Good question. I'm just trying to learn to use my pendulum (it hasn't exactly been easy for me). Can I ask you a related question... how many times has your pendulum been right? Could you share instances in which your pendulum has been accurate?
My arm gets tired easily. I usually rest my elbow on a table (and sometimes I even rest my hand against my head). Otherwise my arm tends to get fidgety and I get frustrated... is this okay?
What do you do to the pendulum between questions? Do you stop it or move it in a neutral direction, or do you just ask one question after another?
What of charging your pendulum? I've heard people talk of cleansing and charging pendulums being essential, but I'm not really sure what I believe about how pendulums work...

The blasted thing is never wrong. *LOL* It's actually really annoying sometimes how totally accurate it is. Not that I use it much mind you, but when I do, it's always right.
Like when I used it for the November election, no matter how much I wanted it to say Kerry would win, it just kept saying Bush would be reelected. :blech:

i have been using a pendulum for a couple of years now and this is the first time its been wrong although i think it may just have been telling me what i wanted to hear in this instance..
some of the things it has been correct in predicting were... it was correct in regards to the death of my grandfather, my falling pregnant the sex of this baby (confirmed by an ultrasound), my grandmothers recent bad health, the end of a 15 year friendship, when we applied for a place to live it was correct as to what application was going to be accepted.. and many other things aswell..
i usually rest my arm on something so i dont move.. i'm thinking about getting some sort of stand for it.. so that way i know for sure i'm not moving while using it.. you could probably try holding it with one hand and use your other hand to steady your hand resting both elbows on the table.. your arms would have to move fairly significantly though to effect the pendulum though..
I also us it with my tarot cards.. if i have a reading that is a little vague i swing the pendulum in an anti clockwise direction over the spread and ask the pendulum to show me the card of most significance to the reading/situation when it stops spinning it will pull towards the card..a couple of times it has pulled out of my hand..
I also at times ask my spirit guide to move the pendulum when seeking answers to things.. when i use it this was it moves very slow and feels heavy.. after it answers each question i tell it to stop and it does.. usually within 2 or 3 swings (if that makes sense) my pendulum swings front to back for yes side to side for no and around for not sure/unknown
I [personally dont find it makes a difference to how it works if i dont charge or cleanse my pendulum.. the most i do with it it occasionally hang it in the moonlight.. I think it is up to the individual person as to whether they need to cleanse and charge their pendulum..
I find that the more i use it the easier it is to use.. when i first started to use it i would ask it simple things just so i could get used to it.. they seem like silly questions now but it helped me to get used to using it..
the other thing i have found recently is that if i use my [pendulum over my tummy it goes nuts and wont give me answers to things and then my baby starts to kick the crap out of me lol.. i think she might like it and tends to influence how it moves..
i hope this has been helpful..
Blessed be ~Morrigan~

Hand in there chicks - she'll come out eventually. We want photos when she does!
Mine is pretty accurate but like Moonstone Dreams I rest my elbows on the table and my hands on my head. I tend to use a glass to dangle it into and differing number of taps on the glass means a different thing. If yours is going crazy then it may be that the baby is influencing it.
p.s. Is now a bad time to tell you I was 4 weeks overdue.

I've decided to put my pendulum away for the moment as i think she is influencing it.. it wasnt too co-operative last night again lol may be her way of telling me its now hers and i need to get a new one lol..
I'm sure she'll make a grand entrance lol seems like it would be her style.. it'll probably be on the living room floor or in the car on the way to the hospital.. i can already tell she's going to be a terror lol (in a good way though lol) if i go over i'll be at the hospital demanding an induction lol.. she has 10 days and counting lol.. there will definatly be lots of pics :)
