Distance healing can work in many ways and can be as comlicated as you make it. all you need is see them in your minds eye and send them the helaing energies. Many people feel that adding to this helps them in their work.
One way to add to this is to set up your altar faceing the directiont he person you want to heal is in. Then use a picture and anything else you'd like to raise energy. If you pratice Reiki or other hands on methods of healing you can use a doll to do your hand postions on and make-belive it is them and send them the energy. You can even do Reiki on yourself but in your mind be sending them the healing energy.
These are just a few ideas.

Sometimes I will lie there and intend that the symbols (if you're doing Reiki) be sent to the person. I simply focus on sending the energy and know that it is being sent.

You can also choose a proxy (including yourself) to take the place of the person you want to heal. Holding a photograph between your hands seems to work well, probably because it's a very direct connection with the person. I often use crystals because they're easy to hold and it doesn't take much effort. We all have the ability to channel energy through our hands... anyone can do this with intent. (Using methods like Quantum Touch, Reiki, visualisation, and affirmation can make it more powerful).

Usually, I affirm the following:

"I intend, by the law of correspondence, that this teddy bear / crystal / piece of paper / etc. represent ________ for the purposes of healing."

"I am sending you this energy with love, it is yours to accept if you wish."

Sometimes, if I am using a teddy bear, before sending I will run my hands in the air over the bear, and feel where the energy feels different. It's easier than it may sound. You may feel more vibration or density as you run your hand over the solar plexus, or the top of the head of the teddy bear... those areas that feel different are probably those that need energy. (I've used this method even when I had no idea where the person was experiencing problems, and I'm always surprised at my accuracy!)

If i was to use a crystal to represent them, would i charge it beforehand and afterwards?
I have been getting feelings of wanting to do distant healing and in my minds eye i have a crystal which i visualise releasing healing in whatever part of the person.Afterwards i see myself holding the crystal under running water. Not sure if what i am doing is right though.
Something i am being pulled towards though.

It depends on what I'm trying to achieve, what I'm trying to heal, how I go about.

I'm not a Reiki healer, though an energy worker. My training has been individual, without structure. Healing someone at any distance is all about connection. I've never used a proxy or a doll, I've used the power of my imagination.

A silver string around the earth to seek out and connect. A room or space to hold the sick and sometimes hold me too. A silhouette, a thought of mind, to represent the tortured soul. A gentle touch, a warming hand, to heal them, make them whole. The energy connects itself, all I do is guide. Here or there, it doesn't matter, every place is one. I touch the air, I shape a thought, and soon the work is done.

Xen..that sounds amazing.
It's not Reiki so much i'm interested in, just the ability to heal from where i am. I feel so much sadness and i want to touch them, connect with them in my own way..just a touch to show i care and am thinking about them.
I just need to know how to strengthen the ability.

I use my Reiki and my own general healing energies. even before i was attuned to Reiki I was an basic energy worker (really basic).

When I do distance work I send the energy to my Guides asking them to take it to them with as many details about them as possible. (assuming I've never met them, in which case I already have a link) "Please send this energy to ____, also known as ____, who lives in ____ and looks like ____" etc

I have practiced energy work for many years.Reiki fascinates me I must admit.The techniques I practice were taught to me by my Grandmother and Grandfather.I have always been curious about how others do the same things.I hope you do not mind me popping in from time to time this is a great section! By concentrating your energies on the person`s ajna chakra or on the Sahasrara chakra, and "drawing" with energy, the three sacred simbols: The tree of life(S22), the dragon (S4) and the spiral of life(S1).
You have to know exactly to whom you are directionating the energies, and to speak loudly in your mind:
I am directing the energy to help with the process of (what you want to do).

For example
I am directing energiy to help with the process of cleaning the aura of Margaret.

Towards the Superior Good of (the name of the person to whom you are directionating) Towards the Superior Good of all the humanity.

Be calm, relaxed, and BELIVE. It will happen.

The results will be spectacular.

The way I do it is to ground myself, focus my energy - and imagine it as a beam of light going to the other person, soothing and healing.

Even if you don't know what a person looks like, or know exactly where they are, imagine them as you perceive them. :)

I really want to get my Level I Reiki attunement now...but struggling to find a course near me..grr!!!Keep searching, i guess :)
