runes MUST BE my weakest aspect
i have seen the posts regarding WUNJO
and GIFU amd the corresponding cards
in a TAROT deck, which i think is a great
thing to know ... but i work with candles
and colours (sometimes called "auras")
are there colours that correspond to these
olde symbols?
i need to make myself a new set of stones;
my last set went missing in the move 'cross
country :(

I'm not sure, but I think that tyr is associated with red, sighel is associated with yellow, boerc with green and hoel or thorn are associated with black.
But I'm not sure. I can never recall which runes are associated with which Gods and the colors of all of the Gods. I know that Thor is associated with red, Frey with green, and Hod with black.
Rick, what do you know? I'm *really* rusty on my teutonic mythology and such. The last time I really did *anything* actively with it was as a girl, then I was getting the legends as my bedtime stories. :)

Iss as orange? what? i'd think it would be white, for snow, or like dark blue or something. . . Skadi and Hel dont do orange, methinks *stops nitpicking*

I agree :) Each to there own applies here again! I first meditated on each rune to find its colour in my third eye ~ mostly they were red, purple, yellow or blue but Isa really stood out as bright white! :)

yeh. . . i often find that the color changes in terms of my use of the rune, or my mood. . . but the most prevalent color is red, not only because im a fire grrl, but because red was the traditional color not only for the runes themselves but for life, vitality, strength, etc

I have an old set of runes I made when I was still trying to determine my best path of divination. I used clear glass stones about the size of a half dollar. I painted them with the corresponding color that I had gotten from a book.
I also have a REALLY ancient set that my grandmother gave me which are clear glass beads about the same size, which have been painted on with black and then again over the symbol with gold. It was that set which inspired my own.
To be honest I have gotten the exact same answer from both sets. So I don't know if color makes a lot of difference!
HOWEVER, I am the last to give rune advice, my best sight is with the crystal!!

Wow, your grandma used runes?
Sounds like you're one of those hereditary witches!

Your runes sound so special, Chelle.
Ok, I've really been into color therapy for the last few months, so I have found color really fascinating. To be honest, I think that associating colors to your runes is very subjective. In one of my rune books, there is a nice color correspondance table. The table is kind of interesting, since it is not that specific. For example, fehu is light red; however, it does not actually say what shade of light red it is.
How exactly do you guys use the color associations for the runes? Do you take these things into consideration when you made them? Or do you use the colors for meditative purposes?
