Merkaba?

Has anyone ever heard of merkaba, and if so..could someone help explain to me exactly what this is? I'd really appreciate it because I'm confused! *Hopes this is the right place for this thread*

I have heard it loosely termed an "egyptian meditation" practice before.I do not know alot about it just heard things in passing from friends.
