Hi everybody !

Well, I have this idea that I may be able to teach a class on nature and elemental magick.
I'm not an expert at it, but I can do a few things, and I can teach you guys some things to help make this particular type of magick more clear to you.

So, if you're interested please respond. I'm trying to find a book (online or at a bookstore) about it that I feel will help the most.

Most of the materials needed will be a calm place outside, with a good connection to nature. Gardens (if you have them), forest, woods, etc,.

cunningham's "earth power: techniques of natural magic" might be a good book for that. i loved its simplicity and sincerity.

Thanks for the book link I will have to take a look at that one, currently I'm trying to also find books that libraries will have so that you guys won't have to pay.

I'm glad that some of you are interested, and I'm currently working on and outline for the class that I hope to have posted soon !

Nature and Elemental Magick Class Outline & Materials List

Materials Needed:
Computer
Keyboard/ Other way to type
Monitor (to view lessons)
Person (You of course !)

Books suggested (But optional, these books will be for side-reading and will help you grasp some of the topics better, I may do side-lessons for those that want them on the books):
Sacred sounds : transformation through music & word /
by Andrews, Ted, 1952-

Animal-speak : the spiritual & magical powers of creatures great & small

by Andrews, Ted, 1952-

The Golden Bough
by James G. Frazer (Any version will work, and the only reason I have this listed is for backstory on religion, all in all it's a good book for history-nuts !)

Those books are optional, and I've picked them according to what I was able to find by searching through library catalogues to make it easy for us.

ClassWork:

Weeks 1&2:
Introduction to Nature and Elemental Magick
Finding your inner-innocence
Essay

Report Card

Weeks 3,5
History Lessons: Celtics and Native Americans
Test 1

Quiz on Basic Rituals
Performing Basic Rituals
Quiz on Performing Rituals
Review: 2 Page Report on the culture of your choice

Report Card

Week 4:
Music in magick
Lab: Composing a song (Extra Credit)
Lyrics that embody nature to you

Report Card

Weeks 8&9:
Beginning Herbalism
Identifying edible/poison herbs
Lab: Cooking (Extra Credit)
Test on Herbs

Report Card

*Weeks 6/7 are reflective weeks on which you will reflect on what you've learned, and write one paragraph (at least) on what Nature magick and Elemental Magick mean to YOU*

That's about it, might do some edits. There will be a Report Card after each unit, but if you get a bad grade you can do extra credit to make it up. I'm not grading on a curve !

Those who get C's and up on their RC will be able to have banner/certificate in their signature (I will have to ask some of the artist on here if they will be so kind as to make us some), Once we get through this stuff and if everything is going smoothly I will start work on a second semester course.

Ideas, Suggestions, thoughts, TA all welcome !

I would, but the tests and assignments would have to be really flexible since I'm in school. I'd want to do it if I could do it at my own pace.

AuroraFireHawk, PM me if you would be interested in being a T.A !

I don't know when it will start, I guess I will keep pm'ing the admins/mods but I haven't heard from them.

I suppose you guys could PM them to help by asking them to approve the Nature and Elemental Magick class by Findarto.

You need to send Morr your qualifications, and Class Syllabus before they will even answer you. The only answer you will get most likely is finding the Forum placed on the COT without formal notice to you. That is the way to start your class. If they decide not to do the class I'm not sure what they do.

I've found that studying animals, like Bango the Iguana, teaches me to respect our environment. I purchased him from an owner who knew little about Iguana's. Animals are connected to the environment just like we are. They know when to let us know that something's just not right. Someone asked me today if I could take a kitten. I said no thank you. Restoring an Iguana from central america is enough.
