If you have the time, please answer the following survey to help me improve the class for both people who take it at MW and those who take it through my website.

1. What level of knowledge did you have about the tarot before taking the class? Was this class helpful to you? Did it teach you anything you didn't know?

2. If you were to break the course up into Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced, what lessons/information would you include in those sections?

3. What did you find to be the most helpful lesson?

4. What did you find to be the most helpful assignment?

5. Did you make use of the posted exercises?

6. How did you find working with a partner?

7. How was the pace of the class?

8. What did you like the most about the class?

9. What did you dislike the most about the class?

10. Is there anything you would change?

11. Assuming money was no object, would you consider paying for this course, and if so, how much would you speculate it was worth?

12. Any other comments?

Thanks so much for your help, you guys! :yourock:

I was waiting till I started on my final assignment before I gave you my feedback. :)

1. What level of knowledge did you have about the tarot before taking the class? Was this class helpful to you? Did it teach you anything you didn't know?

Probably begginer to intermediate. Helpful? Sure, and enjoyable. Anything I didn't know? Definitely. I can't say how much really, but the history of the tarot discussions in the class and patterns within a reading are something I am more knowledgable about at this point than I was at the beginning. Astrological and planetary information is also something I had not come across before, and I happen to enjoy planetary and astrological influences.

2. If you were to break the course up into Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced, what lessons/information would you include in those sections?

Beginner: Lesson 1, Lesson 2, and the games and exercises.

Intermediate: Lesson 4, Lesson 5.

Advanced: Lesson 3, Lesson 6, Lesson 7.

A few things here and there, like with Lesson 2 and 3, might go into other categories, however

3. What did you find to be the most helpful lesson? Hard to say. Either Lessons 3, 6, or 7 though-I can't pick which. :D

4. What did you find to be the most helpful assignment? Assignment 3 and 6 (again I'm torn).

5. Did you make use of the posted exercises? Every single one. :bouncysmi

6. How did you find working with a partner? Disappointing and irritating. I have not even heard from my partner since the first single card reading. There was never really any 'dialogue' from the start, so I had know way of knowing the accuracy of my readings and we certainly never discussed the lessons or their assignments. Maybe her life became super busy or it would have gone better with a different partner, I have no idea. I just gave up on that part of the class two or three lessons ago. [shrugs]

7. How was the pace of the class? Maybe a bit more time between lessons (a few days tops) to allow things to sink in better, but really have no complaints and felt it went along smoothly.

8. What did you like the most about the class? Lessons 3, 6, 7 the exercises and games-especially the games! I'm a hands-on kinda person, so any excuse to actually be able to use my deck was the best.

9. What did you dislike the most about the class? See question #6.

10. Is there anything you would change? Hmm... :hmmmmm: Probably more hands-on required work, exercises, readings, and so forth. I may have not gotten my fill though in part because of a vanishing partner.

11. Assuming money was no object, would you consider paying for this course, and if so, how much would you speculate it was worth?

Heck, if money was no object I would trade in my internet connection for a private jet! :tongueout

Probably anywhere from $25.00 - $50.00, but you really shouldn't trust me on this. I'm terrible in terms of money and the real world. I think everything costs too much, too little, or is just a pain in the ass.

12. Any other comments? Girls have cooties! Nah, it was a good class, and I rather enjoyed it. Other than that you can expect to be hounded for the rest of your life as a guinea pig for me to hone my tarot skills on. :muwaha:

Thanks so much for your reply, Aidron. I've been thinking about the whole partner thing, and I haven't decided if I'll be doing it again, or not. Unfotunately, people aren't reliable enough and I hate to see you guys get short changed because of it. I'll have to think on it more.... I expect that my website would be more successful with partners, because people tend to give more respect to something if they've paid for it.

Thanks again. :)

They sure do!

I don't think partners are inherently a bad concept, I either just chose poorly or her life became so busy she couldn't come around anymore-I'm not even sure if she is still turning in assignments. Could be a lot of things though.

1. What level of knowledge did you have about the tarot before taking the class? Was this class helpful to you? Did it teach you anything you didn't know?

I probably had a beginner's level of knowledge. After taking the class, I'd say my knowledge of the tarot is intermeditate. There were a bunch of things I didn't know, such as the wide variety of uses for the tarot. It was definately helpful.

2. If you were to break the course up into Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced, what lessons/information would you include in those sections?

Lesson 1, Lesson 2, Lesson 3-beginner
Lesson 4, Lesson 5-intermediate
Lesson 6, Lesson 7-advanced

3. What did you find to be the most helpful lesson?

It's hard to say. They were all preety good. If I had to chose only one, I'd chose lesson 3.

4. What did you find to be the most helpful assignment?

I think the final assignment has been most helpful, even though I not finished. I like it because I am able to combine the knowledge gained in this class and really put it to use.

5. Did you make use of the posted exercises?

I started to do the first excercise, but because of a number of things on my schedule, I was unable to try any others.

6. How did you find working with a partner?

There isn't much to say. He wasn't really into it and when I switched, I never got anything from my other partner. It's a great idea, it's just didn't work out.

7. How was the pace of the class?

The pace was great! Not too fast, not too slow.

8. What did you like the most about the class?

I liked the whole forum format of this class. I know all the classes to that, but if you were going to put the class on your site, I'd suggest you do it that way. I like it forum style because the student can easily ask questions without having to send e-mails of PMs.

9. What did you dislike the most about the class?

Not really. It was all preety good :D

10. Is there anything you would change?

I have a few thoughts for change:

1) In addition to the assigment choices for lesson one, I'd add an option to research the various theories of the origins of the tarot.

2) Adding a little more info on the different mystical systems the tarot is connected to.

3) Add directions to proform the various things the tarot can do.

11. Assuming money was no object, would you consider paying for this course, and if so, how much would you speculate it was worth?

I not really sure. If I were doing the class, I wouldn't charge anything more than $20.

12. Any other comments?
Thanks so much for you time and effort, Amethyst Rose! I really enjoyed it.

Hope this helped...

Here are my comments inside your post.

If you have the time, please answer the following survey to help me improve the class for both people who take it at MW and those who take it through my website.

1. What level of knowledge did you have about the tarot before taking the class? Was this class helpful to you? Did it teach you anything you didn't know?

Knew the symbolism, reading was not very good for me.

2. If you were to break the course up into Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced, what lessons/information would you include in those sections?

Beginners, basic card interpretations, tarot journaling.

Intermediate, sybolism, indepth interpretations, spreads

Advanced, own tarot deck design

3. What did you find to be the most helpful lesson?

Feedback from you and my partner

4. What did you find to be the most helpful assignment?

Partner readings, and favorite lest fav.

5. Did you make use of the posted exercises?

Yes

6. How did you find working with a partner?

enjoyable

7. How was the pace of the class?

The pace was fast only because I was so busy with work, but I doubt that you would have held the interest of most had it moved slower.

8. What did you like the most about the class?

Feedback from partner and you.

9. What did you dislike the most about the class?

10. Is there anything you would change?

The design of your own spread maybe should have had a little more time to accomplish. That one has taken me a while to think about.

11. Assuming money was no object, would you consider paying for this course, and if so, how much would you speculate it was worth?

I would if it had more personal feedback from the instructor.

12. Any other comments?

You did an excellent job! Thanks for taking the time to share your talents with us. I look forward to joining another one of you classes.

Thanks you guys....you're giving me a lot to think about. Yes, the course on my website will be forum style, like this one, and there will be many choices as to what level people can take...they can even choose to only take specific lessons, if they want to.

There will definately be tons more info. I'd go into detail in all the things you suggested, Anubis. I needed to condense this class as much as possible, to keep the course as short as possible.

I also need to think about how to incorporate more personal feedback from me, you're not the first to say this, Shatril. The problem is that with 50 students, it becomes very time consuming for me to work with everyone individually, however, I would love to be able to do that. I suspect once I get my website up and running and this is actually my job, then I can have time to devote an entire day to teaching.

Thanks again! :)

I want you to know that I think your feedback for a FREE training session was absolutely perfect. You had a lot of people, but if it is your job then you need to make sure that you give them the attention they are paying for. That is one of the things that other websites that teach tarot are missing.

1. What level of knowledge did you have about the tarot before taking the class? Was this class helpful to you? Did it teach you anything you didn't know? When this class first started, I considered myself a beginner with some knowledge of the cards. Now I consider myself somewhere between beginner and intermediate. I found this class very helpful, and it gave me a great push to work on something I've been meaning to work on for quite some while. It got me off my butt, and gave me a wonderful starting point. I can't really say whether is taught me something I didn't already know because I spent the last few years reading about tarot. It definitely cleared some things up for me and showed me a new way of looking at what I've seen before.

2. If you were to break the course up into Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced, what lessons/information would you include in those sections?
Beginner: lesson 1, 2, and the first part of 3
Intermediate: lesson 4, 5, 6
Advanced: lesson 7, and the symbolism part of 3

3. What did you find to be the most helpful lesson? I didn't really find one lesson helpful, but rather a mix of different ones. Lessons 3, 4, 5, and 6 were the most helpful for me.

4. What did you find to be the most helpful assignment? Assignments 2, 3, and 7.

5. Did you make use of the posted exercises? I did a little, but not as much as I wanted to. I do however plan on using them even once this class is over.

6. How did you find working with a partner? I was lucky and found a partner that I was able to actually talk with on a frequent basis. She never flaked out on me, and since we talked through IM, we were able to do practice readings on each other even when they were not due for any assignment.

7. How was the pace of the class? I think the pace of the class couldn't have gotten any better. It moved along great. It let people take their time without letting them get lazy.

8. What did you like the most about the class? I like how the lessons and assignments were clear cut and to the point. Everything had a due date, and you answered all questions very quickly. I also like that you gave feedback.

9. What did you dislike the most about the class? I know you had a lot of people in this class, and I think the amount of feedback you gave was amazing considering this was all done for free, but it seemed that certain people's assignments were commented on more than others.

10. Is there anything you would change? Nope, I think the class was wonderful.

11. Assuming money was no object, would you consider paying for this course, and if so, how much would you speculate it was worth? If money was not problem for me, I wouldn't hesitate at paying for this course. I'm horrible when it comes to pricing things, but I guess I wouldn't go above $50.

12. Any other comments? I think you did a wonderful job with this class considering how large it was. I can only imagine the time and effort you put into this class, and you did it for free. It was a great experience, and I'm sure you will do wonderfully with it. I can't thank you enough. :yourock:

1. What level of knowledge did you have about the tarot before taking the class? Was this class helpful to you? Did it teach you anything you didn't know?
I have a few decks of cards, and had notes... I had to really use my notes for every single card that I read. So, I was vey much a beginner. This class was wonderfully helpful to me.It made me look at every single one of my cards. I know that may sound silly, but lately, I have had so much going on, I haven't been self-motivated... I've been needing outside motivation for the first time, really, and this was wonderful.

2. If you were to break the course up into Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced, what lessons/information would you include in those sections?
Beginner: Lessons 1-3
Intermediate: Lessons 4-5
Advanced: 6-7

3. What did you find to be the most helpful lesson?
Lesson 5

4. What did you find to be the most helpful assignment?
Assignment 7- getting out there and getting me reading for other people

5. Did you make use of the posted exercises?
Yes

6. How did you find working with a partner?
It was nice- I wish that we could have hooked up more than we did, but it was great! I definitely loved the idea.

7. How was the pace of the class?
Perfect. I didn't feel worried about missing an assignment, but I wasn't bored, either.

8. What did you like the most about the class?
The fact that I felt that I could easily communicate with the teacher- like you weren't some far-off entity who wouldn't help me if I needed it. Your honesty.

9. What did you dislike the most about the class?
This might sound silly, but it was a little intimidating to be in a class with people who already were advanced tarot readers.

10. Is there anything you would change?
Not really- it was great. If I had to give an idea, possible creating different tracks of lessons for the different levels of knowledge and experience. This was a great beginners course. It would be great if I could move on to an intermediate course. Also, this way, the beginners wouldn't be studying with those who have already studied for a long time.

11. Assuming money was no object, would you consider paying for this course, and if so, how much would you speculate it was worth?
Oh, I suck at this sort of thing. Probably $10-25 or so?

12. Any other comments?
I'm just really thankful that you took the time to create this course :) :yourock:

If you have the time, please answer the following survey to help me improve the class for both people who take it at MW and those who take it through my website.

1. What level of knowledge did you have about the tarot before taking the class? Was this class helpful to you? Did it teach you anything you didn't know?

I was at beginner status. My knowlege was very limited and I learned alot from this class.

2. If you were to break the course up into Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced, what lessons/information would you include in those sections?

Beginner
Lesson1,2,3

Intermediate
Lesson 4,5 & with added or extended lesson on court cards

Advanced
Lesson 6 & 7

3.What did you find to be the most helpful lesson?

For me it was lesson 2. I had not thought about what particular boundaries I should set and I found this lesson helped..

4. What did you find to be the most helpful assignment?

The weekly tarot readings with my partner and Lesson 2 & 7
Lesson 7 was the most intimidating assignment for me but also the most rewarding. The weekly tarot readings really helped prepare me.

5. Did you make use of the posted exercises?

Yes I did!The one that I still do, is going through the deck quickly and thinking of keywords that are attributes to each particular card

6. How did you find working with a partner?

I found working with my partner to be a wonderful experience. We got along great and worked well together.

7. How was the pace of the class?

The pace of the class was fine and well organized. It was a tight squeeze with some assignments but only when my weeks got really busy.

8. What did you like the most about the class?

Working with my partner and getting feedback from readings

9. What did you dislike the most about the class?

I wish there were some extended class lessons with more reading exchanges with partners.

10. Is there anything you would change?

I would as Raven Reed already suggested add a lesson on just court cards

11. Assuming money was no object, would you consider paying for this course, and if so, how much would you speculate it was worth?

I would definitely pay for this course but I am unsure on how much I feel is appropriate.

12. Any other comments?

Yes,I would like to say that I really enjoyed your class. You have a very structured but flexible way of teaching that I found very helpful. I wish there could be a part two & 3 Intermediate & advance class also. Thank you so much for donating your time. _pounce_ :heartthro

1. What level of knowledge did you have about the tarot before taking the class? Was this class helpful to you? Did it teach you anything you didn't know?I was a definite beginner before this class. The class was extremely helpful. I knew the basic meanings of the cards, but I didn't know anything about the numerological aspects, or how to spot patterns in the cards, or about the opposing and reinforcing cards...all of that information helped a lot!

2. If you were to break the course up into Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced, what lessons/information would you include in those sections? In intermediated I might include an in depth study of the court cards, as that is one area I am still having trouble with. I don't know specifically what I would put in an advanced class as I am sure there are lots of things about Tarot that I don't even know exist yet...I'm constantly finding out something new.

3. What did you find to be the most helpful lesson?Hmmm...I think Lesson 6 is the one I keep turning back to when doing readings. All of that information was really useful. :)

4. What did you find to be the most helpful assignment? Ironically enough, the last assignment was probably the most helpful! Getting out there and doing readings for different people, and using different spreads probably taught me almost as much about tarot as the whole rest of the class.

5. Did you make use of the posted exercises?I did the first few, but then I sort of got out of the habit of checking that thread and only just noticed that more were added later. :bigredblu I'm going to try to do them in the tarot journal that I have started for myself.

6. How did you find working with a partner? It was nice to have someone around to read for that knew what to expect from me. It was kind of reassuring to read for someone who knew I was just starting out.

7. How was the pace of the class? I thought it was fine. The only time I had a problem was when my family all got sick in the middle, but I think I caught up okay.

8. What did you like the most about the class? I can't think of just one thing. I loved this class. :)

9. What did you dislike the most about the class?I can't really think of anything. I had to work hard, but I kind of like a challenge. ;)

10. Is there anything you would change? The only thing I can think of is to add more about court cards. Those still stump me a lot of the time.

11. Assuming money was no object, would you consider paying for this course, and if so, how much would you speculate it was worth?I would definitely consider paying to take this class. I've never looked into prices for things like this, but online like this, with interaction with other people taking the class, I think it would be worth up to $50. If it were paid, I think the classes should be smaller though.

12. Any other comments? I think you did a wonderful job considering how many people were in the class! I know I couldn't have kept up with that many students and homework assignments. _handclapp Thank you so much for giving up your time to teach us!

1. What level of knowledge did you have about the tarot before taking the class? Was this class helpful to you? Did it teach you anything you didn't know?

I was a complete beginner, I knew absolutely nothing about how to interpret the cards. I learned so much.

2. If you were to break the course up into Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced, what lessons/information would you include in those sections?

Beginner would include the history of the Tarot, the ethics, how to use them and the Major and Minor arcana.
Intermediate- More in depth of the major and Minor cards, simple readings and games.
Advanced more on the Arcanas and how to interpret cards, more complex readings.

3. What did you find to be the most helpful lesson?

The Major and Minor cards lessons.

4. What did you find to be the most helpful assignment?

Definitely the last assignment. I was really nice to do readings for other people other than my boyfriend. I really enjoyed it.

5. Did you make use of the posted exercises?

Absolutely.

6. How did you find working with a partner?

It was fine but we really only exchanged like 2 readings.

7. How was the pace of the class?

The pace was fine. I like timelines and people who stick by them.

8. What did you like the most about the class?

I liked the structure of it. There was no crap... Assignments were due by this day and the lessons were up when they were supposed to be up. No procrastination.

9. What did you dislike the most about the class?

The assignments on what my favorite cards were.

10. Is there anything you would change?

I would go more in depth on how to interpret the cards. But maybe it can be saved for a intermediate class.

11. Assuming money was no object, would you consider paying for this course, and if so, how much would you speculate it was worth?

I would say $30 to $50.

12. Any other comments?

Thank you Amethyst for taking us as your guinea pigs for this class. I wish you all the best on your site. Let me know when it is up.

1. What level of knowledge did you have about the tarot before taking the class? Was this class helpful to you? Did it teach you anything you didn't know?

I had basic knowledge of Tarot before the class. I had studied my decks and did some simple readings for myself. The class was helpful in that it presented a lot of valuable information.
The class definetly taught me stuff I did not know previously such as relations between different card positions in a spread.

2. If you were to break the course up into Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced, what lessons/information would you include in those sections?

I concur with Devi on this breakdown

Beginner
Lesson1,2,3

Intermediate
Lesson 4,5 & with added or extended lesson on court cards

Advanced
Lesson 6 & 7

3. What did you find to be the most helpful lesson? Lessons 6, 2 and 4.

4. What did you find to be the most helpful assignment? Assignment 3 and 6.

5. Did you make use of the posted exercises? Yep. I certainly did and enjoyed each exercise.

6. How did you find working with a partner? It wasn't too bad, once things settled down. Working with partners is very beneficial, but there has to be an expectation that the partners will actually work together. If you have a partner that drops or disapperars, it leaves you at a disadvantage. Not sure what can be done about that, but it is something that might need tackling.

7. How was the pace of the class? The pace was just about perfect. The space between lessons was adequate. Shorter or information lessons were given a smaller time frame to complete then those requiring more work or research.

8. What did you like the most about the class? The lessons posted and the answers that everyone provided were great to read. Also the lessons seemed to require a bit of work to present a thourough assiment completion, which is what I really liked. Sure, you could just give simple answers, but to get the most out of the assignment, you had to really put in the work.

9. What did you dislike the most about the class? I can't think of anything other then the partner situation. But that really wasn't anything you had control over.

10. Is there anything you would change? Not that I can think of, perhaps as mentioned above going a little more in depth into court cards and how they can sometimes relate to people in orgoing to enter the querents life.

11. Assuming money was no object, would you consider paying for this course, and if so, how much would you speculate it was worth? I definetly think that this course would be a success if there was a charge for it. I would hate to pick a price that I would think, but a nice figure would be $25 per person.. That way, the class doesn't look ultra expensive, but you are at least getting an amount that people should be willing to commit to the class if they pay. Its above the $15-$20 threshold which a lot of people seem to consider throw away money(if that makes sense)

12. Any other comments? Thank you for taking the time out of your schedule to teach this class. I found it very enjoyable and a great learning experience. Even more impressive was that it was done all on your volunteer basis and that is something we each should be grateful for.
