....I will have a thermostat!!!:santasmil
And with this thermostat, I will have heat!!!!
I'm sooooo relieved :fprtyman2
We only have a woodstove to heat the house with, and it's my job to get the dang thing pumping in the morning.
The other day we had a visit from an organization that helps disabled ppl (my husband) and here's what we're getting:
* All windows repaired and glazed
* Doors fixed
* Gas tank and stuff to have gas-operated heat pump
I am soooooo happy!!! I'll be nice and toasty:smoke: this winter...not frosty :frosty:

That's fantastic. We lived in Mass with heat only in the kitchen of a three floor home. It was real ruff, so I'm very happy for you. Now your wood stove can just be a cuttle up happy spot.

Oh, 13thC, I'm so very happy for you! Having no heat when you need it sucks! I'm glad they are doing the windows for you too, so that it will be an EFFICIENT heat system!

Thanks, guys! I live in NC, which gets cold enough for me.
We have to spend about $1500 to get the duct-work for the heating unit installed, but that's a small price to pay considering the gas tank is approx. $10,000.
Sometimes really awesome things happen, ya know?

May I ask what organisation and where are you? I am disabled and my furnance is ancient and wont last much longer. Plus I have other issues with keeping heating cost down and the house more efficiant. I havent found anything around my area that does squat, especially since I live in a trailer. There is a weatherization program, but not for people in trailers...I hate that. You have to live in a house!!! Heck I paid 12k for my trailer, where could I find a house for that price? Its so dumb.
Sorry, got a little frustrated there!

Shanti, I'll ask my husband what the official name of the org is.
The ppl that we dealt with are a joint-county type of operation...not sure if it's federal or state.
I agree that there needs to be more options for heating trailers.
Do you guys have a woodstove?
My husband used to have a trailer that was equipped for a woodstove.

Check with your state's Department of Energy. They are the ones who sponsor this program.
Another note...they're also blowing insulation into my walls!!!!!
