For my nephew Ryan, who was seriously injured in a car accident on his way to work yesterday. He is currently in the trauma icu on a ventilator, has a severely broken pelvis, cracked orbital bone, and severely broken arm. They are waiting for the weather to clear to transport him to another hospital, as his injuries are too bad for the staff to handle at the hospital he is currently at (and they are the best in that area).I am waiting for word when the surgery will be, so I can go sit with his mom.
He just graduated from high school this week, and was signed up to join the army. Once he was out of basic training,he was going to send home $500 a month to help his mom, eight year-old sister (who has physical disabilities and is in special education), and four year old brother out.He has no medical insurance, and may have no home to return to when he gets out of the hospital, since the family was already in the throes of another crisis when this occurred. His hopes for his army career helping out the family crisis are now dashed:(
This young man has had so many things go wrong in his life! He is part Native American, and has had to face constant hatred because of the color of his skin, he's overcome learning disabilities, dealt with having his father abandon him and his mother when he was only two years of age, and many other problems incredibly difficult to surmount. Yet he has continued to have an upbeat, positive attitude, and would give his family the shirt off his back if they needed it.
He was so worried about his family, the doctors had to sedate him when he arrived in the emergency room, because he kept trying to get up and go home to them, despite his horrific injuries!
Please, if you have some energy to spare, please please send some Ryan's way.
Thank You
