Has anyone ever used a ouiji/spirit board? If so, what how did the experience turn out?

I just got one from a friend of mine cuz he said that after he used it, all these bad things started happening & a bunch of spirits were inhabiting his basement (where he used the board). He gave it to me & when I first picked it up, I did feel bad energy but my friends & I cleaned it out, so it feels fine now. After it was cleansed, we used it & it was a pretty good experience. The spirit pushing the indicator gave me a message or two from my grandmother.

But yeah, anyone care to share what happened w/them?

When I was younger, a bunch of us played around with a ouija board...and the arrow did move, but most of the time I think that someone was moving it - that's usually the case. Either way it has always freaked me out and I would never have one in the house. _inabox_

I've never used one of these. I've always got a very bad feeling even thinking about it. One of my friends and her siblings used it though and something told them that their grandmother was going to die soon as well as a couple other really awful messages. It's been a few years since then and luckily the prediction did not come true.

I think I may have killed someone with a Quija board. Not actually with the board...you know what I mean. Anyways, I still use them. I find them fascinating. :twitch:

ouiji boards have got alot of bad press, but i think they're wonderful when used in the right way...i.e. when you respect the spirits you are talking to.

My experiences with ouija boards have, in general, been quite bad. Possession, comas (yes, my friend actually went into a coma for several days), and all sorts of nastiness. However, all that happened when we knew very little about what we were doing. I think if you know what you're doing ouija boards aren't any worse than any other kind of spirit communication. I think the reason why ouija boards are involved with so many horrible things is that they are too easy to use. If you want to contact the spirit world psychically or by meditation or whatever, you have to LEARN how to, and that is usually (not always, but usually) accompanied by learning how to avoid the bad situations and how to protect yourself and all that. Any two fools playing around can use an ouija board, and if they happen to contact the wrong spirit they're really in the soup. That's my theory anyway.

I've had a lot of experience contacting spirits with a board and it was fun and exciting, which is why people like it. But like so many people have said, bad stuff comes from using it. A lot of really bad stuff, more often than not. Beware of lying and manipulation by spirits you think are good. I would stay away from it if I were you. It took me a long time after having put it away to realize how dangerous it was.

I use my board all time. As always, inexperience causes a lot of troubles and the Ouija has gotten bad rap because children and dabblers enjoy playing with them. With the proper amount of protection and respect, one can have wonderful results. They are a magical tool and should be treated as such, not like a toy. pm me for personal experiences.

My mom and grand mom used them all the time when I was little and years before that. They never had any problems.

Read this article about them on paganpath its on how your experience is what how you make it. I'm starting to agree with this idea and am going to break mine back out of storage and cleanse it good.

Well, the proper caution must be taken with a ouiji board like any other tool that aids you with speaking to spirits. If you aren't careful, you could invite in the bad with the good, as happened to my friends and I a few years back.

We had a circle of candles and a circle for protection, but we were working with the inexperienced who broke the circle prematurely and that caused some bad things to start happening. Thankfully, no one was badly injured but we did screw up majorly.

Since then, I've had mixed results with them. Rarely do I speak to any spirit but one: she was a little girl who lived in the house I do now. She died from some ailment (I think it was cancer, but she doesn't know for sure because she was only 4 or 5). I have gotten a bit of information about her and her family though, which was interesting.
