Cancer strikes again

Please send healing/curing energies to my cousin Alvin Gene in NM. Some of you may remember a thread I started some time ago about his wife Charlotte and her terminal cancer. http://www.mysticwicks.com/showthread.php?t=45248&page=1&pp=10 Well, now Alvin has been diagnosed with stomach and liver cancer. We don't have all the details yet, as to whether it's treatable or not. I am just heartbroken. Charolotte died some 6 months ago and he's not even had a chance to properly grieve. Please, anyone!

Oh, my dear! How sad. As Semele said, maybe Charlotte's calling him and he wants to be with her. But that doesn't make it any easier for the folks who love him here on this plane.

<sigh> He found out he has adenocarcinoma. A very common stomach cancer. Tomorrow. Gene will find out if it's treatable. But after reading about it online, the prognosis doesn't look good. About a 50% chance to live 5 years. I HATE CANCER!!!

I guess common doesn't always mean easily treatable. I hope he pulls through the treatments with flying colors,and becomes a new survival statistic for them to hold up for others.

<sigh> Looking for a miracle. The doctor basically told him to get his life in order. Cancer has almost completely taken his stomach and it's in the lymph nodes too. :wah:

Well, just when things are looking the bleakest, hope shines through. I "accidentally" found this cancer symposium on TV this weekend. For the 1st time, a cancer treament/cure makes sense to me. Anti-angiogenesis. Basically it stops the blood supply to the cancerous cells. The cancer then dies leaving the normal tissues alone. I passed this on to Gene. He sounded so upbeat about it. This doctor has had amazing success with it. I believe this is the miracle I've been hoping for. Tomorrow Gene goes to a specialist in Texas. We'll keep our fingers crossed. Thank you to all those who've helped out and sent well wishes. I think it's working! :hugz:

Well, one doctor told him to get his life in order, another told him he'd have a slim chance of living a year with traditional treatment. He's trying some experimental stuff. I can only hope it works. I wish he'd try the stuff that I stumbled across awhile back, but it's his life, his body. I'll continue to light candles and send energies his way. I know miracles can happen. That's what I'm holding onto.

:hugz: I know how hard it is watch someone you know and love go through this. My Dad fought renal cancer for three and a half years. He had the kidney removed but it had already spread to his lungs and brain. He was given a somewhat new treatment, interluekin2 for six months and then the doctor told him to go home and enjoy what time he had left, maybe three months. That was in 2002 and he passed last November. But Dad was determined to fight it and he did up until the last few days. A lot depends on the person and their attitude and determination. Dad started trying alternative mediciene treatments and I think that may have had a lot to do with how long he survived.

Well, he is taking chemo and radiation. He has a 30% of it working. He was trying this herbal medicine from Brazil, however it was making him pretty ill. So, for now he's stopped that until the last chemo, which I believe is today. My mom has put him on a high alkaline diet (one of my suggestions). She said he's had a few good days lately. Eating more and not sick to his stomach. I'm sending her a book on alternative healing for advanced cancers. It has a lot of promise as well. I'm gonna light another candle for him this weekend, do a healing energy ritual. So if anyone would like to help send some healing, I'd appreciate it. :hugz:
