View Full Version : A faery lives here
fallingwater

He's a large stony man, like a giant sculpture of a man brooding
or thinking. Sometimes he stands upright. He's always appearing
at the top of the steps, acroos the road under a street light, by the front door. He
follows me out in public. I see him 3-4 times a day. He's always dark brown/coppery
He watches me. He doesn't seem unkind nor overly benevolent. He's just there,
stoney and big. I don't mind really but I wonder what his purpose is. He's
only been around a couple of weeks. What is he?

Just saw him again outside by the car while I was walking the dog.
He is a giant, brown, coppery and blurry and rock like.
Like the edges of him are hard. Perhaps he is a giant from Norse Mythology?
I am beginning to study that.

Because of it's earthy, stony appearance, it sounds a lot like gnome of some sort.
It seems like you both have taken an interest in each other. Maybe you should try asking him what he's all about...see what he wants.
You may have found yourself an ally...

How tall is this man, fallingwater? Dio suggested a gnome, but they're pretty short. It's been a while since I've studied the fae (bad Verti!), but I'll see what I can do.

He's very tall; probably 7-8 feet.

Gnomes do not have to be those little things you see in peoples front yards. When I say 'gnome' I mean that it is most likely made up of earth elementals by it's nature. I reffer to any spirit within that is earthy as a 'gnome'. The fae can also be comprised of more elementals, but perhaps it is more of one than the other.
I've learned that the larger sized fae are actually younger. I suppose as they age into smaller beings, their power becomes much more condensed.
Also, what you see may be different than what someone else sees, so I suppose that it's appearance is subjective to some point.
What matters is that it has made itself known to you and you should see what it wants...having a fae for an ally is a priveledge.

That's not a gnome. Gnomes, while associated with the element of Earth, are very small. It doesn't sound like a faery so much as an elemental, or a rock spirit.

I think you are right. I have been working heavily with the elementals, but especially water.
I have been painting mermaaids and seas and air with watercolor. I have done a fire elemental also.
I haven't done any rocks or mountains lately. I also have no earth in my chart and suffer from instability and mood swings because of this I believe.
Maybe he is a reminder to include more earth in my life for balance. I am doing a painting of a wave and it hasn't turned out too good. Perhaps it needs some rocks to anchor it. But this man spirit is slab-like. Like a mountain. Like something I've seeen before but I can't remember.
Do you think this is why he's here. I've always ignored earth stuff and dove into the water, then fire and air.
His energy is quiet, steady, protective, watching.

:artist: I think youre right, a reminder of something forgotten. Earth is as important as the other elementals and it sounds like you have a real opportunity to discover something great. Make contact it may offer guidance you didnt know you needed. Its there for a reason find out what it is.

I'm a capricorn sun, moon, mercury, and rising... Need a little Earth in you? ;)
Seriously that does sound like an earth elemental or maybe even a troll.
My first thought was gargoyle but it doesn't have wings does it?

I thought Gnome is a general term for elementals of the earth?

I think you are right about that?
And I have not seen wings on this creature. He may have come down from the mountains. He looks like rock slabs and our mountains resemble that. However he's gone. I haven't seen him this week.
Now as for trolls; this fellow, (and he was definitely male,) was not disagreeable or scary as I've heard trolls to be. I think he was an earth elemental. It's just I thought the elementals were tiny, almost microscopic but perhaps they can be any size. This guy seemed to embody the earth element and didn't have much personality, (if at all.)
By the way, I am learning about Anglo Saxon Heathenry and I have a question. Did they believe in elemental beings? Not elves, or fairys but elemental spirits?
Anyone know???
