Utilizing our already exemplified birth chart from Basic Astrology #6, I will progress it to today's date (9/02/01) at 0 hrs , UT. Since the Secondary RAMC progresses about 1 degree per civil day, it is not necessary (unless desired) to establish the exact RA value of the transiting Mean Sun, (MSt). When doing any progressed chart, the first item to calculate is one's ASTROLOGICAL AGE, otherwise known as "AA". First, look up the Sidereal Time for the target date of your chart. In this case it is 9/02/01, being, 22:44:50.

All progressed charts contain TWO SETS of planets and luminaries. First, is the actual progressions and secondly, are the transits for the target day. This situation brings up a unique system of delineations in that the progressions indicate the person's own self-induced situations and feelings, while the transits indicate what one is encountering in life, that being external to themselves. That the delineations are altered when a transiting planet makes contact through aspects to a progressed planet or luminary. For exmaple, say, transiting Mars is conjunct one's progressed Venus. This would tell the Astrologer that there is (coming) an external attack, arguments, or some other form of exploitation problem from one's own family, friends, and possibly, one's property could be under exploitation, and this is further defined by which house they occupy.
There will be offered an explanation of the transits and how they affect the natals/Secondary progressions.
Generally, for practical reasons, the Astrologer can put together a progressed chart, say, once a month, or perhaps every 40 days from one's birthday. That by adding the amount of progression, say, for 40 days, to the chart's RAMC ( by drawing a corresponding arc to the midheaven position), you can tell at a glance when the several progressions and transits will contact the Secondary's angles and house positions, using the Tables of Houses. That the mean increment for the Secondary chart is .9856 degrees, or 59' 08" per day. However for practical purposes, we can say 1 degree per civil day.
