90% of the time I only eat from bowls so I really have no use for the bottom rack of my dishwasher... it seems like such a waste.... anyone know how to use the space more effectively? I know it's a dorky question, but I was just wondering....

put your bowls on a plate?.. or start eating from plates more :hehehehe: ... lol jk...
ummm...see if you can make it so your bottom rack can hold bowls... every dishwasher is differ'nt... can't you just place them upside down in there???...

So i assume that you don't do your own cooking 'cause the bottom shelf is where all my saucepans and baking dishes go.
I also put bowls, cups and glasses on my bottom shelf, you just have to creative in your stacking so that everything gets clean.
Another option is to build a bowl rack for your bottom shelf...if your so inclined :smash:

What in tarnation could you be eating all the time that would fit into one bowl? Doesn't sound too healthy... Unless it's like ramen with veggies and stuff... Still :geez:
Not trying to sound rude, just questioning....

Easy, simple and environmentally friendly. Keep a dish cloth by the sink Squeeze on a drop or two of soap. Swish it around in the bowl with some water. Rinse your bowl. Dry it and put it away. Time involved roughly ten seconds. Savings in utilities, a lot.

I don't think that it has to be taken as sarcasm. I mean, if I only used one bowl I would wash it by hand because it is a waste to not fill the dishwasher fully, don't you think?

A friend of mine, who is fanatically clean, puts all of her knick-knacks and washable decorations in the dishwasher...it does a very good job. Maybe the next time you only have a bowl or two, you could try that?
