Okay, I know how eager everyone is to get started. I was planning on posting the first lesson today, but that may be a little delayed, while we get some things taken care of first. A lesson will be posted this week though, so keep your eyes out for it. Also, there will be no lessons posted between the 18th and January 1st, to give everyone time off for the holidays. But you're more than welcome to post to the deck thread or whatnot.

Anyone who doesn't have a deck now needs to have one (a standard 78 card deck) by January 1st. You can get one from the Donation program or some members here have offered to give away some of their decks.

Okay, first off we have a TON of students in this class. I wasn't expecting nearly as many people as I got. I want to remind everyone who signed up that if you're taking part in this class I must here from you, and you must participate. There will be no disappearing on your partner half way through, unless there is an emergency. If you don't think you can handle that, then pm me immediately and drop out.

We have 50 members. Because you will be reading cards, I would like to pair you with a study partner, and someone you can practice reading for. First, I'm going to give you the opportunity to choose your own partner. Feel free to pm someone and ask them if they'd like to be your partner. I would like one person in the group to then PM me and let me know who you'll be working with. You have until Thursday the 16th to find your partners. If I haven't heard from you by then, I will assign you a partner on Friday the 17th.

I'm new to this site..and this is my first class. I am very excited about it!!

Amaythist, I like your style..sharp, organized and to the point.

I mispelled the name of my deck..it is the Rider-Waite deck..not the wade ryder..no biggie..just had to clear that up for myself really..being the perfectionist that I am! I would prefer if you partnered me up with someone...or if anyone is reading this that wants to be my partner..let me know.

In general, I don't get to the computer until very late in the PM..10:00 11:00 ish eastern time. I guess I should put that out there.

I'm the same way except I don't even get home from work until 12:30 in the morning. Once I get home, I'm up all night. I'd like to pair up with a night person since it might be easier to work with someone who is up at about the same time. I'd also prefer being paired up with a fellow beginner.

Okay, I have an idea....

If you want a partner and are too shy to go looking for one, or you don't know who will fit you, post what you prefer in a partner.... what times you're online, what days, what IM you have, how you prefer to stay in contact, and what level of reader you prefer to be paired with.
Only do this if you really have trouble finding a partner, though, please. :)

I guess I should also say that I am a night owl and I myself don't usually come online until 10 or 11 eastern time, although I'm not working right now and could go online earlier if need be. So another night owl would be preferred but if you can't find one it's no biggie...:)

I'm usually on in the daytime, but have been on in the evening occasionally.

My short bio.

I'm 30, male. I have 5 decks which I can use. I have the Sacred Circle deck, Fey deck, Dragon deck, Gothic Tarot deck, and the Faerie Oracle. But since this is a tarot class, I guess I have 4 to choose from. I would call myself a Beginner. Though I have done a few readings in the past.

If we have to pick one deck to use in this class, I'll pick the Gothic Tarot deck as its my newest and I want to work with it. But I'll be using the methods with my other decks on my own time. :)

I don't have a partner at the moment, but if someone wants to choose me, that is fine with me. I'm usually shy and don't go out of my way to assert myself. I need to work on that. :)

To all: I don't care :) I'm on all day at work and when I go home I have a broadband/wireless connection in my house so I can be online in every room! I'm totally addicted to the internet and I'm usually good to be only from about 5 to 11 or so (central time). I'm not certain that I classify as intermediate. I don't really know what I'm doing, it just sort of happens. I'm good at blending systems, but I don't really have a grounded knowledge of tarot, just the gut feeling I work with. Use your judgement Amythest, you've been doing this much longer than I.

As for info, I am on sporadically, as I have an intensive art class which sort of owns a portion of my soul. I'm normally on between 3-9 pm EST, and that is normally on one of the extremes (either three-ish, or nine-ish) I have AIM and email, and would grab Yahoo messenger if needed.

As far as being paired up with someone, I think I'd need someone patient enough to deal with my spontaneous schedule. Some nights I'm up until three in the morning trying to finish a painting, and my schedule seems to only work itself out about five minutes before I need to know. In terms of skill, I'd prefer someone with some knowledge of the basics of tarot, seeing as my form of readings are seemingly random. They work, but they aren't what people tell me to be orthodox. Someone with background may be able to put some method to my madness.

I also need a partner - my schedule is pretty flexible (I'm a university student) but I'm not a nighthawk (Eastern timezone). I'm intermediate and would perfer a partner who is as well (though this isn't a big deal), I'm using the Sasha Fenton Tarot, and am on MSN which I think would be ideal for doing readings as it is more interactive than PM or e-mail.

DarkHeart13....not only is this thread not for signups or requests, I specifically stated in the signup thread that sign ups are over. If someone drops out, and we are short partners, then you will be invited to join the class and catch up on the lesson's and assignments you've missed.
