Hi all-
I have a cement wall in my house that is old (and probably water damaged) and crumbles more every time you so much as think about it. I am tired of vacumning up chunks of cement off my stairs and it is quite an eyesore. Does anyone know how I can at least get it to stick together? Making it look decent would be a huge bonus, but I'd settle for not stepping on little rocks all the time. We just rent the house so we can't do anything too drastic. Maybe a large tub of spackle???? Would that stick? Please help. :awwman:

There are cement paints. I'm most familiar with some very heavy, almost tar-like ones. They seemed to help at the parking lot I worked in. I don't know how much they cost or if your lease would allow it, however.

Have you told the landlord to fix it?

There are a few different kinds of cement sealers available. Check with your local paint or hardware store. Someof them are almost rubberlike and can take a long time to dry completely. The only thing you can really fill the holes with is more cement. A small bag of the thicker quick dry cement would do it.
Or you could just use the sealer and paint the inside of the holes with a little sparkly colorful stuff so it looks like crystals in a geode. :hmmmmm:

I love that idea!!!!! I have asked the landlord to fix it but he just says it's an old problem and nothing would do any good. Laziness I am willing to bet. Guess he won't have much to say about having a sparkly wall then huh? Thanks so much for the suggestion!! _happydanc

Just be sure to be able to spend the day elsewhere, if possible longer.
