My SO & I have horrible luck at special times. Every holiday, every birthday, every everything we try to do when we should be together & be able to..........something happens.

His office is trying to send him to Seattle for Xmas. Fly out tomorrow, maybe fly back Fri night or Sat.

Please please please send some "knocking some reason & compassion into the bosses" energy ASAP! He works for a single Scrooge & a familied Scrooge who only care about the almight dollar & don't give a rat's ass about taking their employees away from their families at Xmas.

I do'nt want him to go. It's so hard all the time...can't we just have one weekend that things aren't falling apart?

yeah. They got a contract with a new company that has 300+ employees to be signed up by 1/1. They sent ppl last week to do this, but only about a third of the employees showed up to fill out their paperwork. There's no other reason for him to go. His close relative in Seattle passed away this past Easter. His ex & kid are in WI. His folks are in FL.......

thanks. I'm so depressed right now. He doesn't know when he'll be back. They are having trouble finding a ticket back on Fri.

this doesn't even feel like Xmas. it feels like.....nothing. like "why bother? it's nothing. i'm alone & it's nothing--just another day to fake it & pretend & why did i even bother decorating?"

i know it doesn't seem like it should be a big thing...like i should be far more understanding....but....

maybe i need to be medicated.....it's just tearing me up.

:hugz: I'm sending you positive energy and strength Hun. I know it sucks right now. But you are strong and I have faith in you that you will make it through this. Bosses like those your SO work for are just mean! We all know they wouldn't be doing it themselves if they didn't have anyone else to send. When I was a manager/supervisor I didn't make my employees do anything I wasn't willing to do myself which meant I worked every holiday that they did. And if it hadn't been for the company insisting the store be open or that it was a nursing home, they wouldn't have been working. I'm with Verthandi in hoping the ghosts of Christmas pay those bosses a visit, the more unpleasent the merrier LOL!

Hang in there Mab! Perhaps the fact your SO is willing to do these hard trips will pay off in the end with a promotion or another better job in the future! I'll even through in some energy toward that goal for ya.
