I have been having terrible nightmares for the past two weeks. I cannot think of anything that could be causing them, but they keep coming. Is there anything I can do to ward them off?

Well, some people would recommend dream catchers, others would tell you get your magickal juices on it.. I say embrace them! I know that sounds like I'm being no help, but I love all my dreams... as scary as they can get... they all tell you something..
Maybe you need to figure out what your dreams are meaning, and that will give you insight as to why you're having them... to me, that's more important than stopping them. :)
Besides, you wouldn't ignore the "Check Engine" light on your car by putting a band-aide on it would you? :p

I had something similar happen. I had a bout of nightmares that lasted over a week a month or so ago. Every night for a week I would have 1 - 2 nightmares, and they got more and more disturbing with each night that passed. Eventually, it got to the point where I couldn't stand it anymore.
Now, I loove dreams myself. I keep a dream diary. And I rarely have nightmares. I have some dreams that would be considered nightmares by the standards of others, but I consider those adventure dreams. However these ones were different...they stayed with me throughout the day and were just plain terrifying and outright...disturbing. I woke up from a few crying. Definitely not the norm in my case.
If they're really bothering you, as they seem to be...definitely do something about it. There may be some negative energies manifesting themselves in your home, and those negative energies can come through in your dreams. In my case, they did.
My suggestion is to do a good, thorough smudging. I used rosemary smudge sticks in my case, and after I'd smudged my room...haven't had a nightmare since. It cleansed my room of the apparent negativity that was plaguing it. ^_^
Hope that helps.

^^ ..thanks..
..if they're really terrifying, it might be a problem, but other than that I would recommend going with the flow of it.. I'm sure they'll go away soon. :)

Ehh I can't really answer that. I've had nightmares all my life. It doesn't matter which direction my head's towards when I'm sleeping, if I have a dream pillow/catcher, anything. I just always have nightmares. And if my waking life is going particularly well, my sleeping life is that much worse. It's like opposite sides of a balance or something...
