Black Panthers & Meek People

I took what I believe to be my first successful journey to try to find my - I think the term is "Power Animal". I've been reading "Animal Speak" and have come to realize that, though I remember my childhood fondly (my parents were and are awesome), I was subject to a bully in the first grade and maybe before, but I can't really remember. I've thought that I'd long since grown out of her influence over me, but have long had a fear of being picked on, ridiculed, threatened and hurt. The time I spent being harassed and even physically abused by her apparently had far more of an affect on me than I've realized (I'm 33 now, so it's been a while!). I'm quite self-conscious and nervous when I'm in the outside world.

So. My point... In this journey, I met, much to my surprise, Black Panther. And she may be my power animal, long since lost to me, if that makes any sense. But in reading about "Black Panther People", they sound much more charismatic and psychically gifted than I believe myself to be. Has anyone heard of such a pairing with a Black Panther and a Fraidy Cat like me?

Well I was a meek person and I starting working with the snake and water spirits to help cleans this away (not easy and its still going on). I feel more true to my self than ever. This reminds me of a Santeria story I heard. While not a power animal it seems to be relevent. In Santeria everyone has a particular gaurdian Orisha or spirit. This is determne through divination. The client was very calm tranquil, sophisticated and overly polite. In his reading he was told that his gaurdian orisha was Ogun who none of these things. He is supposed to be very passionate unappologetic and warrior like ect.. The priest was confused so he asked about his childhood. The man revealed that he was like that as a kid but since he was from an upper class family his father didn't like his improper behavior and basically beat him until he was polite and proper.

My point is that just because you think that you are not charasmatic and psychicly gifted doesn't mean that it is not in you. You are probably a far greater of a person than you believe. You may discover that you like being charasmatic. In my own life I used to think that I hated dancing. Recently I started getting over that (NOT EASY) and I discovered that I can't stop dancing I love it so much. I was just too self concious so I kept telling myself that I hated dancing and sucked at it. You could offer the panther spirit some insence and ask it to help you. Feel free to pm me if you want. Thank you, Sage Rainsong, for the awesome post. I think I'll be offering up some Myrrh later on today and see where it goes. I'm feeling more and more drawn to the Panther - and it's funny, because in my brief journey, the Panther kept kind of morphing into a Leopard, then back. Then upon reading, I found out that A Black Panther is actually just a black version of various kinds of big cats, one of which being a Leopard. Neat!
