Please read this before you sign up for the class!!
Hello everyone, and thank you for your interest in the CoT Tarot Class!! I'm Amethyst Rose, the teacher, and this is round 2 of the tarot class. The first class went very well and I have high expectations for this class because of it. If you were keeping tabs on round one, you'll notice that I've made a couple changes to this class but nothing too dramatic.
The number one change is going to be the addition of a lesson on Court Cards. As well, instead of a partner system, you will be working in study groups, size depending on class size. You will also be given a bit more feedback from me, with each student doing at least one reading with me so I can evaluate you.
One other big change is the launch of my website, Second Sight Tarot. This site at launch (in two weeks), will have much more comprehensive Tarot Courses, for beginner, intermediate and advanced readers. There is a charge for classes, (MW Subscribers will recieve a 20% discount on all class and lessons!!!) however, if you want to learn more than you will learn in this course, and have a lot more time and freedom to learn it, then you can go there. (URL will be supplied after site launch.)
Speaking of freedom.... pay close attention to this next change.
I am very strict about participation and assignments being handed in on time. If you are not serious about this class, do not like deadlines or dont think you have the time or ability to keep up in class then DO NOT SIGN UP! I will be implementing the 3 stike system with this class. Anyone who is late turning in 3 assignments, without informing me they will be late, will be dropped from the course. I have no problems at all if you tell me you'll be late... I don't need a reason, either. I just need to know that it will be.
So, this is how the course is going to work:
I will post the lesson, and in the same thread you can discuss and ask questions. In a different thread I will post the assignment, immediately after I post the lesson. Lessons can be posted in the thread or PMed to me, whichever you're more comfortable with. In the assignment I will specify the due date, which can be anywhere from 1 to 2 weeks away, depending on lesson content and assignment difficulty.
All assignments will be graded with the letter system. Grades are given out according to the apparent amount of work put into the assignment. And how well you followed the assignment (not reading the assignment fully is my #1 pet peeve!!) If you plagerize, you will be expelled from the class.
I will post specific threads for exercises and study groups, and I expect them to be used.
With all that said, I really am a fun and considerate teacher, and I am positive that you will enjoy the class if you're serious about it. Just as my past students. :)
Syllabus and Signup threads to be posted shortly.
