Here's a question that I've been battling with for a few weeks:

I'm a student, and I'm presently having problems with a few of my classes. This has been happening for a number of years, and now I'm on the brink of being kicked out of college. Needless to say, this is an extreme situation.

Is it wrong to do a spell to help me in school? Would I, in effect, be cheating? Would I be offending the gods since (in all honesty) I could probably do better in school if I was a more dedicated student? Where's the line between ethical and immoral?

Thanks,
~Etercion

Yes you would.

If you really want to pass you must work hard and do your best; you can't just expect the Gods to hand you passing grades because you don't want to try harder.

However, you can ask the Gods to bring you clarity or help you focus, or help you if you're having problems with a professor, and then do your best from now on.

I agree with Myst-- by admitting that you could do better if you applied yourself, you're basically saying, "I'm too lazy to do well in school; Gods, you do it for me." :D

Study! You'll be good. :)

I don't think it would be cheating if you asked/worked to make it so that you could think more clearly and learn better. But not so that you just instantly knew it, or you just passed tests magickally. . . . But I think that it's a noble thing to admit "hey gods, I need your help. I've been working hard, but I just don't get it. Can you help me understand?" and I'm sure they'd be happy to help! ^_^

Good luck!

I have to agree with what everyone else has said so far. To ask for clarity and focus is something you could think about. At least you are honest enough to admit that if you were more dedicated you would do better.

My recommendation would be to physically work a little harder and dedicate yourself more to your studies, but also ask the gods to help you focus and concentrate on what you need to learn. Crystals are also good to help with these things, I have listed some recommendations below:

Purple Fluorite (study, concentration & focus, clarity, comprehension), Pyrite (study, memory, concentration), Carnelian (concentration, focus), Selenite (concentration, focus, clarity), Sulphur (study, concentration, focus), Hematite (grounding, clarity), Danburite (memory).

Some of these are harder to find - but I would definitely try get some purple fluorite and perhaps some hematite - they are reasonably easy to find :) And of course, any of those others if you happen to have them, or can get them - carry them with you, wear them, sleep with them under your pillow, keep them with you when you study.

Good luck!

Doing magic to help you in school might manifest in many ways..........doing magic to help yourself is not cheating in any way ......IMO..........
If that were the case why do magic at all ?
dont do protection spells take Karate or carry a gun.... etc etc........
You might find yourself more motivated......
You might find that you really dont like certain subjects........
You might find that your interest in some things that you previously found boring
has sparked.........
I do magic every day to help me do my job
to the very best of my ability .. that involves remembering a great deal of information; having information at hand when I need it.... healing people, lessening pain for people , keeping the staff stress levels down...... etc etc
I dont consider that "cheating" and I dont consider "doing magic" cheating........
Magic is putting yourself more deeply in touch with the divine .... I dont see it as separate from life ...........
ABOVE ALL.....MAKE UP YOUR OWN MIND..... and pay attention to the results.......

As for using magick.... I'd go with maybe using some charm that helps you focus and learn, and well, this isn't exactly magic, but listening to classical music when you are studying really improves your learning, Mozart is really good to use here. :)
I wouldn't rely on magick alone though, if one wants to make it, one needs to put down some hard work and some effort. :)
Good luck

Those are all great suggestions, Etercion. There are things you can do to help you focus & concentrate.

You can try heating a bit of rosemary essential oil in a diffusor to help clear your mind & help you concentrate.
