Here is the list of who is in your reading group. You are required to do at least one reading per week for anyone in your group. However, this is working on the honor system, I won't be breathing over your neck about it.
If at any time, you would rather read for me than a member of your group, you're more than welcome - I'm a member of all groups. :)
Please try to get in touch with your group members and let them know when you're available for readings, and if you prefer IM or email or PM, etc. Keep in touch, they're there as your support group and to help you learn.
If I missed anyone, please let me know. :)

Silverwolfthorn - excused from readings, no access to tarot deck
Anyone can do readings for Silverwolfthorn, and she will send you feed back. Try to study with her, and discuss your cards....if you can email pictures to her that'd be great.

Just wanted to let everyone in my group know that I just got back from a brilliant vacation, so I'm sorry if I missed PM's this weekend. It might be another day until I am settled back into my regular routine. I hate unpacking! :)

Question--do we go with our intuition, or do we do both intuition and what our little guide books say?

I thought I had already posted about this in this thread, but I guess not....don't know where I posted it. Anyway, try to use your intuition as much as possible, if you get stumped then you can go look at the book.

I haven't heard from any of the members of my group. I don't know if they have dropped or what but if anyone wants to do a reading with me let me know. I am anxious to give it a try!!

If you haven't already, message the people in your group :)
I did, only 1 person didn't reply, but i've given a 1 card reading to the other 2 people in my group so far. :)

I looked at the grades page. Only one has a grade the other two are listed as late. I PMed the one person but haven't heard back. I figured if someone else was in the same boat or if someone wants to do an extra reading we could get together.

If amethyst rose doesn't mind, i would be more than happy to exchange readings with you for the reading groups...
I do the 1 card reading's as amethyst liked us to do for now :)

Hey there :) That's one of the reasons that I created groups, rather than partners this time around, so you'd have more people to work with if someone decided to disappear. Definately message all the people in your group. You can read for them, they just won't be able to read for you, because their assignments are late.
You're also allowed to do practice readings for anyone you want... other class members, other MW members, friends, family, whomever you like, just stick to the one card readings for now.

I will try to PM them. My PM to the one who is not late has gone unread. In the mean time I will contact FaerieGothMommy for a one card reading. I just wanted to get started with this. Now that I am free this summer, I was looking for something to do.

Bumped to delete the groups of people who have been dropped from the class. Only one group has really been affected. GiftOfTheGoddess and phoenix1010, let me know if you'd like me to merge you into another group or if you're okay with it just being the two of you.

A suggestion for group readings:
In our group we are each doing a one card reading for every member including ourselves. But, we have a twist! We are each asking a different question. :)
One of us asks about the general influences for the week, the 2nd one asks what an obstacle might be, the third one asks how that obstacle might be overcome and the 4th one asks for any other advice the cards may offer.
This way, we are each basically getting a 4 card reading, instead of 4 answers to the same question. :D

So, say i have bob, mary and jane in my group. I give bob a question i want to know about, say influences for the week, i give mary a different question, what do i need to do to overcome a situation and i give jane yet a different question like the outcome?
I'm just asking to see if i'm on the right tracks.

You could ask everyone a different question, but we are just doing a general reading for the week.
We are basically doing a 4 card spread:
1. General card
2. Obstacle
3. How can I overcome the obstacle?
4. Advice / Outcome
The difference is that each person has a part of the spread to do. So, I will read for all 4 members (including myself) for position # 1. Then another group member will read for all 4 members doing only position # 2. Then the third group member does position 3 and the 4th does position 4.
We rotate each week so that we each have an opportunity to read for each position in the spread.
Then we put it all together and turn ourselves about and yell "Hokey Pokey!" ;)

Do people think its as important to receive readings as much as to read the cards when learning & practicing. I started out thinking it mattered, then maybe it didn't as long as I was getting a chance to read for others and get the feedback, but now I'm not so sure. Am just curious what others think!

I think it is. When recieveing readings, you can go through the cards afterwards and see what you get from the cards and if it is similar/same to the readers interpretation. I think it helps with learning :)

Getting a reading is certainly not as important as doing readings yourself. Infact, it drives me up the wall when people interpret the cards that I pulled for them. Everyone's gonna have a different interpretation, because intution and point of view is different. So if someone does a reading for me then I make an effort to take their interpretation and leave it at that.

Just so everyone knows, I have moved one person (Nellie) out of her group and into another that I feel would be more ideal for her learning. I hope this is okay for everyone, let me know if there are any problems.

For somebody whos more established I can understand your thinking Amethyst, but when learning I'm interested to see somebody elses interpretation of a card, and how they got their idea!! Its all a learning curve!!
