I am new to MW, and I am hoping someone can help me out. I have very vivid, odd dreams almost nightly - but I can usually figure out what they mean, and get on with my life. Well about two months ago I had this dream, and it seems to be haunting me. I think about it everyday and I get a scared feeling. I just can't make any sense of it.
Here is the dream: I was on vacation with my fiance, my sister and her husband. We were driving down a coastal highway (ocean on both sides, palm trees, four lane road with median) on our way to dinner. It was dusk, not quite dark. Suddenly the moon went through a full cycle rapidly, like three or four times. Like a really fast eclipse. Then the moon was black, but you could still see it, and it melted. Like it dripped out of the sky. People on the street were freaking out and I didn't know what to do. Then I woke up. It was scary - like the end of the world or something?
Please give me some insight. I've looked up moons and eclipses and the coast in dream books - but this makes no sense to me!!!

Hi, mother_faery! I practice a form of dream interpretation where I take the dream on as my own. I hope you find it helpful.
In my dream, I wonder about my own connections to the moon. What cycles in my life have I always felt are connected to the cycles of the moon? Do I feel that they're now moving too fast & that if it continues, they will fall apart?
In my dream, I'm also interested in my thinking, "I don't know what to do." The melting of the moon is a phenomenon that I could have no control over & wouldn't be able to do anything about, & I wonder why I think I ought to. I'd like to examine my feelings & belief around control & responsibility. Do I try to take on responsibility for things that are out of my control, & how do I feel when I can't change them?
Hope this helps some!

Actually that does help!! I hadn't looked at it like that. I very often have dreams about tornadoes, which I know is about my feeling of not being in control, but I hadn't thought about this dream in that context. Thank You!! :awilly:

I need more sleep. I read the part about the moon melting and my first thought was, "See? Told you the moon is made of cheese."

I have had 2 dreams in the past about the moon "blowing up". I couldn't for the life of me figure out what that meant. Then I found a used book at a gargage sale called "Transformation" by Whitley Steiber. In the book, he mentions that either he or his young son had the same dream about the moon blowing up. The dream really rattled them.
I'am not sure of the meaning of the moon melting.. maybe Mother Nature is trying to tell us something.
