We just got a trivia card set on love sex and romance. One of the catigories is on the language of flowers. I am finding this facinating. Does anyone know of a reliable source for checkiing this info? Does anyone want me to share what the cards say about this topic? This really is a facinating set!

Yes, please share!
The language of flowers has always been something I'm interested in... I only know a little bit about roses though, unfortunately.

I have found a few cards with flower language on them. So far I've found the following:
four leaf clover-be mine
bachelor's buttons- celibacy
bluebells- constancy
striped carnation- refusal
yellow roses- jelousy
white roses-faithfull/worthy
deep red carnation- "Alas! For my poor heart!"
narcissus-egotism
pansies- thinking of you
I'm looking for more these cards are really interesting.

Hmm. I've always heard that yellow roses mean friendship. I wonder if there is a place to look these up?! There are probably as many meanings as there are cultures...

I've always heard that Yellow roses mean friendship, as well.... that white mean purity/faithfulness, pink mean love, red mean passion.

Has anyone researched any of the others? I've been big time busy... I was hoping to look some of it up at work tomorrow. :) I'll be interested to see if I come up with more than one answer for any one flower.

I found a searchable index on the meanings of flowers on this website:http://florists.ftd.com/carolinas. When you get there click on "about flowers."
