I am trying to think of menus for the eight sabbots.
What do you have for dinner on Pagan holidays? And, why are those your choices for that holiday?

Since most of those are spent with the group, it's generally pot-luck (although for Winter's Nights last year, I made a turkey, & the group brought the fixin's)...

I always go with what's in season for my area. There are several Wiccan cookbooks out there for ideas and reference.

I'm the only pagan in my little family, so although I dont ask my other-half to join in with any rituals I do, we both find it's nice to share a special meal (although to be honest I think my other half is just in it for the food :hehehehe: ). I'm bordering on being an anglo-saxon recon, so most of the food I consider to be special enough for sabbats is anglo-saxon oriented.
For a lot of sabbats I cook a traditional anglo-saxon pea-soup. I only make this on sabbats because (it's yummy and) although it doesn't take much effort it does take a long time to cook (about 3 hours). Its doubly meaningful for me because although its apparently an anglo-saxon recipe, my mother used to make it when I was a kid, and she learnt it from her mother who learnt it from her mother and so on... ;)
I also do hot-cross-buns at Eostre and on sometimes on May-Day too (because I like them that much  ), but I use a 'modified' recipe which uses honey instead of sugar (because the anglo-saxons didn't have processed sugar).
I also often do a roast dinner; chicken, potatoes, yorkshire puddings, peas, cabbage etc, sage n onion stuffing, gravy... but we have that on a lot of non-sabbat days too ;) I'm thinking though, to make sabbats more special I might splash out on an organic chicken next time
In September(ish) I make fresh bread for Hlafmęsse (harvest), and if I ate red meat I'd cook beef or lamb for the November sabbat, but I dont so I usually do a chicken dinner for that one too ;)
