Ok, I haven't moved in.... over seven years, and have amassed a LARGE quantity of stuff in that time. I know I've got to get rid of a TON of stuff. We're going from a two-storey four-bedroom farmhouse in the middle of nowhere to a single wide trailor. There just is NOT enough room for everything...

I've got an idea of what to get rid of, even where to send it. Now my problem is, how the heck do I pack the rest of the stuff... I've got tons of boxes ready to go, but no motivation to get started, even though we pick up the keys tomorrow!!!

Any hints, tips, or tricks would be muchly appreciated!

Oh, honey, I am the MOVING QUEEN! My hubber used to be a consultant, and I think we have spend more time moving than actually livng in any given place! Now, we are more settled YAY! But anyway....My first tip would be that after you have decided what will go(as in not be packed; do it again. After packing several rooms, you will thank me! At first, you look and think "Oh, I cannot get rid of this" and then, 40 boxes, and 22 miles of tape later you go "get it out of my sight" so, it is always good to do at least a second, "getting rid of it" sweep before starting to pack

Next. I find it very frustrating, boring and tedious to pack an entire room at a time. So, what I did was to pack a section of one room, then move on to another room, do a section in there, etc. For instance, pack all the glasses from the kitchen, then, go to a room that has no(or very few breakables) and pack a section there before coming back and having to pack dishes and other breakables.

Along these lines, when it just gets tooooo mind-numbing, that is a good time to pack things like momentos and photos etc. Cause you can look at them and go "ahhhh, and oooooo" while you pack them.

Oh, and no matter how much yuou are tempted toward the end of your packing, stacking experience to stop labeling boxes, don't do it! Be as specific as you can stand....not just "Kitchen", but "Kitchen-glasses" etc. It will really save your sanity if you do not unpack everything the first night.

that's all for now, If I think of anything else I will yell!
Good Luck and congratulations!
