Wiccan weddings

Hi,

Ive not long joined on here and have read some great stuff!! Ive always had some sort of belief net regarding earth bound religions such as wicca, pagen etc. So much so that after being with someone who I love for 6 mths, we wants to get married.

Having only been devorced for a year or so Im still not ready to take the * legal * plunge so to speak. But I would like to have a handfasting ceremony. Both of us are aware even though its not legally binding, its done with the same intent of marriage and should be taken as seriously with just as much careful preparation. I live in yorkshire and would love some more information on how I could get intouch with somewho who could do a Hansfasting ceromony around end of April time.

Any suggestions?

But do keep this in mind--handfastings are not JUST a marriage-lite ceremony. They are more than just a wedding...you are making vows before Deity in sacred circle. The words spoken within circle are more binding spiritually than a regular wedding ceremony.

Most don't go into the circle realizing the full intent of their words or actions. Vows made in sacred space have more consequences that most realize.

The full intent as hit me over the last few days as we have started to plan things. I feel this is the right think to do, and in the eyes of the goddess and deities, this will mean so much more than a traditional wedding ceromony. As im from a wiccan background but my fiance isnt I have sat and explained everything to him and told him that he should only do handfasting with me if he is willing to view it as a serious commitment.

If anyone has any ideas to throw at me, it will be more than welcome. Im both excited, nervous and exillerated all at the same time!![CENTER]
