Quick note as a Christian, and then I'll back out. <_< Praying (for us) does not require folding hands, or anything else. We pray wherever, whenever. Standing, sitting, in school, in the store, riding in a car, etc. You can fold your hands if you want, you can kneel if you want. In my church we kneel to pray at a certain point in the service, but that's just to be reverent and show respect. We also pray siting in the pews or even standing. The outward apperance isn't important. What matters and is important in prayer is the communication between you and God.

The Wiccans I know are inclined to pray, much in the same way as Christians (though hand folding and kneeling are not required). I just go by the title of 'witch', rather than Wiccan, but I pray to my deities too.

From what I know of Wiccan friends, they pray. It's just that instead of praying to one God, they pray to the God that is most appropriate for their request, or to the God/dess :)

yup...well, i pray at least, i hesitate to say all wiccans do anything as we're rather diverse ^^;; No, i don't pray w/ my hands together...i usually pray infront of my altar, or just where ever as the situation calls for. It's usually more of a chat w/ the gods, I explain how I'm feeling, ask them for help/guidance...whatever.

I prefer not to call what I do "prayer", but I guess it really IS prayer. I just don't like using that word for some reason.
In any case, I "pray" to the Goddess and God at my alter, kneeling in front of it almost in a meditative sense. Lights out, candles and incese burning.
That is basically how I "pray" to my deities.

I have an article about this on my website. It should outline my thoughts on this quite well. You can find it here. (http://www.geocities.com/betweenmythandmagick/magickandprayer.html)

I pray at my window at night. I lean out and breath into the night air, and watch my breath form clouds, and just talk to the sky.
Or I'll talk to myself/the Divine as I walk at night.
Or I'll stop under a tree, or by a placeof my past, and talk to the grass, or the tree, or the stars.
Basically, for me, praying is talking to anyone who'll listen. Sometimes I'll pray to the general Divine, especially if I'm feeling rather lost and confused spiritually. Sometimes I'll pray to a specific deity. I feel that any communion with a higher power is a form of prayer, really. So any religious person that speaks, vocally or internally, with a deity, prays.
I'm not Wiccan, though. I'm a witch. An eclectic pagan. A Celtic Kitchenwitch/Greenwitch, I 'spose. But that's my take on prayer.

I pray and when I do it's as if I am talking to an old friend, someone I have known forever and I am comfortable with. I simply voice my concerns, hopes or desires, or simply talk with the Gods in a personal way. It helps me sort through my inner conflicts and come to resolution or at least a balanced perspective. I pray whereever and whenever, the Gods are always with me, I carry them in my heart~

I'm not a Wiccan, I'm an Eclectic Pagan so I don't know if I can help but I'll try. I pray. I don't fold my hands or kneel or any special thing with my body. I never even did as a Christian. I just pray to the God and Goddess asking for guidance in my spirituality, protection of my family and I and I thank them for all they do. I'll do it whenever I feel the need. Although I do it reg. about once a week before I go too bed.
