I have heard that high pressure steam cleans anything on a car or in the house.. How good is it to take year old paint off of hardwood floors??

hmmm... do you mean a flat steamer with a handle on it? That would loosen the paint but also some paint may stick on tight while other bits flake off leaving a mess...
