that they never made it. It was a very busy intersection near a college. I'm fairly certain that they were ghosts/recordings/etc of some type, because while my headlights shined on everything else, they somehow weren't touched. I did see them clearly, though. :whatgives

I catch a glimpse of something out of the corner of my eye every now and then when I'm at work and hear my name even though no one said it,but whether or not it's a ghost,I really don't know. I was visited by my aunt after she died.I actually did see her. I have also felt my my paternal grandmother and maternal grandfathers spirits around me,almost as if they were standing right up against my back. That was very strange!

You should have put a "not sure" option. When I was a kid, I sometimes watched a rocking chair rock by itself. It was a heavy wooden thing on a linoleum floor. I was alone in the house when I noticed the sound of it rocking. Had someone come home? I went and looked and no one was there, no cars had pulled up. Nothing. Perhaps a cat had been in it and jumped down. If that was the case the rate at which it rocked would gradually decrease until it stopped. That didn't happen. It continued to rock at a steady rate, slow and casual, like someone rocking on the front porch (except this was in the den). It never increased or decreased. Perhaps some sort or air current was causing it. Except the air conditioner was off, and all doors and windows were shut. Was it a ghost? I don't know. What I do know is that I was never frightened by it, even though I was a child alone in the house (well, maybe not alone...) with something I couldn't explain.
Another incident was at night when I was a litle older (9 - 10 years old). I got up to get a drink of water in the middle of the night. As I stood before the refrigerator, with the door open, I saw a human shape in the darkness. It seemed to have fairly long hair. I asked, "Who's there?" and got no answer, so I did what came naturally - I charged and punched for its face (or where a face would be on a person). The image, a gray silhoutte in the darkened room, disolved and faded, rapidly disappearing. Now, maybe it was just the effect of the refrigerator light in my eyes and the darkness, but there are two things about that that make me wonder. 1) When my eyes are dazzled by light, such as a flashbulb going off in my face, the shapes I see are shifting spots and dots, not a steady human shape, and 2) when those spots are in my vision they are imposed on anything I look at. For example, if I look at my hand after having light flash in my eyes, I see the spots on my hand. With the shape in the dark I distinctly remember seeing my fist going towards its face, not it's shape being imposed over my fist. Was it a ghost? I don't know, but it was noticably different from my normal experiences.
When I was younger, about 4 or 5, I had an experience that scared my socks off. It was in our house during a bright, sunny day. I was walking by a closed closet door in a hallway when a disembodied hand shot out through the closed door and opened and closed in quick, jerking motions, as if it was trying to grab me. I remember clearly seeing the lines on its palm. It was a left hand. I screamed bloody murder as I backed away and mom came running. I told her what I saw and she said it was my imagination, which is certainly possible. Maybe the ol' optic nerve just misfired for a second or two. But when "it's my imagination" it's normally something quick seen in my peripheral vision that is instantly gone when I look directly at it. This was a very clear picture squarely in my line of sight, and I was focused on it. If it was a hallucination, it was the clearest one I've ever had. All the others were very insubstantial and fatigue induced. This particular day I felt fine, no fatigue or illness. *shrugs* Who knows? Scared the hell out of this little kid.

Years ago my sister and I both saw her. We think she came in with a used dresser. We both saw her on multiple occasions....She was tall, with long hair. Her name was Amelia. I dont know how I know that, but we both did. It was probably 6 or 7 years ago now...

Yes, several but the most recent was a "hagging," which is disputed as being a sleep disorder. I felt hands bearing down on my neck, not trying to actually choke me, but I couldn't move and it was very frightening. When I said "Help" out loud, I turned to see a large white female figure standing at the side of my bed. Very clearly. She was there.

I hesitated to bring it up to my son because I didn't want to freak him out. Somehow the subject came up and he said, "Oh yeah, I saw her too, in the hallway outside my room." And it didn't bother him at all.

Curious question, how many ppl have actually seen a ghost? or think they've seen one? There's a ghost in my best friend's house. It's the original owner of the house, an elderly man that died there. We see him sitting around. I don't think he's are real ghost though, but rather more like an imprint of the man (like when you leave a fingerprint on a glass). There is a ghost at my jobsite too. He's my boss's father, who began the company there. I see him several times every day that I work. I'm not sure if this is a real ghost or an imprint. I think he might be a real, active ghost.

My husband and I were visiting his cousin when we saw a man dressed in black walking through a flower bed at the window infront of us. Our first reaction was to tell him to get out of there because if the dogs living there didn't kill him, the cousin's wife definitely would.

My hubby got up to warn him and he had just disappeared. There was nowhere for him to hide and it took us a while to realize what we had seen. :vanish:

I'm thinking he may have been a murder victim as the house belonged to a dealer currently in prison and the basement of the house gave me a very cold creepy feeling.

One of the previous houses I've lived in had a ghost. It turned out the elderly man that lived there before us died right at the kitchen sink making a salad. Had a heart attack. Kind of funny, actually. I remember walking into the house for the first time and running straight back out. He didn't want us there. He would walk up and down the stairs at night and of course they'd creak like mad. My dad, skeptic that he is, convinced himself it was the house "settling." My mother didn't believe me either until one night he grabbed her ankles real hard while she slept and she freaked and ran into the bathroom to find black and blue fingerprints on 'em, and it wasn't any of us. I think that was around the time we started looking for a new house. heh. 'Course I know you can't escape spirits. There's one in ourhallway right now, walking back and forth, looking rather forlorn. He's one of the ones who hasn't yet talked to me. I think we have a micheivious one as well...turning things over, off and on...pounding and such. He or she kept turning the volume up and down on me once. I told 'em to knock it off and it's never happened since. lol

Many years ago I worked as a security guard in a carpet manu
facting plant. The plant was vacant for the weekend. I was all by myself. I did my rounds and I saw a "form" of a person walking in the plant. I told myself at first that it was the lighting and that I was working nights.

I didn' t want to believe it..

A few weeks later I saw the "form" again.. Well, I decided that I needed to tell someone about what I saw. The other guard told me that people had quit the job because they saw a ghost. It seems as I was told that a man died in the back of the plant about 20 years ago due to an industrial accident. Also I have heard strange noises in that area of the plant on the weekends when the plant was vacant.

I've never seen one, but I've felt and heard things before.

Last Halloween weekend me and a friend went on the local ghost tour (I live in a historic town) and it wasn't real scary, you know, just a guide taking you outside houses and telling you the stories.

Well, one house had a story that a man who was very jealous about his wife. One night, he thought he had caught her cheating, and slit her throat, then feeling guilty, slit his own. She woke up and went to the hospital, but he died. So, supposedly women in the house are always feeling cold steel against their throats.

After the story was told, I started to get a really weird sensation on my throat. Not steel really, but rather like it had gone numb. I started to get dizzy and had to sit down, and it slowly faded away.

Of course, this happening *after* the story was told, I can't be sure it wasn't just my imagination running away with me or not, but I still think it's cool. :vanish:

i've seen one each of male and female, and had several 'occurances' happen in my presense.
all of them thus far have happened at my job, which is a health food store in a building that used to be a bar. the first was a girl that opened the door and walked in as i stood behind the counter. i said hello to her and she averted her eyes and went down the far aisle. i gave her a second to get her bearings, thinking she was a customer, then went to offer help. she wasn't there. no one saw her leave, though they did see her come in. we checked both washrooms, the back room (which has a deadbolt which was still locked from the inside), and even ended up pulling up the curtains below the shelves, thinking she might be hiding out to rob us after closing. we didn't find her anywhere.

one time we had a power outage at the store but continued doing business due to the generator still working. my boss was in an aisle talking to a female customer, while this woman's male partner (or so i thought) stood a little behind them, arms crossed. he had a trucker cap pulled down over his eyes and seemed impatient. my boss and the female customer came to the counter, my boss rang her in, and the woman left. i said i was going to to check on the man, see if he needed anything, and my boss and co-worker asked 'what man?' they hadn't seen him at all, though i had seen him standing there quite substantially.

other little things happen there: a teacup flew off the shelf in the staff room as i did dishes, food falls off the shelves, once bread fell hard enough that the loaf turned completely around in its wrapper. makes for interesting times, if nothing else

I've SEEN two. My sisters and I used to own a restaurant. One night, after closing, I was in the back washing dishes when I saw a man walk across the dining room. All of the doors were locked, so there was no way for him to enter the building unless someone used a key. I went into the dining area to ask why he was there, but when I looked around the room he was gone. I searched the entire building asking employees if they had seen him. He was nowhere to be found, and no one had seen him.

He was very much there. After describing him to the employees (from the hat on his head to the boots he was wearing, even the way he walked), I realized that the man I saw was my uncle. It was amazing and I cried. He and I were very close, and I was out of town when he died. We didn't get a chance to say goodbye. I believe this is why he came. I felt so guilty about not being there during his last days. When I saw him in the restaurant, I wasn't nervous or afraid, in fact I felt completely relaxed. I haven't seen him since, but sometimes when I need a hug, I can smell his cologne. Other times, just out of the blue, I'll catch the strong scent of skoal. I don't know anybody now who wears the same cologne or dips.

The second was a woman who died in a room at a motel I worked at. I was cleaning the bathroom mirror, when I saw a tall blond woman walk into the room. Again, I went to see what she needed, but saw no one. When I started to make the bed, the cover felt as if someone was laying on it. I couldn't lift it. I asked who was there and a womans voice said “Tammy”. Again, I wasn't afraid and I explained that I needed to make the bed and asked her to move. She did, to the corner of the room, where she watched me make the bed and clean the room. I later learned from conversation with co-workers (I didn't mention the incident) that a woman had committed suicide in that room and her body was found on the bed I couldn't make.

A long “story” but very interesting….he is what brought about my original post, Apparition Caught on Video (http://www.mysticwicks.com/showthread.php?t=38361&page=1&pp=10[/url), posted on December 4th, 2003, 08:47 PM (the stories of my uncle and Tammy are in this thread too) stills of the video, full of "neat" stuff (http://www.geocities.com/diamondtiger26261/spirits.htm)

It all started this past July when we moved into a new house. The first week we were there “unexplainable” things began to happen. The water would turn on and off by its self. One night my bf was awakened by our dog Venus barking. He got up to see what all the commotion was about and found nothing. He said when he laid back down and closed his eyes; someone poked him in the shoulder very deliberately. He told me that he turned over to ask if I needed something and I was sound asleep. He closed his eyes again and was poked again, this time with more force. He said it felt like a finger so he looked at me again and I was still very much asleep. The light in our living room turns on and off with no aid, I think that’s just the wiring though. I’ve heard children playing outside and when I look there’s no one there. Once my bf was home alone and heard what sounded like someone walking up the steps to our front door. He went to see who was there but saw no one either inside or out of the house.

One night we were laying in bed with the lights off, talking about a movie we had just finished watching (Tears of the Sun) when the most uncomfortable feeling came over me. I felt as if we were being watched. I froze there in bed literally afraid to move because I felt like if I did someone would grab me. I asked my bf if he would please turn the light on and close the curtain, and explained why. He looked outside and around the house and found nothing, but I still couldn’t shake this feeling. Our other dog, Kimmi, was in the kitchen and wouldn’t follow him to the room like she always does. It really scared me; someone was standing at the foot of our bed watching us. It felt like the presence of a middle aged man whom I just shouldn’t talk to. Together we asked this “person” to leave and a few minutes later the feeling was gone and we were able to go to sleep. The same feeling returned one day when I was in my kitchen washing dishes. Someone was standing behind me watching me. I asked who was there, and heard the name “Willy”. I felt very nervous and scared, like I needed to protect myself. I told my bf and we decided to give this spirit a name (Pat, though I believed his name to be Willy) and treat him as a friend. We asked him to respect us and we shall return respect in kind. I explained to him our wishes and so far he is complying. The uncomfortable feeling of being watched is gone for me. Now, if I start to feel a bit “nervous”, I simply ask him to leave me with my thoughts because I’d like to be alone.

A few weeks ago, we were in bed asleep and I heard my daughter (5yrs) crying. I got up to check on her and she went back to sleep. The next day she said, “Mom, do you want to know why I was crying last night?” She told me that she’d had a bad dream and when she woke up she was calling me. She was crying because, to quote her, “I saw you standing by your door, but you wouldn’t answer me. It wasn’t you though mom, it was as big as you, but it was bright white, like a light.” I asked if what she saw scared her and she said no, it only hurt her feelings because it didn’t answer her.

I feel confident in calling him Willy now instead of Pat. Since this video was taken, we’ve done a lot of talking and thinking. My bf is somewhat skeptic, and doesn’t want to believe that we may actually have a ghost living with us. I myself would like to think that there is a logical explanation for all of this. I have never felt like I HAD to find Willy’s grave. After this video though, I did. My daughter and I walked over to the cemetery a couple of days ago. She asked what were doing and I told her not to talk, just think “Willy”. I closed my eyes and focused on that name. We held hands and started walking and as I opened my eyes, I felt as if something were pulling me in a certain direction. We walked to a corner in the cemetery, through some graves that I glanced at, and straight to a particular one then stopped. I looked at the marker and this is what it reads:

Roy Wilson McKinnon
S1 US Navy
WWII
May 27, 1919 – December 25, 1992

I can’t say for sure that this is “our Willy” but; since the video was shot and the grave was found, we have really become curious about him and more unexplainable things have happened. One night, my bf and I were in our living room talking when he heard the chair at this computer desk move. He thought it was the cat so he got up, to I guess move him away from the computer, but the cat was sleeping on the bar right behind us. Once last week when I was cooking, I set a fork down beside the pan my roast was on, turned around to talk to my bf, turned back around to carve the roast and the fork was gone. I looked all over the counter for that fork, the floor (thinking I might have actually dropped it), in the sink, it was not there. I said, “Okay Willy, put the fork back so I can finish getting supper ready.” I looked where I had left it and there it was. A couple of days ago, we were putting up new paneling on the ceiling in our living room. My bf was standing on a storage box looking at something when the box tipped and his feet went right out from under him. Now, the way he fell, he should have landed on his butt and probably hit his head against the wall. For some reason though, his upper body went forward, like he sat up. And he just sort of rolled to the right. Mind you, we were redoing our ceiling, so the place was a mess. Stuff everywhere, yet he didn’t hit anything. He landed safely and softly, catching himself with his hand on the floor. He said that his wrist or hand didn’t even hurt, and he doesn’t know how he ended up in that position. We can’t figure it out. There’s just no way he could have reacted THAT quickly when he wasn’t even 2 feet off the floor to begin with.

My question for diamondtiger... why don't you ask the spirits on the OtherSide to deal with this spirit? to send him home? Maybe that's what the spirit wants? No matter how much I'd like a spirit, if they want to go home to the spirit world, then I'd help send them. (but they better not scare me or else I won't be sane enough to do it. ) :ghostie:

I too have seen things out the corner of my eye....other than that I mostly get the feeling that I am not alone, like someone else is in the room besides me.

(but they better not scare me or else I won't be sane enough to do it. ) :ghostie:When I met Tammy at the motel, and heard what had happened in that room; I did exactly that. Willy was another thing though. We lived in that house until March of this year. During our time there a lot of unexplainable things happened. I felt like Willy knew what he was doing. There was never a feeling of sadness like there was when I met Tammy. We also had other “guests” in that house from time to time, and we saw quite a few orbs. We took pictures like crazy off and on, testing to see if our camera was messed up. Some were normal, some weren't. When we take pictures now, in our new place, they are just pictures. I'll post a few and you all can tell me what you think.

The house is across the street from the towns cemetery. We are not the “nosy” neighbor type, but here we kind of were. We started paying attention to the cemetery, and when we saw a funeral, we'd sort of watch from the kitchen window. Sometimes I'd get a true feeling of confusion and I would walk to the new grave and “introduce” myself. I know this sounds weird. I'd say something like “Hello, I'm so and so. I'm sorry about what happened to you. I don't know if you were sick or if an accident took you from this life. I do know that you are free from whatever pain or troubles you might have had. I watched your burial from a distance and a lot of people love you. Go and start your new journey, and be happy now, because this is what they'd want.” When I'd say this, the confused feeling would be gone.

One night, after we had gone to bed, we heard a child's voice. It was giggling. We check on my daughter every night before we turn in and she's always sound asleep. She was this night too. After the giggle we heard the clear sound of someone going through my daughter's video tapes (which were kept on the bottom shelf of a bookcase in the living room). I got up to see if she had gone in to get a movie, and she was still sound asleep.

My bf uses a zippo lighter. He always leaves it, with his smokes, by the computer when he comes to bed. One night after he came to bed we heard the distinct sound of a zippo being opened, lit and closed. We laughed and told Willy to make sure he didn't fall asleep with a lit cigarette. The next morning, thinking that the cat had probably knocked the lighter from where the bf had left it, I looked. It sat on top of his smokes just as it always does.

Part 2
We had a puppy, Bovu. He was my daughter's best friend. One morning when I was leaving to take my daughter to school, Bovu got out. We were running late and he wouldn't get in the car. Ours was the last road in a small country town, no high speed traffic and kids walk to school on it every morning. I was frustrated and decided to deal with the dog when I got back. Bad decision on my part. I returned home to Bovu laying on the side of the road; he'd been hit by a car. We buried him and went about our day. The bf and I both picked my daughter up that day so we could tell her what had happened. When we got home and pulled into the driveway, there was a bouquet of flowers in the yard. My bf and I were puzzled as to how they had gotten there (nothing like this had ever happened before). My daughter said, “Mom, Willy brought them for Bovu”, then picked them up and “planted” them on his grave. They kept coming after that. Every morning I'd get up to a different color of flower, or bouquet, laying in the front yard. My daughter thought it was sweet and always thanked Willy for bringing them.

My bf likes to hunt. A month or so after Bovu died we decided to find a dog that my daughter might bond with, and that would make a good hunting partner. We discussed different breeds, looked through newspaper ads and made phone calls. We ended up at the shelter, with the intention of leaving with a certain dog they had listed on their site. Now usually they keep the medium and large dogs in the back. (We weren't looking back there that day, which is where this dog should have been.) When we walked in, there he was, the perfect dog. It wasn't Sheba, though she was there. In the last cage on the bottom row stood Willy. He caught our eyes at the same time, and we agreed that he was the one. We had him taken out of the cage and he immediately took to us, and we to him. The funny thing was, on the adoption papers his name was Wayne. A bit of a difference than Willy, which is what his ID paper on the cage read. Wayne/Willy. I don't guess I need to tell you which name stuck.

My daughter never really bonded with Willy in the way I hoped she would. She'll play with him, but her heart belongs to Bovu and that's okay. He loved to play tug-o-war, and he used to pull on her sleeves. He'd pull her and she'd “fall” to the ground, where he'd “attack” her with kisses. A few times while we were outside or riding in the car (after he died), she said out of the blue, “Stop that.” I asked her what she was talking about and she'd ask, “Did you pull on my sleeve?” I didn't do it and I'd tell her this. She'd say “Huh,” and go about her business. Then she would laugh and say, “Stop it Bovu.” One time when this happened in the car, she started crying. I asked her what was wrong and she said, “He's here mom, I can feel him trying to play with me. I'm sad because I can't see him and play back.” That broke my heart and I decided that we should ask Bovu to go and play with my bf's Akita who had been put to sleep. We did this and she hasn't said anything about him pulling her sleeves since.

And then there's Venus. The dog that I mentioned in my first post about Willy. “One night my bf was awakened by our dog Venus barking. He got up to see what all the commotion was about and found nothing.” She doesn't always like to be inside at night, and our yard wasn't fenced. We made tethers and built dog houses for the two girls, so they could be outside at times too. One night Venus wanted out, so we put her on her tether. She's a big girl, so we took care that she wouldn't get lose by securing her cable with a 10lb weight plate from an Olympic barbell set. When my bf got up the following morning, Venus was across the street. He called her and she came inside with him. Now, Venus isn't a mean dog but she will guard her property. Her tether was right outside our bedroom window. If somebody had come into the yard and removed the plate, we would have heard her growl and bark (and probably heard some cursing from the person at the very least). She couldn't have removed the weight herself, it was impossible (we made sure of that). Hmmmmm.... So how did the weight get removed and she get lose? He found the weight laying right beside the post her tether was on.

I've seen a fair amount of ghosts I suppose. I said "female" on the poll because of the ghosts I've actually *seen* female seems to be the majority. Once when I was very little I was sitting on my bed reading a book, I looked up and saw a very slender man sitting at the foot of my bed. He was wearing tattered, dirty clothes and while he didn't seem particularly threatening, I certainly didn't recognize him. I started screaming "Mommy mommy there's a man with a dirty shirt on my bed!!" She came running in and found me sitting by myself pointing at the foot of my bed. I kept pointing, insisting he was there. I also refused to sleep there that night and eventually my parents moved me to another room temporarily. In retrospect he could easily have been the ghost of a mill worker. That house was literally across the street from a very old steel mill, the house was one of a bunch that the steel company built for it's shift supervisors so that they could live close to work.

When I was in college, I lived in a (relatively) old dormitory, dating back almost to my school's founding 80 years ago and instances of seeing ghostly women walking the halls were well known. In my 4 years there I used to see a woman walking down the hallway all the way to the end where there was nothing but a window. I never got a really good look at her, I got an impression of a tall girl with long wavy hair. The floor I lived on was reputedly the most haunted in the building, other students had different encounters of varying intensity. Some students were so disturbed that they had the entire floor blessed by catholic priests. (It was a catholic women's college.)

Currently I live in a house that my grandparents owned and lived in for fifty years. Since moving in there have been scores of strange experiences by both my best friend/housemate and myself, mostly in the form of inexplicable power surges, noises with no traceable cause, etc.

I have seen them. I didn't take the poll because I have seen many of them. I have two children that reside in my home with us. One is a boy and one is a girl. The girl is about 5 and the boy is younger, I would say about 18 months. They enjoy playing with the kids electronic toys. For a while, they would play with the tv all night long, and they also enjoy the smoke detectors. There is nothing like getting woke up several times a night to your smoke dectectors going off.

Living in an old hotel/boarding house that is 127 years old. Every now and then we get an extra visitor in the bathroom. He seems to walk through the door, sort of absent mindedly. You don't see if if you look directly at him, but only when your eyes are focused on something else.

Right where our shower is now there used to be a door into what was either a work space or a sort of dorm for the quarry workers.

yes. ive seen ghosts, dark shadows/clouds on the ceilings and walls, lights, ect. they freaked me out when i was younger, but not any more. one of the spirits is a friend of mine, he is my "gaurdian ghost", i have sent him on two seprate occasions to two different people to protect them from harm. the reason i say he is a friend of mine, is because he was friend in life as well.

Yes actually. My mom's house has a resident "ghost" it's a young girl she's appeared to me and to others in the house on several different occasions. She is always crying. It's kinda sad. _inabox_

Curious question, how many ppl have actually seen a ghost? or think they've seen one?

My father came to me after he died. :wah: He gave me messages to give to my mother because she's blocking him. Usually she receives well, but she's not taking his death well at all. Hopefully she'll open to his signal soon.

I've seen others, but I don't like calling them "ghosts". That gives a bad image of spooks and goblins. They are the Disembodied. Heh... So PC, isn't it? I also like to just say, "I had a visit from _insert name here_ (or) _insertdescription of the being_."

I'm not voting because I've seen/talked to/heard lots of ghosts. Unfortunately, the house we're in now doesn't seem to have ghosts in it, although I am afraid of the hallway when nighttime comes. ^_^

When I was young, I used to have an 'imaginary friend' which I think was a ghost, simply because the name 'Belinda' is kind of weird for a little girl to pull out of the blue. Also, when I moved to my house in CA when I was little, there was, a few times that I saw, a blue glow in front of my mom's room. The one time I could completely see what it was, I had had a nightmare, and I got up with my pillow to go and crawl into my mom's bed. I got to my door (my mom's door was across the hall) and looked into the hallway. I saw that the blue glow was actually a boy ghost.

Also, I moved to Weiser, ID at one point, and moved into this old college library building from 1918. There were quite a few ghosts there that I could sense. There was an old woman in the attic, an angry male ghost on the top floor, mainly in the back corner. There was a very friendly male ghost who would roam around the stairs, the big back bathroom, and my bedroom, and then there were a few children ghosts who would play around, and one older ghost, who wore a plaid shirt and would knock on either the window or the door. :3

The friendly ghost was my favorite. When I was growing up in that house, my parents said they would look into my room while I was reading a book, and that he would be there reading a book with me. I think that he had played in the band at the college when it was a college. He liked pushing my friend over when she was walking up the steps to my bathroom, because he knew she was afraid of him.

My favorite stories:
1) He once turned on my music box, which can only be turned on by flipping a switch in the back, and scared the crap out of my friends.
2) Me and my friend were played Zelda, and he ended up fudging the game slightly so that we could make it to the princess! :D Unfortunately, it got stuck and we had to restart. ^_^; It was very sweet, though.
3) There was one time where I was walking into the bathroom. The shower curtain was closed, but I knew no one was home, but I was going to check behind it anyways. I saw the curtain move slightly as I got closer to it, and as I threw the curtain back, I saw a sort of 'shadow' float up and dissappear, and I heard him give a shout. ^_^ I laughed at him and said, 'I can't see you anyways.'
4) I had lost my tights one time, and while I was looking for them, I was accusing my ghost of having taken them, since he had previously taken my pantyhose. o.O Just after I said, 'I know you took them, now where are they?!', my mind heard him reply with, 'I didn't take your tights.. *sigh* You put them in the top drawer of your dresser.' And, sure enough, that's where they were...

He was a sweet ghost, but he didn't talk to me or play with me or my tights much more after that.

I also will occationally see spirits of some sort roaming around, although I mainly can 'sense' them. I went into a cave once, where I saw something jump at me, and then I had a 'laughing' feeling nearby. <.< The ghosts with mean humor I don't care for much...

EDIT: Oh! My ghost would also turn off my alarm clock if he thought I needed more sleep, or if I was very, very, very tired..

I've seen many things. When I was younger we lived in a very old house in KY. (that's where I was born and raised mostly). This particular ghost was a poltergiest and liked to open and shut doors, turn on lights, sit and rock in the rocking chair and jiggle door knobs. When we moved, he moved with us. However, I didn't see him until I was a lot older. When we moved to VA. he used to move things, turn on the vaccum cleaner and even be so close that when Daddy sat in his reading chair with the radio on, the ghost would turn the dial. He finally had to unplug his stereo because the ghost would turn it on very loud in the middle of the night. He guarded us too.

He would pace up and down the hall checking the front and back doors. He scared Julia when she was very young but I warned him not to do that again. So he didn't.

There was also one night that I woke up to some old woman standing at my bed too. Not sure why but she never appeared again after that night. Scared the crap outta me!

Here at my house I have seen many things too. There was an older couple that lived in my trailer. The husband died. When we were moving into the trailer, my at the time bf was unpacking stuff and moving stuff around. I was going from the car trunk to the trailer putting boxes in and out. It was dark out. I had gone outside to put the box in and saw someone standing at the shed door. I thought it was my bf but he was inside....So, yeah. I've seen a few ghosts.

Also when they touch you it's kind of an electrical shock feeling. Very odd. That hasn't happened a lot.

I did a lot of research when I was younger. I wanted to be a parapsychologist, but didn't really pursue it. I get a kick out of those TV shows like "Fear" and what not. They are asking for things to happened there! So they get it in my eyes.

Being exposed to those things as a young child, helped me develop a lot of what powers I have today.

i picked female, since that's the majority.
although it doesn't happen so much anymore, there are still a few stories.

one of the earliest encounters happened when i was around 7-8. my family and i were at our village house. it's a big house which wasn't finished, so there were no walls separating any of the rooms. in fact, the whole house was one big cube, with our beds in 3 corners, and the stove in the 4th. anyways, one night, after everyone had already falled asleep, i was up reading late. finally, i put the book away and went to bed myself. soon after, i heard a voice. it was a very beautiful soft feminine voice singing a song. i couldn't not understand the words, but i remember feeling mixed things about it. on one hand, i was frightened, and on the other...it was just too beautiful.
finally, i wanted to locate where it was coming from. i checked the tv and the radio- both were switched off. i checked through all of the windows to see if maybe someone was singing outside- but there was nothing. i tried waking up my mom to see if she heard it- she didn't.

about 2 years ago i was out in the country with my 2 friends. the land with an old house and a forest was bought by my ethnic community a long time ago, and me and my 2 friends ( one of them was in charge of taking care of the land and the other one lived nearby ) were spending time there. one day, and it was getting quite cold, Harold and I went for a walk in the forest, chatting away. we got to the edge of it, and hit a field. we walked down a bit, still talking, as i saw a man out of a corner of my eye. he was standing on the side of the field, he was a large man, wearing black and unshaven. immediately, i turned back to see him better, but he vanished. within next few minutes, though, i caught a few more glimpses of him- he was just staring at me and Harold. all i remember is getting this completely horrified feeling. by the time we got to the house, i was nearly shaking of fear, and i couldn't really explain to Harold and Chuck what i was scared of, and all they were saying was that they would protect me if anything happened. i just sensed the huge danger outside, watching, waiting, getting ready....
so i went into one of the rooms and did a prayer and small protection chant,,,repeating it over and over, asking that the source of danger is banished.
about 20 min later, it was gone. i felt fine, warm and safe, to the point where i actually left the house in the middle of the night ( there is a field and a small lake.. no light anywhere, only Moon light) and walked to the lake enjoying the stillness and the first snow flakes hitting my face.
in the morning, before returning to the city, i wanted to walk to the lake again. as i did, i recognized my footprints from the night walk...and behind those, were the pawprints of a wolf. ( judging by the depth of both prints, made at approximately the same time). was the wolf watching over me then?

*smiles* I've not seen or heard anything lately, except for a dream where my grandfather visited with me a few nights ago. He was very pleased that I've been so happy lately and we chatted for what seemed like forever on recent events in my life. We weren't very close for a few years, but I was able to see him about 3 weeks before he died, and everyone back home told me how happy he'd been to see me. After his funeral, my dad and uncles were having a very hard time with his dying, and Grampa came to me in several dreams, letting me know everything was alright, that he knew I was strong, and I could help them get over the grief, he had complete faith in me and that I would always be his little girl. A few weeks later, stress from work and things had been starting to really get to me, and I was driving home, when I got the strongest scent of firegear, which, if you know a firefighter, it's like a mixture of boots, smoke, sweat, cologne, etc. all mingled together. Grampa had been a firefighter, as well as most of the men in my family so it's always been a very comforting scent to me... all I could do at the time was smile and tell Grampa thank you for being there.

Ever since I can remember though, I've seen things out of the corner of my eyes, glimpses of people and animals. I've heard voices calling my name, when no one was around, or no one present had called for me. Never have been completely sure if they were ghosts, or whatever, but *shrugs* :)

One of the strongest shadows I've ever seen was back when I was working as manager of a convenience store, and had ended up working double shifts, because second shift had called in sick. I was dead tired, and closing up the store, when a very tall, thin, definitely male figure dressed in a long black duster walked in front of the window of the store. I didn't see any specific features, only I got a very distinct feeling I was in danger, and he was in some way warning me. I'm not one to scare that easily when I'm alone, but I was shaking and ended up calling the cops, who came to patrol the area around the store. Turns out, in the parking lot behind the building, the cops found a couple of guys, just "hanging around", drinking and chased them off. Whether they were thinking of robbing the store or what, I don't know, but I'm very glad for my shadow dude, because I wouldn't have seen the car and certainly wouldn't have called the cops.

I've also seen my greatgrandmother, when I was 11 or 12 - just after she died, both my grandmother and I saw her walking down the hallway to her room.

I voted no, but I'm honestly not sure. I may have seen one for a split second when I was a kid. I'm still not sure whether I imagined it or not. It was a guy in a suit, tall and vaguely threatening. He was standing near the sewing room door. Then I looked again, and there was nobody there.

I absolutely have seen ghosts, Right now there are two in my house, a man and a woman who love to waltz at night. One house i lived in several years ago had one ghost that loved to sneak in on people in the bathroom and turn the light out. She floated above my bed at night gazing down at me, flipped the dresser over when my 11 yr old stepson was screaming at me , would turn off the tv if she felt it was too late for us to be up- and you couldn't ever turn it back on until the following morning! She did so much, its too numerous to list. I really miss her! LOL

I have a Pultergeist (I hope I spelled that right!) that lives in my barn, I believe that it is of Male energy but I'm not sure! So I call him Peeves (After the one in the Harry Potter books! I couldn't think of one more fitting.)

When I was 18 (back in 1989) we went to stay at a beach house along the NC coast, across from the shore. One night my cousin and I hear the sound of someone whispering and we woke up to see what looked like a figure composed of smoke before it faded away.

Years later I told the story to my wife and she pulled out a copy of a book called Tarheel Ghosts and showed me a legend about a "smoky looking" specter that appears along the coast to warn people whenever a hurricane is approaching. Well, when we we're staying it was less than a month before Hurricane Hugo slammed into the coast in September 1989.

Well, last summer I went back to visit that beach and went to show my wife the house we used to stay at and it was gone, along with several other houses on that end of the island. When I asked a local what happened to them, he told me they were washed away by Hugo! *que spooky music now*

I have seen and felt them since I was a child. There have only been a couple of times that I have felt a manevolent one. The house we live in now has a spirit. I have never seen him but I feel him all the time. My oldest daughter who is 5 we have caught several times over the past four years, that we have lived here, talking to him. Bad thing was it was 3 in the morning. He hasn't done it in awhile because as my daughter started getting older she started to be more afraid. He's never been anything but nice. I will feel him as I go upstairs and I will feel a chill for a second and then he's gone. Kind of like he's saying hello, but I'll get out of your way now. :floating:

i've never actually seen a ghost, but i've definitely felt them plenty of times. the most recent incident was a few months ago. I woke up at five o clock in the morning, and my overhead lights were on. i did not turn them on, i was positive. then suddenly, i was shrouded in this fear, like oh my god theres someone in this room, even though there was clearly nobody in the room. then i felt something large sit on the end of my bed. i heard the bed creak and i actually felt the weight of something, but there was no one there. the next morning, the sugar bowl went psycho. im not kidding. the top flew off and crashed against the wall. it was really weird. and sometimes i hear footsteps outside my door.

I've never seen a ghost but I can verify someone else's ghost story. One saturday morning, I was playing on the computer and my then girlfriend was having a lie-in. Around 10:30 she called out to me asking if I had just been in the bedroom. I said no, she asked me again and told me I better not be messing around. She sounded unreasonably angry with me (it seemed at the time, actually quite scared) considering I'd done nothing. At around 11:00, her mother phoned, informing us her great granmother had died half an hour ago.

My basement was haunted growing up... I saw strange lights and heard strange sounds... and strange unexplainable things happend... and eventually when I was older I was down there with my camera and a voice said to me..point your camera at the couch..take a picture..you will see me... I thought I was nuts...I was not!!! I got the pics back....sure enough there was the perfect detailed outline of a man... what I thought to be a black man because of the texture I could see around his hair... it was strange../... and then recently my friend and I and a group of his friends when the the R.J. Taylor Memorial Hospital in hawkinsville GA... well lets just say this was a very interesting experience... Ill copy past my post from my online journal for you to read and also post the link where you can hear from others about this place and hear two recordings of while noise...

ummm....okay tonight was a interesting night... I figured nothing would really happen today... I went with daniel to columbus GA to see his grandmothers family...we came back...he went off with his homies....and I was just chillin at home....did'nt think there would be much more to that.... Joey B. called me after meeting me yesterday and we were talking and all of a sudden I get a call from daniel telling me to meet him in macon....I could'nt cuz my car is crap!...but thats besides the point...so he tells me that they are plainning on going to the haunted hospital in hawkinsville GA....that ive heard much about and have been invited to go many times, but I never went....mainly cuz I did'nt want to get busted by cops.... so tonight I agreed to go...he showed up with all his new friends at about 1.30am...and we were off...there were probrably 12 of us...mostly guys but 2 other chicks...who were by the way annoying!!!....but im gettin ahead of myself... anyways...I guess it was curiosity and bordom...although I already believe in ghosts and spirits...and also believe in haveing respect for them(I also wanted to go to see if I could help whatever was there, which there was no helping them)....daniels the same way....we don't really want to turn them into a freak show...dunno what got into us.... I guess curiousity...my basement was haunted Ive had experience...but nothing like this.......damn!!!! it was the old taylor memorial hospital, most everyone had been there before....sept me and daniel and tiny and I think the 2 other chicks...we get there and we were being careful not to get busted for tresspassing and then were on our way up to this huge intemidating building...emediatly you feel werid....(before I left with daniel I had made sure not to get myself freaked out... I went calm and ready... and open to what would happen so this is no lie)....we walk into the main building...we make our way up the stairs and were on the second floor going to the third floor and daniel and I are at the end of the line...we both keep turning around...we felt someone behind us and heard walking behind us and the pace started out slow and then got faster...we stoped it stoped...we turned around and kept walking and it started again.... we ended up in a old operating room and closed the door.... tons of orbs.... cigerette buts that were still burning went out.... we heard a woman ask "why are you here" a few of us heard the voice of what was thought to be a old angry man say"get out"!!!! and "get the Love out, this is not a Loveing freak show"(sorry for the profanity but this is what was said)..... an old burned woman was seen bye daniel....we heard and all saw a woman crawling on the floor....people passing the room....stomping up the stairs.... painful moaning.... people heard a little girl, babies crying...someone said they felt a hand hold there hand...through the window you could see something walk up and down the hall stop and look into the room through the circular OR window and keep going and then one time it came in... I saw a woman in green...like hospital gowns...someone heard a baby crying... lots of very! cold spots....and huge range of emotions....overwhelming!!!some spots you would tear up not from fear..it just happend, there was a small red light in the room and it would get bigger and bigger and more violent and then would get small, people could'nt breath in a certain spot because they claimed they felt like one of those medical tubes were going doen thier throat...and it happend all in the same spot! and I even felt it!...(daniel tryed automatic writing, where you hold the pen and something else moves it...he wrote on his arm...when someone turned on the flashlight daniel had pretty legable initials on his arm...A.V. something I forgot the rest, he was tripped out!!!).....daniel and I both agreed we wanted to get out... it was to much for us to take...we felt we did'nt need to be there...and we felt we were there for all the wrong reasons "an extreme uhhohh feeling" also given to us from what we heard and just a feeling in general we got... but no one else wanted to leave....so they gave us a flash light and had us go back.... we get in the hall by ourselves and we go aways down and daniel felt someone push on him and we felt something behind us and more than one presance...we both froze afraid to go further because we were afraid of what more we would see or what would happen.... he got pushed back and I turned around to ask what was wrong....he said he was pushed and I turnd to look at him better and behind daniel against an old bathroom I saw a big stern black man and jumped and yelped and froze...everyone came out asking us what happend we told em.... so they showed us the way out because everyone else wanted to see more... so we waited in the car and talked about what we saw, felt and felt about it all in general....daniel said he wished he did'nt go.... we saw a sherif and got a bit nourvous... by this time it was 4:00 am and so people were about to start getting up... I mean this place is smack middle in hawkinsville in the city....so fineally everyone comes out and I get out with daniel to go talk to them and we see a light in one of the windows and it goes out and at the very top of the building no lie we all see someone in the window watching us leave and then it was gone... none of this was a joke!!!! all true!!!..and I left somethings out because this was just too much to take in... I was trying to find out some history ... all we know was what daniel described was an old burned woman..and we knew for a fact afterwards a guy that knows much about the place said there was an old woman that died there that was very badly burned..... after that we got he hell outta there to avoid any cops.... got home around 5:00 am... heres some info on the place and a picture....I ain't goin back!!!.... come to find out theres a bunch of haunted places in hawkinsville....did not know that....

http://www.dca.state.ga.us/economic/redevopp/TaylorHosp.JPG

it was opened in 1939 and had additions and work up to 1964...it closed down sometime in the 70's

I lator found some history about a woman that worked there that fell ill with hepatitius and did her work from her bed in the hospital and died there... and there was a black janitor that died there....a little girl that was molested bye one of the doctors there and died...

I found like an huge list of old newspaper articles from hawkinsville and polaski county in general and as you read through it you read about very promanent families and then there death in the hospital....so there was alot...

I did'nt really think there was much history in hawkinsville but there is....and this hospital was the only hospital south of macon at one period in time....so there must of been alot that happend here...

heres a link of recordings and pics although there hard to find, not just from here but from everywhere...not great...but sumptin... but scroll to the bottom for the recordings from this place...

There’s a brother and sister that live in my house (it’s an old farm house). The brother is far more active then the sister, and the sister doesn’t tend to show up without her brother, but they’ve been rather quiet recently. They mainly come out when we’re doing something to the house.
They don't really scare me so much as I'm not really sure if they know that they're dead. They just tend to make me uneasy when they’re around.

well a lot of hospitals will have ghosts in them. I can't say all. As well as churches and of course graveyards.Believe it or not i have not heard too much reports of ghosts in graveyards. Most common place is usually where someone died.

As a general rule. if anyone thinks they saw a ghost. Try to find out the history of the house or area. See if anyone was murdered or just died there. if someone died there chances are you saw that person`s ghost. There was one ghost investigator where he took his team to Rayham Hall in Long Island,NY and found at least one ghost there. This ghost lived in the 1700's. So far they are still studying it as well as other incidents.i too have seen many a ghost in my house years ago.

I keep seeing Sugar (our Pit baby, who passed away in October) laying in the front yard beside the Jeep. I want to cry every time I see her, but then I notice that she looks so healthy and happy... and well, I smile. It feels good to know that she loved us so much in her life, that she wants to be near us in death. :)

When I was very little, about 1 or 2, I used to get feelings of being watched, and shadows and movement from corner of my eyes. That feeling persisted til my great aunt made me a magical talisman to wear around my neck and I promptly forgot mostly about them.

When I was around 7 years old and left alone alot at home, I used to hear alot of background talking, like in a crowded cafe but there was nobody around. If I stared at the wall paper too long they would animate themselves and start to speak.

One night I fell asleep in the study, I was woken up by something talking really loud. I opened my eyes and the santa xmas ornament I was playing with in my hand had a bluish glow around its head and talking to me. I was so scared I threw it in the corner and ran out back to my room and slammed the door.

The voices stopped when I was around 9 or 10 years old, one day I woke up and everything was crystal clear. It used to be so hazy before that with alot of voices then that one day it was like everything in life made sense.

I think since I have moved to the states, the only time I ever saw something was during one samhain when there was a mistlike form outside my bedroom and the temperture dropped all of a sudden. But it was over so fast I couldn't tell if it was just my imagination.

i've never really saw one, but i feel them sometimes. My sister, when we were little said she used to see purple and orange ghosts.

I think it was more of the old house we lived in. No one could argue the fact that there was something there. As we could figure there was at least 3-4 ghosts in that house.

I remember one was always there to comfort me and the other....the other would try and kill me or so it would seem....

I've seen both male and female, as well as the "amorphous ball of light" type.

I work in an old building that has a lot of psychic energy build up and haunts are fairly common there.

One thing that was interesting is that for a long while I didn't see them well ... they were intimidated by me. It wasn't until I made it clear that I wasn't there to move them out or interfere with them in any way that they got more "friendly." There are areas, mostly upstairs, that female staff won't enter at night because of the hauntings.

well i heard of green colored orbs in only two places. both generated heavy negativity in the area and people of criminal nature died there. both instances the description was a green orb with a man's face. There are also orange and blue orbs as well. not familar on what they are. White is the most common.

Curious question, how many ppl have actually seen a ghost? or think they've seen one?

Several in fact...

The first one was the grandmother of my old landlord. She lived in the apt for many years. The first week I lived there she appeared in the hall, solid as you or me, and spooked the heck outta me. Yes, he verified it was her from my description.

In the early 90's I saw 2 ghosts and felt a cold spot at a place called Spy House in NJ. The guy who took me thought it would be "fun" to take me to a place that was haunted and not tell me to see if I was a psychic as I claimed. I saw two children in colonial dress on the lawn, and in all innocence asked the caretaker of the place if they were part of the show. They weren't....

Then in the upstairs hall I got a bad vibe from one of the rooms and couldn't go in. I sensed a bondage type atmosphere in what seemed to be an ordinary bedroom. Turns out the place was once a bordello for pirates and that not all the girls there were there of their own accord. Lastly, same place, in the kitchen I walked through a cold spot, and that REALLY spooked me as it was 87* outside at the time...

Since then I've seen my late Mom once, and a figure in a graveyard, looking very depressed and forlorn....

Yeah, you could say "I see dead people...."

I've been told I have the ability to be a medium.

It does seem to be a talent given to me, but I am doing my best to ignore it because I just cannot go there, period.

Freaks me out to no end, and I will NOT go there.

Not for a million bucks.

Not out of altruism.

It's not being psychic that freaks me out. It's having dead people in my living room that I object to....

I can handle the occasional premonition, or odd incidence of telepathy, but seeing ghosts is NOT a pleasurable thing for me. I just don't like it. It creeps me out.

Yeah, I think I've heard them, at least I've gotten the jist of why they're here, but I don't care. I am not into being a mouthpiece for every dead guy or gal in the universe. I believe I have the right to choose what I will hear and see and that if I don't want to, it's okay....I'm not sure they agree with me sometimes, but there you go...

I actually used to live in right by a graveyard, as in it was literally in my backyard, and sometimes I used to get a horrid headache. It got so bad I had to move. I would get this impression of dozens of people chattering at each other, all earthbound for some reason. It about drove me nuts.

The dead are not always quiet....

It could be my imagination playing tricks on me, I hope, but I have my doubts, as I also had a strange incident when I lived in NYC that I just can't dismiss.

My roomies and I were coming back from dinner and there was an accident. Some girl on a motorcycle got killed under an underpass right before we got there. They had almost cleaned up, and we couldn't see what was going on because they had firetrucks sitting there blocking the view. We came down the L stairs to see a bunch of flashing lights, but didn't know what was up exactly.

I suddenly got this CRUSHING pain in the back of my of my head that was so intense I thought I was going to throw up right there. I heard a scream in my head, and then I nearly passed out. My roomies got me home, and then later we found out about the accident, and how the girl died. No helmet, and she flew off the back of her boyfriend's bike and crushed the back of her skull....

I remember saying "Someone died." to my roomates, and them spending most of the night praying for whoever it was. Me, I remember the girl being there in my head and me saying "No, I'm sorry but you're dead now and you have to go home." The headache lasted for about an hour, and I just found myself repeating that until I think she finally got the message and went.

It was a very upsetting experience for me, really. Don't get me wrong, I am very sorry that anyone had to die that way, but I don't ever want to go through something like that again, and since I have avoided doing so.

I do NOT wish to do anything like that again, ever....

It's not a house, it's a revolutionary war era inn.

It's up in northern Jersey somewhere near NYC. It has a "real" name too, but they mostly call it "Spy House." That's all I remember other than the fact that it was one freaky place to be in. If you go? You'll run into something there. You may not see kids walking across the lawn but even the person I was with who admits to having almost no abilities in that directlon, felt severely spooked. I honestly think the place is crawling with ghosts, or whatever, and as curious as he was? I couldn't wait to get out of there!

Morrighan, a similar thing happened to me on New Year's Eve. I was driving out to visit friends and passed the scene of an accident. At the first premonition that this was a serious crash I started to put up my shields but I wasn't quite quick enough. I got a nasty headache but shielded most of it. Then I was aware that someone else was in the car with me and I knew she was dead and hurting and very confused. For the next 15 minutes I was driving and talking to this dead soul, explaining as gently as possible that there had been a crash, and it was very bad, and I was so sorry but she did not survive.

I told her to look for the tunnel with the light at the end and if she would go through the tunnel to the light there were several of her loved ones waiting for her there. OOPS. The reason she crashed the car was because she was blinded by oncoming lights. I just kept reassuring her that this time the light was a safe place and there were people waiting for her there. Then I came to my turnoff and I cleansed my aura and basically booted her out of my car at that point. I think she probably decided to go through the tunnel because I haven't felt or heard her since then.

I don't actually 'hear' or 'see' ghosts, but I can sense them. I think I would have been pretty freaked out if I could have actually seen this woman sitting next to me in my car, especially since she was pretty crushed in the crash.

Male, female, young, old...all of them. They are kind of everywhere...spirts too, which are different - - if by ghosts you mean remnants of dead people and poltergeists which are psychic projections of living beings. It's been pretty common since I was a kid. I guess not everyone can see ALL of them. Some are weaker and some are stronger, and we all have varying degrees of perception. :broomride

there were documented cases of ghosts still micking being hurt. there was one case a housewife who died in a car wreck, they still saw her ghost linked to the wrecked car in the junkyard.floating around and confused. also if she was confused and still living something would have corrected Lunacie's mistake.

what you might have to do is seek out a medium or someone to train you to tune out and (unfortunately for you)tune in the voices.

what about seeing other things like faerie or other beings not human?

I've never see the Fey, though I've sensed them. But they don't scare me. Dead people, now that's scary....I've been offered the training. Didn't care to...One gift I am not cultivating....

I've seen a few dragons and one in my dreams. But only in the Astral. Guess it could be just my imagination.

Someone told me once that I belonged to a separate group of people... The ones that saw dragons. I wish I knew what she meant.

hmmm was that a good idea? what if she was hurt but still alive? You might have just told her spirit to leave her body...

No, she was quite dead. Connecting with someone who is dead and someone who is living 'feel' quite different. At least they do to me.

I use to work in a Nursing Home. At night when I walked by the kitchen I use to see this face in the windwo on the door. It was a little boxed shaped thing so you could not see much more then a face. It had four fangs two on the bottom and two on the top. It had very tiny eyes. I am use to seeing things but this was even a little bit much for me. A few years after I quit my job I was talking to my Mom about what I saw there. She looked at me and said "So it's still there. I saw it when I worked there back in the 70's" I have not been back there but, I wonder if it is still there? If people do not belive in ghosts I say work about six months to a year in a nursing home and they will at lest give it a second thought.

I've seen ghosts as long as I can remember. I used to live three houses down from a fairly old graveyard, so it wasn't uncommon to have someone occasionally wander through our house.
My best friend lived in the house directly next to the graveyard, and while we played in her room, there were constantly people walking down the hall past her doorway. She didn't see the ghosts at first, until I pointed them out, but after that, she spent the night at my house a lot until she got used to them.
They just looked like regular people, just out of the corner of my eye, that would vanish when I actually tried to focus on them. They weren't scary at all. In fact, my favorite place to go read was under the big oak tree in the middle of the cemetary.
I've moved around a lot, and everywhere I've lived there were ghosts or at least very odd things happening. I lived in a small house with my mom and brother after my parents got divorced that was haunted by a little girl that died at the age of seven. Her parents were in their seventies and lived in a newer home across the street, so I got to learn all about her, which explained a lot about the ladybugs that overran the place all year long and the roses that bloomed in the middle of January (her birthday).
Gah, too many more hauntings. I even had a ghost dog at one point. I actually tripped over it one night. Very strange feeling to trip over something cool and furry that I couldn't see. It was it's own fault though. It tended to curl up at my feet at night while I was on the computer.

Yes, I've seen ghosts, or at least I assume they were ghosts. One, a large man resembling a lumberjack, strolled through my living room, into the kitchen and then into thin air. I saw only his back and was most impressed by his broad shoulders- they filled the doorway. He was also very tall. He did not frighten me at all, on the contrary, I got up to follow him. A week or so later, my daughter related seeing the same person walking in the opposite direction. She also, only saw his back and did not feel intimidated by his presence. He has not yet returned. I hope he found whatever he was looking for or completed his journey.
My daughter and I have seen another ghost at different times-the nursing home ghost related by Dental Witch. I saw him about twenty years earlier than she and am sorry to say that he seems to be as malevolent as ever. Many renovations have since been made to this particular nursing home since my daughter's last ghost sighting. I can only hope that whatever bound him remains intact, but I fear it has been turned into a main entrance. He now has a portal.
I have twice seen death lurking in the shadows of someone near death. One was a very elderly lady and the other, an 18-month-old just back from emergency surgery. I spoke to death both times. Death did not reply. I have know idea what I would have done if it did!
I heard my father's voice seven years after his death and also the voices of "the ghosts of summer." We live on the Jersey Shore and would often bike ride along the boardwalk in the autumn. While riding through what we called "the casino" we heard, voices, laughter and the sound of amusement games and rides. My daughter and I were not he only ones there. We were, however, the only ones who seemed to hear the sounds of summers past.
I could relate a few more experiences, but this reply has grown quite long. Perhaps another time.

Once, either that or it was my mind playing tricks on me.

I just got home from work and the light is near the bed so I shut it off and there was a female ghost at the edge of my bed. I jumpped up so quick that I turned the light on and it was gone. I shut the light off again and the appraition was gone. So I couldn't really tell you. It just freaked me out. After that I moved. lol

I saw what I believe was a 'ghost' several years ago in England. I'm English by birth, only been in the US for two years, and, in one house I lived in, I saw two unexplainable .. uhhh .. manifestations on two separate occassions?

One time, the first, I was alone in the house and I went for a bath. The bathroom was on the second floor (third floor for you Yanks :p). After my bath I opened the bathroom door to an area that led to the stairs. At the top of the stairs I saw a girl, maybe 10/12 years old and dressed in Victorian-style clothing, standing there looking over a banister rail right at me. She was quite clear, but a little--for want of a better word--ethereal. I could, almost but not quite, see right through her. We looked at each other for an eternity which, in real terms, was about one second before my courage failed me and I locked myself back in the bathroom LOL When I came out a few minutes later, very carefully, I might add, she was gone.

The second sighting was a while later while I was lying in bed with my wife. I opened my eyes and looked towards the open bedroom door and saw a tall... I mean really tall... man dressed in black and wearing a top hat just standing there staring at me. I can tell you... my head ducked under the blankets and stayed there LOL Hell, I never said I was brave :p

Another tale is that, aftre we had moved to a new house, I got up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom. I didn't put the light on as the bathroom was directly opposite my bedroom door. On my way to the bathroom I felt something brush across my leg. I mean deliberately touched me. We didn't have any pets so you can imagine that I let out a yell that I'm surprised didn't wake up the neighbourhood and dived back into the bedroom. Can you imagine my embarrassment on this occassion when my young daughter said, "Dad? I'm only going to the toilet." LOL

The first two I cannot explain ... the third was almost patricide on my daughters part :)

I could sense my ex hanging around on Tuesday, the day I took our 3 year old granddaughter in for dental surgery. Other people sense the spirit or ghost of a loved one by smelling their perfume, their aftershave, their pipe smoke, the smell of something baking. I can smell my ex because of his halitosis. Surely once you lose the body you also lose the bad breath?

I have seen a boy spirit once. It was at a friend's house right after Xmas. I was taking some stuff into his house and when I reached the door, I saw a child run from the doorway and into the kitchen. When I got upstairs I went to confront my son thinking it was him but it wasn't. He was asleep. I asked my friend about it and he said the "boy wonder" had been around there since he had moved in. I didn't see him anymore after that.

In the summer when I was between the 1st & 2nd grades, something came into my room. It woke me up. It was an amorphous white shape like a T-shirty sorta blob; I wish that there had been a "sex undetermined" category, I only put in "female" because we figured afterwards that it must have been the house's original owner (we were only 2nd & she had died not far away, & had sold us the house). It hovered over the floor; in those days, you didn't have all the light coming in from people's floodlights in their backyards; I perceived this many years later. It was almost completely dark - the only light perceivable was the dim streetlight in the front of the house, quite a ways off...
"She", or it, floated near my bed. I immediately sat up & said in a loud voice, "Who's that? Who's coming into my room?" I remember very clearly exactly what I said... I got up & tried to touch it when there was no sound, & it was the strangest sensation - I couldn't touch it, it was as if no matter how far I walked or how far I reached, I would never actually be able to make contact with it. I stopped dead, & very abruptly fled to my parents' room, the longer way down the hall, not across from my door (there were 2 doors to their bedroom), I wanted to run as far away as I could. I stayed with my mother until dawn that night.

There was another time when we visited my very 1st castle in Britain; this had me so excited I was thrilled!!! :D When I was in it, I was overwhelmed by 2 impressions: The 1st was of an Anglo-Saxon princess (it was directly built by William the Conqueror, old enough & close enough to London for such a thing to happen), who seemed to have been held captive by the original Norman owner; when I visited the ramparts, I sensed her being pushed, jumping, or falling to her death. I think that the man had something to do with it; he was attempting to force her into marriage, etc. (!), & she was completely unwilling.

The 2nd impression was of a Cavalier; he seemed rather foolish, & in this hoary old prison of a pile, I couldn't figure out what on earth he was doing there...

After I returned to the tour bus (it was a world-wide family reunion), I read the literature. It seems that the early history was lost (too bad!), other than the fact that it was built by W. the C. & then bequeathed to a nobleman close to the throne. The suprise I had came with the later history: it seems that a Cavalier attempted to make up this fort into some kind of liveable house. He evidently left after a very short time - perhaps 2 years. Perhaps the spirit of Ethelmunde (as I call her) drove him out!

Those are my true ghost stories.

that poll needs to be multiple choice.
I haven't seen any recently. Then again, I do live in an apartment now.
Back at my grandparents house, hoo boy.
Strange thing is, no one has died in our house. Though the land there used to be a saw mill. :hmmmmm:

My first encounter, that I remember was a voice. I was lying in bed, when out of nowhere, I hear "you will find it" or "you must find it" or something to that effect. It wasn't my grandparents voices. I don't know what "it" was or if I ever found it though. :whatgives

I've seen orbs/ball lightening. I saw 3 in one night. A blue, a purple, and a green. 3 different sizes. I was just looking out the window, when they just undulated right by. It was before I was allowed to have a decent camera. I'd give my big toe to have video of that. I'm still awed by it.

I get out of bed after my grandparents have gone to sleep and wonder around the house. It can be anywhere from 12:30 to 4 in the morning. Usually around 2 or 3. I can actually see fine in the dark. I can't see to read, but I can see where furniture is, our black and white cat... Well, on several occasions, I've gone into our sunroom (like a living room), and the room was foggy. Only that room, it has no doors, so it shouldn't be foggy. :2G:

Sometimes, at night I'd feel this bad vibe at night, and the room would be tinted red, like I was looking through a filter. I've only experienced this in the day once or twice. It was at college, I've experienced a blue tint, and a green tint. I could see little lights sparkling off the sidewalk. I thought my eyes were going bad... then I found out this... My college used to be a TB asylum :blushake:

I was coming back to bed after wandering the house (got thirsty), and there, standing in my doorway was a little girl. I could see her plain as day. She wasn't fully formed, she was made of what I call nite-nite dots. At nite, when you can't see color, but you can see "dots". She was about 6ish, 7, 8? Wavy blonde hair, even though I couldn't see it was blonde, I knew. She had on a white nite gown with poofy shoulders. She just stood there staring at me. It was all I could do from bolting. :awilly:

The little girl freaked me out, so I tried to pretend it was my imagination. One night I fell something pull my hair a bit. I think it's the cat and roll over. :holycow: No, not the kitty. It's the little girl and she is PISSED. Her hair is a tangled mess. I meditate to communicate to her,and tell her I'm sorry I doubted her and she should "move on", if she desired. I haven't seen her since.

About that time (different night). I was lying in bed when I can't breathe anymore. My throat feels like it's tighening, I open my eyes and see RIGHTUPINMYFACE a boy or young male... yeah, that wasn't fun...

When the little girl was over, I'd often see a man in a funny small hat, almost like a bowler standing by the foot of my bed. He never did a thing, just stood there.

I had my friend over to watch a lord of the rings extended dvd. (it was already dark) I ran into my grandparents room to see if I left something in there. I didn't bother turning the light on, cause I don't need it. I totally forgot what I went in there for, because I glanced over at their bed and saw feet. ... floating in the air, like the feet of someone who had been hung. I couldn't tell if it was a man or a woman. I didn't tell my friend until later. I just came in and sat down, not a word. I was GLUED to that movie. She told me later that she wondered why I was so quiet.

I've seen animal ghosts too. I saw a golden lab puppy run right through my hall walls. I've also seen a cat jump from the dresser to the bed. Then disappear and leave an indention on the bed.

So, have I see a ghost? No. Have I seen ghosts, yes.

Oh man where to start? Yes and no. I have never seen one materialize in front of me, so no. BUT- I used to live in a haunted house, and one night I was asleep and woke up naturally around 6 am to go to work and there is this gray mist just floating in the middle of the room (which by the way is from what I understand a former bedroom in which a middle aged woman took her own life by hanging sometime in the 1920's). I turn on the light, and the mist just turns and drifts right out the open window. It didn't move slowly like smoke would, it turned abrutly and and hustled out. I had not been smoking in the room and it was the middle of summer, so it wasn't a misty spring rain or something. Lots of stuff used to happen there, voices, things missing etc. But as far as I know that was the only sighting. My former band used to practice downstairs, and one day our bassist and I were jamming, but we had to go pick up our drummer. So we set our guitars down and left to get Jordy. When we came back, the guitars were in their cases and the cases were outside by the garbage can! Explain that! The resident ghost used to hate our music. We would be in the middle of jamming, and we would hear these thumps coming from up above, in the bedrooms. Of course no one was there. Sometimes the power would cut off or a cable would pop out of our amps at an inopportune moment. I have taken parapsychology classes, which led to a lot of tours of various houses and local haunted spots, and I have been to Gettysburg National Military Park, wherein I got lots of cool pictures and experiences. So I have taken pictures of what I perceive (not believe) to be an ethereal being. I have also felt presences, and had other experiences as well, hence the penultimate quote on my signature line.

metalstar316 you just reminded me of something.
My family took a trip to Gettysburg a few years back. We have an RV. I can't remember if it was at the Gettysburg campground or one we stayed at on the way back. It was night, and all the blinds were drawn. My bed in the RV doubles as the kitchen table. Across from me is a small window by the kitchen sink. I saw a small white light through the miniblinds. It started swirling around and around. It was a very concentrated light, so it couldn't have been a flashlight. The light stayed on constantly, so it couldn't have been a lightning bug. Also there was nothing reflective hanging anywhere...
It was just this small white light that danced around. I don't know if you'd call that a ghost or not, but it was paranormal.

I could only vote for one, so I picked male, because it was the most recent. But, I have seen figures of both male and female, and cat. I've also experienced the 'charms' of them. Ghosts tend to 'run in the family', or hang around my family(?). I sort of grew up with them, lived in 2 different haunted houses (my friends have left in the middle of the night in tears), my grandmother's house was haunted, my sister's old house is haunted (her husband's brother shot himself in the front yard about 20 yrs ago. he has haunted that house ever since. you can also sit in the front room every night at about 1:30 a.m. and hear the gunshot, dogs barking, and sirens! sounds very spooky...), etc., and the occasional spirit passes through our home today (I think our land is haunted; I have seen a little boy, but my kids have seen an old woman). So, maybe, it is us who is haunted, and not the houses (hmmm*taps chin in thought*). Anyway, the only malevolent spirit was in the Texas City house over 30 years ago. A man had hanged himself in the hallway, and he had no problem scaring the crap out of us!! And I have worked in an old nursing home for nearly 4 years, so I have seen my share there, too. :vanish:

many of the people i work with have seen the ghost of a blond woman in the backroom. you'll be sticking your stuff in a locker, and she'll walk past the doorway. you go and look, see no one, go back to the lockers, and she'll pass the other way.

my friedn has seen the ghost of a little boy in the store also, where we keep all the seasonal items. she says he stays there becaue he likes the colors, and often times things that are electronic (like motion detector stuff for halloween, etc) that make noises goes off without anyone being over there.

Sleep Paralysis (http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art29750.asp)

That's so interesting to me, because I had a VERY similar experience about four years ago. I often see things at night, but the one time I actually felt physical contact with any of these beings was with an old woman who literally SLAMMED her fists down on my chest, causing me to gasp for air. I remember opening my eyes and seeing her glaring at me, very intensly and I could not move. Then she put her hands together in a fist and pounded down on me. It was very frightening.
But there were things going on around me at the time, of which I was totally obliviousness. A situation that I really should've been aware of, so it explains her appearance to me. She really was trying to WAKE me up.
When asking for advice about this old woman, I was given the same response. Old Hag. It's very cool to hear about others experiencing this. Thank you for sharing.
It's just nice to hear of similar situations from others. Makes me feel a lot less crazy.

Okay, I'm still here posting. Don't know why I can't just sum it all up in one post.

Anyway, my favorite ghost sighting was about 5 or 6 years ago. My husband worked as an actor at a community theatre and it was about 11:00 in the evening. I drove over there to pick him up from work and I parked the car outside of the green room door. There was a window in the door so I could see through it and into the green room where my hubby would be closing up after the show. He was waiting for the last of the actors' rides to pick them up before he would shut the lights out and lock up. The last actor left and as my hubby was grabbing his things, and reaching for the lights to turn them off. As my hubby reached for the lights, he quickly smiled out at me as I watched a young man start down the stairs behind my husband. I figured it was a friend of ours (another actor from the show) coming down from the upstairs costume shop. The young man walked down the stairs, looked out the window at me in the car, and then turned down the breezeway toward the stage. At that moment, my husband turned the lights out, ran outside, locked up and hopped in the car.
I said, "Who was that? Was that Jimmy?" My husband froze and said, "Who?" I said, "That guy that came down the stairs. You turned the lights out on him. Didn't you see him? Was that Jimmy?" My husband just panicked. There was no one there, and he said that as he was turning the lights out, he felt that feeling like someone was behind him (you know that feeling... <shiver>). Then we both realized that for the young man to have turned down the hall toward the stage, he would've had to have stepped in FRONT of my husband. So, he must've just disappeared through the wall.
It was cool because I wasn't in that mood where I thought I would see a ghost, it just was there and my brain rationalized it as though it were a live person. But now that I try to remember what the guy looked like, and he really didn't have much of a lower half. His facial features were very fuzzy. Like I could just barely see eyes, like they were just shadow.
There were many experiences with that theatre ghost. Many people heard footsteps from the upstairs costume shop, when no one was up there, and lots of sightings other than mine. Ghosts are a staple in a good theatre, I think.

Anyway, that was my favorite ghost sighting! Thanks for letting me share it!

I saw a full body apparition of a girl around my age when I was 13. My step-sister saw it too and we were both amazed and unafraid. It just walked by where I was standing less than a arm-width away and appeared to go through the kitchen door by turning into water droplets of all things. I'll never forget it. I can remember everything she was wearing, the color of her hair, her height, it was that real.

The other female spirit was never fully formed. This is when I was in my mid-twenties. I was having a really hard time at work and my finances were a mess so I couldn't make a change. I was crying in my room and felt this incredibly empathetic female presence, like a warm white light. I felt this presence was trying to reach out to me, to console and try to understand. I was startled from crying but not afraid.

This spirit seemed very curious about me, and came back often in the night, floating right above my bed. I would feel a presence, wake up, wait until I was fully awake enough to not be experiencing hypnogogic hallucinations and see it in classic movie spirit form. An elongated misty form undulating above me. It was so unnerving that I would leap out of bed, turn on the light, and then try to calm down enough to fall back asleep. I felt bad for the spirit, but I didn't know what she wanted and wasn't aware at the time that I could have tried to find out. That's the last time I saw a "ghost" with such a strong presence.

There was something else, though, that made repeat appearances and seemed to have as much curiosity. I've never found anyone with quite the same experience.

Because of experiencing poltergeist activity, the above hauntings, and some other weird things, I really tried to close off and shut down. It's very disruptive. Sometimes I miss the experiences but I don't miss being startled all the time.

I love telling ghost experiences. I once volunteered with a paranormal investigations group, and had quite a few interesting experiences with them. Here's one of my favorites:
My wife and I went to a small town with our paranormal investigator friends because we had been told there was a community center there which had once been a hospital from 1800 something to the mid 1900's. A place like that has a great chance of being "haunted." There was a group of about twenty people with us that night, and we decided that when we went in we should all split up to try to keep the maximum amount of people to eight per floor. We started exploring this old hospital at about midnight, and spent a good hour there rotating groups so that we could all experience each floor. Eventually the entire group ended up in the basement because it seemed the most active. The basement had once been the pediatrics floor, and people were saying they kept sensing children roaming around down there. My wife and I went down together and almost immediately saw a Woman dressed in what we thought to be a nurses outfit cross between us and head through a door going outside. I should explain something here; a person NEVER becomes immune to seeing a ghost no matter how many you see, and this ghost was no exception. We both immediately went cold with the spine chills and all.
A few minutes later the guy who organized the group came up to my wife and asked her to follow him. He told her there was a child sitting at a table in the corner who he thought wanted to communicate. He knew my wife could see spirits. He could sense the girl, and could hear her communications, but wanted my wife to tell him what she saw, to validate it. They both sat down at the table and he started gently talking to her. From what my wife saw, the spirit girl sat quietly at the table, seeming very interested in the attention. My wife could see her trying to talk, but she could not hear the words. She could see a bluish figure moving her arms and trying to talk excitedly, like a small kid would do when attention was suddenly on them.
Eventually the entire group gathered around this table (keeping their distance) and watched intensely as my wife and the other guy sat with her. The guy was relaying to us what she was saying and my wife just was watching her and trying to describe what she saw. It went on for at least a half-an-hour, and by the end there wasn't a dry eye in the room.
In summary: not all of us SAW the spirit, but EVERYONE there sensed that little girl sitting at the table and many other spirits who started to gather around.
It was really amazing and we were all really worn out after it all. The energy was pretty overwhelming.

Seen? Not really, not physically. I seem to experience them more in a "straight to the third eye" kind of way, like their reality bypasses the standard five senses.

I have heard ghosts - talked with one, actually - and experience the presence of others. It makes it difficult to hang around in graveyards. :twitch: My SO and I went driving several years ago now, just to get away from things, and she turns into a graveyard because it's "quiet". Well, I let her know that it wasn't quiet for me, and we left, but not before I got that wonderful feeling of being watched.

And real life ghost towns are just a joy. Virginia City, an old silver mining town on the east side of the Sierra Nevadas, south-ish of Reno, is a very strange place for me - they have six different graveyards on the hills on the east side of town. I wouldn't recommend it as a vacation spot, that's for sure!

I've seen the Dark Mother/Crone twice. The 1st time was in the room of a family friend who had been diagnosed with inoperable liver cancer. My mother took me to see him when I was pregnant. The Crone was just sitting in the corner, her eyes so full of knowledge and wisdom, not scary to me at all. Interesting note, my son was born exactly a month after this man passed.

The second time I saw the Crone was in the labor & delivery room the night I had my son. I knew that there was a problem with my labor, I'd already gone into shock once. I looked up and there She was, just behind the nurses. SHe gave me this smile and - for lack of a better word- I felt Her reassure me that it wasn't time. My mother and hubby said that right about the time my son's heartrate and my heartrate plummited and I went into shock again I looked over the nurse's shoulder and smiled this really serene smile. I do remember telling my hubby that the Goddess had everything under control and to look at how many faeries/lights were flitting around(I tend to see energy manifestations as little balls of lights and refer to that particular type of manifestation as "faeries").

I've had some other experiences with spirits but recalling that last incident kinda took it out of me for tonight. I'll post more later.

When I was a child (probably from age 8 on) I began seeing and sometimes communicating with people who most of my family could not see. The first was a ghost/spirit who I referred to as Mrs. Collins who I found out later did actually live in our home at one time. She was a regular in the house and actually caused mischief once in a while. She would open our parrot's cage after he was put back in it and would occasionally turn on the water faucets full blast. She seemed particularly fond of our bird Jasper and would hang out near him wherever he was in the house. She didn't seem in a hurry to leave the house and actually seemed to enjoy herself. My dad was the biggest skeptic about her being in our house until he actually saw her also. He apologized for believing that I was just making up stories about an "imaginary friend". Over the years I continued to see spirits but I feel as if I don't see them nearly as much now as I did as a kid. I wonder why that is? Maybe I get too absorbed in everyday junk to notice them as much.

Yes I have, a few times actually. Remembering a specific event, however, I chose female. Once I saw Emily Dickinson in my kitchen. Another time I was driving in the evening/night and I saw a man run out into the road who disappeared once I had swerved to get out of the way and he was on the other side of the road. It was terrifying, I wish I wasn't so afraid of things like this but even thinking about it gives me chills.

Very interesting postings indeed. I think I can " sense" something too but am to scared to admit it. I'd freak out lol one of the things that's happened to me ever since I was a teenager is sleep paralysis. It feels like being nailed to the bed without any possibility to move or utter a word although I feel very scared and try to speak and call someone to wake me up but no words come out of my mouth and it feels so scary then I pray to God to help me get released and that no harm be done to me. It's a terrifying feeling. Can anyone give an explanation to this??

Yes, I've seen them since I was young. My first experience was when I was in Kindergarten. I was out at recess w/ the rest of the cookie crunchers in the school’s playground, happily playing with a blue ball. I’d been throwing it against the chain link fence that encircled the play yard when another little girl approached me. What I remember the most is her pale blue dress, a bit ostentatious for school. It was then that I noticed she wore no shoes or socks. Odd for someone, even a little girl, to be so nicely dresses sans socks and shoes.
“Can I play?” she asked me. So we played together like two little girls do.
By the time we hit the Merry-Go-Round I had learned that her name was Ellen. My school was a relatively small school and I’d never seen Ellen before. At that age such things don’t matter. All in all I remember that Ellen was a fun playmate. Like all good things our play came to an end w/ the end of recess.I was sure Ellen was right behind me. However, when I got to the back of the line, Ellen was no where to be seen.
At recess the next day I stood alone, waiting for her. I never saw her again.Years later my grandmother told me
about the little girl who had been abducted from that same playground we had recess in. It was my Grandfather’s first child abduction case since he’d become a town police officer. This girl had been lured away by a man who promised her ice cream from the local Dairy Queen.
They found her murdered in a State Forest. They took me to the cemetary because this child was buried in the same cemetary as some of my relatives and her grave had one of those old ceramic pictures on it. It was my playmate, Ellen. I'd find out, from talking to people who had attended her funeral, that she had been laid to rest in a pale blue dress and she was buried without shoes as her mother couldn't find suitable ones that went with the dress they buried her in.

I don't go around seeing dead people all the time. I sense them more readily than see them. Those rare occasions I have seen the dead they appear just as solid and normal as you or I. I wonder just how many I've seen and not realised they were deceased for just that reason.

But that doesn't stop me from being freaked out about it.

After the tornado when I was 10 my parents bought a house from my father's uncle. Uncle Glenn had owned a saw mill at one time. He built this house himself, handpicking every material that went into it, down to maple hardwood floors and using hurricane braces in the framework. Uncle Glenn had moved to a town called Snow Hill before I was born but still used this house for the weekends. Its where he went to get drunk as he was an alcoholic. He only sold it to my folks because we had nothing. Uncle Glenn died when I was a senior in high school. Within the next year, we all started noticing that this one wall decoration ( a big wooden spoon with fruit painted on it) kept falling down. The nail was still in the wall and nobody would be near it when it happened. We had shleves along one wall in the dining area where my dad kept alot of rolled up arial maps of the area stored on top. When he'd get to yelling and arguing in the dining area, a rolled up map would slide out and fall on him. The TV would turn on/off on its own sometimes or the channels start changing. My mom took to saying "OK Glenn, thats enough" and things would be calm. Someone gave my dad one of those old moonshine jugs full of homemade wine one time. He left it sitting next to the washer on the closed in back porch. We're eating dinner and hear something break. The jug had pretty much shattered and the wine was running across the floor. Seeing as the bottle was not under pressure and the porch was not hot, mom and I chalked it up to Uncle Glenn not being able to resist the wine. The funniest thing was the time the guy I was seeing came home with me. We were in my room doing....well I'm sure you can imagine ;). A big box I had stuffed into the storage area came thumping down right in front of my door. Scared the crap out of my friend. I told him to ignore it, it was just Uncle Glenn. I had to explain Uncle Glenn to him. LOL Needless to say he never wanted to come to the house again. My hubby has seen things fall or move at the house. He just takes it in stride. My mom talks to Uncle Glenn sometimes. Even his sons say hello to Uncle Glenn when they stop by.

Possibly. I say that because of the circumstances. I was 6 or 7 years old and sick with a fever. I shared a bedroom with my mother at the time (my father had died only a few years before in the house's only other bedroom) and I woke up and saw the silhouette of a woman in a long dress standing in the doorway. I thought that it was my mom, in her housecoat, coming to give me my medicine. I closed my eyes and waited for her to come to my bed. I went back to sleep. I asked Mom about it the next morning. She told me that she hadn't gotten up at all in the night. Dream? Ghost? Don't know. I do know that the house is very old (I still own it.) and it had a lot of history before my parents bought it. I AM positive that I've been visited by the spirits of our cats that have passed on, the most recent visitation in late July/early August of last year. Our oldest cat had died about 2 weeks previously. I was on my bed with a book and our youngest cat when I heard a "meow" at the foot of the bed. I looked. No cat. I went back to the book. Another "meow". Another look. No cat. I checked for the other members of our feline tribe. They were out doors and no strange cat had come in. (The baby cat had been totally unconcerned about the "meows".) A few days later, I was sitting on the floor when I heard purring beside me. I looked. No cat. And as I sat there watching, the sound of purring moved away from me toward the front door. I wished my old companion "good hunting" and invited her to return anytime. I haven't heard from her since.

Curious question, how many ppl have actually seen a ghost? or think they've seen one?

I have seen plenty of spirits. I have bee able to see and feel, sometime if I'm lucky, hear them since I was very young. About two years old, maybe even younger.
The first house I live in I would see white shadow like beings going out from one wall and into the other in the hall way. This would happen every night, right in front of my bedroom. Oddly enough, it never scared me though.
The apartment I moved into after leaving that house had A LOT of supernatural activity.
There were two little girls, sisters, about 9 and 12. They were dressed in early 1900's style dresses. The oldest girl, Sarah, had a light blue dress, and her sister, Amy, had a pastel yellow dress. These two girls were the only "friends" I had for the longest time. I would see them all over the apartment, they would sit at the end of my bed and touch my hand.
There was also a very tall and very dark figure, that I believe was their father. I think that he killed them.
I also seen many white shadowy figures often dashing past our front window at night.
Oh! Did I mention that my bedroom was the "heart" of the apartment. It was always very cold and somewhat breezy in there, and that is where the energy was the strongest.
Also, while living in that apartment, I had a polterguist for a terrifying 6 months!
It would follow me EVERYWHERE I went, and at night it would pin me down in my bed. I could not sleep unless every light in the apartment was on!
The spirits that I do not see, I feel.
There have been murder or suicide scenes that I have felt very strong presances.
The last supernatural activity I had the pleasure of experiencing was when I visited the Whaley House. The engery throughout the entire house was so intense! I felt a presance following me around the entire house, and even new that there was a vortex in the theatre room before it was later confirmed by my friend, Lady Moon Water, who had visisted a week prior!
Call me nuts, but I actually miss being around spirits. I really hope to work on strengthening my abilities as well. Sometimes they are very strong, other times, they are very week. :ghost:

*shrug*

All can say is WOW!
Something you would think that could ONLY happen in the movies.
What an amazing experience, even though it did freak you out!
At least you were not alone! :dontknow:

WOW!
Amazing story!
I guess it's good to know the history of the house and what surrounded it before you move in! :dontknow:

BOO!

I'm totally amazed by your stories!
Although the "Goosey" one it a bit creepy!
I don't think I would want to live in that house! :mmm:

Hm this poll needs a one other choice-other.

I have had some exsperiances that could be exsplained as lucid dreaming or other just because I was laying in bed when they happened.Allthough I think they were something spiritual, ghost or other.Cuz I know I was far from sleeping, and one of them was the most terrors I have ever felt in my live. But I have never SEEN ghosts,I think:)But one incident happened when I was wide awake sitting in my living room. And I would have written it of as imagination but I was not the only one that heard it.

Well this is what happened:me and my ex were sitting quietly in the living room when out of nowhere a loud sound of flapping wings come from the end of the sofa near the doorway to the livingroom. We look at eachother with big eyes and ask did you hear that, and we both say yes kinda nervously. And I stood up and walk with my heart racing allover the apartment looking in to every corner and every room, totally nervous but not cuz I thought it was a ghost or anything like that but cuz I thought I would get a freaked out bird flying at my face at any moment. But I did not find anything. And all windows were closed and all doors also and we lived up on the 4th floor. And also after we kinda settled down again my ex said at the moment of us hearing the sound he felt he saw a purple haze or colouring at the end of the sofa.

Brrrrrrr! A friend forwarded me a link to a review of the book "People Who Don't Know They're Dead" by Gary Leon Hill. It sounded just like one of the people in my Circle who our Priestess and I have been concerned about. I forwarded the link to our Priestess so she could read it and see if she agrees with me. I think the other circle member is someone who feels death very deeply, she tries to help and comfort spirits as their physical bodies are dying, but then she unconsciously hangs on to those spirits, keeping them from going towards the light and their next life experience.

I had no more than hit the send button when I felt a sudden chill breeze around my knees and legs. I could tell that there were several spirits or ghosts around me asking me to help them. WOW, it felt kinda creepy. I've never helped more than one spirit go towards the light before - at a time.

I just now sat back and cleansed my aura, grounded and centered and opened my crown chakra to the universal-divine energies. Should have done that right away but was taken by surprise by all those spirits all at once. Going to fix myself a little snack and go to bed. Whooo.

It will be interesting to "see" how that person is looking at our summer solstice celebration in a few hours. :hmmmmm:

:ghost:

I hope to get some interesting pics some day sis. Until then, I'll just be happy looking at whatever I find on the net.

One thing I forgot to mention in my previous post was the last supernatural experience I had. It was just a few months ago. I was totally alone here in my apartment. I was sitting at the computer when the air conditioner turned on by itself. I wasn't scared but a little shocked, because there had never been any sign of acitivy until then. I went and turned it off, and sat back down to the computer. After that I felt a very strong negitive energy surrounding me. I asked who it was and what it wanted, and when I got no reply, I told it to get the hell out!
Nothing has happened since then. I think whatever it was, it was hoping to scare me.
It didn't! :ghostie:

P.S
I LOVE the cave pic!
Where was it taken? :flowers:

Yes, I had an illaberate encounter over a years time with an Indian male ghost. From what I gather from my experience I was living on sacred ground, where male warriors gathered to do swets....this Indian I encountered was the fire keeper and lived at location. All of this took a long time to unravel to get the full picture of what was going on. I''m female so, my presense was not appropriate there and the ghost spirit spent much time trying to scare me away. I did leave my ex for a short time but came back...when I came back I had some conversations with this spirit...he did stop trying to scare me and things setteled down some, than I moved permanently...the day I was leaving, he made an appearence as I stood over looking the valley below saying my good-byes. He accompanied me, was freshly scented with sage ( I could smell him) it was a peaceful time...he said good-bye.

My Husbands Dad comes to visit since he died. The first encounter of him was on my husbands birthday. The back sliding door was open and I was sitting at the computer, I heard this eery swooshing sound on the other side of the sofa behind my husbands desk chair. A freaky sound, gave me chills....causiously I walked over there....just to find a pink balloon with ribbons on it rubbing arainst the side of the sofa in the breeze. LOL. I know it was my husbands Dad who left a balloon for his birthday. What an easy thing for a ghost to move, huh? That was very cool! His dad shows up every now and then....I can smell mountain's and pine and desert rains come wafting in....he is roaming all over the world having a blast and I can smell where he has been when he stops in to check in on us.
His ghost cat/pet friends come with him as well...I will spend a day or two jumping and starteled by ghost cats....and I know Jim is a round...LOL

I am pretty damn sure what I saw two years ago in my girlfriends basement was a ghost or spirit of some sort. I was sleeping and dreaming about something when I suddenly woke up to a shadowy image standing on my side of the bed, glaring down at me. Right where he was stadning we have a light, and it at first appeared to be turned on with this person staniding in front of it. But within moments the figure and the light behind him dissapeared. I can say I felt a presence, and amazingly I wasn't scared at all. In fact, I was feeling a sense of comfort from the entity. I did think that it was possible that this was just me seeing a dream-figure since I had just awaken from a dream, but I swear it seemed like it was right there next to me.

Another interesting sort of ghost encounter, if it can be called that, was soon after my girlfriends father passed away. The rest of her family was driving down to the Mall to get clothing for his upcoming funeral when my girlfriends brothers dead cellphone suddenly turned itself on and beeped a few times. They all were sort of freaked out about it, and my girlfriends nephew, who is only 8 and doesn't quite understand death, said "maybe we can call Poppy on the Cell phone". Just then it beeped once more. Maybe he was trying to call them........

I haven't seen them but my dad and cousin have.
There are triplets that haunt my dads's house - they cry in the night sometimes.

I find this really disturbing that a baby/babies come back as ghosts-it always brings a tear to my eye because I am so genuinly sorry for the child.

I never do ghost investigations involving children under 4- the last one I went to made me cry for 5 minutes :vanish: :awwman: :sadman: :wah2:

Oh Sure, i see dead people all the time :)

heh jp. yeah, my house just so happens to be in a convienient little spot.. we live in front of a graveyard (And i think my part of the neighborhood was built on TOP of some of it! creepy, huh?) and our neighborhood just so happens to be surrounded by at the very LEAST seven other cemetaries. so i guess ya could say its almost like a crossroads. not very fun though, havin strange ghosts barge into your home.. the ones that actually reside in my house arent very nice as is, at least the ones in my basement (WHY is it that the ones in basements are always so mean??? i actually would like to debate this***)

there is only one ghost in my house who is actually somewhat nice - although she does have a tendancy to creep people out because she has a habit of standing next to your bed while you are sleeping and just stares....

It can be a problem, when your having a party and find ghosts sitting on your couch, and tables.
And scaring the hell out of my husband.

I didn't pick an option in the poll because there wasn't one for my situation.

I have had several encounters with ghosts in my lifetime, but I don't see them. I hear them and see signs they've left for me. There is only one I can say for sure is a man [a relative of mine]. The others, I have no idea.

I could have picked all the answers there, I see ghosts all the time.. at least one every few days. I've even told a local ghost/historic society in my city about one and they looked up and found information confirming what I had seen. I see the grandfather I never met in my house constantly as well as an older woman who guards our bedroom doors upstairs (from what I'm not sure, though he walks around as a big black shadow and likes to stand behind you).

You just have to open your mind to them and believe they are really there 100% and you'll see them all the time.

Er...ok I answered this in a similar thread. Ok well I voted Nope - but I believe in them. I don't know why I believe in them, even if I haven't seen them for myself, but sometimes I can just "feel" something around me and I guess that's proof enough for me to believe in them.

I've been reading too many of those scary stories on www.castleofspirits.com (http://www.castleofspirits.com/) lately. You know, the ones with ghosts that have hollow or glowing eyes, and evil grins full of sharp teeth, and it's been scaring the crap outta me! :hairraise
I visited that website and it is very scary. I looked at some of the pictures. Ghost stories, ghost movies, ghost tales or pictures anything related scares me so badly though I've not seen one myself. It's funny I came across this because just this morning I saw most of an episode of Most Haunted on the travel channel.
My husband when he was very little saw ghosts. He saw one that spoke some kind of asian language only that he couldn't understand and was sort of mean looking he said. Then he said there was this one with a boston accent. His mom said that he started to pick up a boston accent and couldn't understand why since they were living in virginia at the time and he was so little with no bostonian relatives. Then one day she said she saw him watching television and he said look mom I know that man, and it was footage of JFK, who apparently had been visting him in his etherial form and gave him his boston accent, which when they left the home went away. Thought you'd all enjoy that little story. Gives me the creeps thinking about it.

I haven't seen this spirit, but I've heard her. I've heard her say "Hello", my mother and sister told me they heard her say, "get it out" or something along those lines, and during a full moon ritual, I heard her say something, I heard her voice, but I am unclear of what that did. My mother performed a banishing ritual against my wishes. I think that tonight I am going to invite her back to speak with her. :chatty:

I have most definitely seen a ghost, in several different forms. I lived in a haunted house for awhile and there was major activity. When I moved, it followed! Finally, it left and years later my mother lived in a haunted apartment, my husband and I both saw that spirit at the same time. I could go on and on about it, but it reminds me daily that life as we know it is not all there is.

I've never seen a ghost but my boyfriend lived in a house that was haunted. When he was young he almost got pushed down the stairs by some unseen presence. His mom says she saw his toys move across the floor by themselves. That's completely freaky. Twice, I have experienced the feeling of being watched by some unseen presence. It was right outside my computer room in the hallway.

My wife and I have seen and spoke with ghosts. We are amature ghosts hunters and are team has been to a few differnet places. We just had our first in house investigation last night. I have had a personal experience at my home as well. There was a "figure" in the hall on our landing and it would get in the way of my wife and friend when they would head to the bathroom. So after a few nights of this and some advise from a friend I did a binding and removed him. Let me backup for a min. and say that we had FORCEFULLY asked this "entity" to leave and that did not work. So I bound him and ejected him.

I have seen ghosts most of my life in different homes I have lived in and friends homes. Last years I was staying with my sister in her apartment and there was a little girl spirit who would play with my 4 year old niece. She had tried to tell my sister about the spirit, but she just thought it was an imaginary friend. Then when I stayed with them for awhile I told my sister that I could see a little girl spirit playing with my niece and then she knew that she really did have a ghost not a child with an overactive imagination. The ghost would keep me up at night playing and trying to get my attention, but there was another ghost there that was a older women that didnt like the little girl trying to talk to me, so she would send me bad feelings all the time. After awhile I just moved out so I could sleep and my sister moved into another home as well.I still wonder if the ghosts are still there at her old apartment though.

I have lived in 2 houses that had ghosts, now in the apartment I'm in, plus the house I grew up in now seems to have something. The first house my son at the age of 4 to 5 and I used to see an old man when ever his father left on the job for a week or more. Once he got a job where he was home all the time, the old man quit coming around. It was like he wanted us to know he was there to protect us until my husband came back from being on the road.
Then our second house it was my son, daughter and I that would see the two children, one a little boy and a litter girl. My daughter used to play with her from the age of 4 when we moved in until she was 12. I saw both of them, over the eight years we lived there, but most of the time I could sense them in the rooms playing with my kids. My husband at that time never saw the ghosts.
The house I lived in growing up (my father still lives there with my daughter) has some type of black thing living there. I just know it is some kind of "spirit or enity" it has been there since I came back here 8 years ago. I don't know how long it has been there I lived out of state for almost 20 yrs.
Now I have a lady in our apartment who is my age and just died not quite a year ago.

I did when I was 17...but saw her in a strange way.
My freinds and I were playing with a ouija board, and I wanted to stop.

I just layed back on my bean bag, and closed my eyes. I saw a young woman sitting on my bed. She was sitting with her legs bent and knees at her chest, with her head down. She looked up at me and her face was terribly burned!
Scared the heck out of me, my freinds said it was a spirit that they were talking to on the board.
At the time I didn't understand the spirit realm, and was really really scared.
I haven't seen a ghost since.
