The kingdom of God is inside you and all around you, not in buildings made of stone or wood.... Break a piece of wood and I am there... lift a stone and you will find me."

this quote changes from version to version on the internet and this is version is taken from differnt versions and kind of put together.
---------------
(3) Jesus said, "If those who lead you say to you, 'See, the kingdom is in the sky,' then the birds of the sky will precede you. If they say to you, 'It is in the sea,' then the fish will precede you. Rather, the kingdom is inside of you, and it is outside of you. When you come to know yourselves, then you will become known, and you will realize that it is you who are the sons of the living father. But if you will not know yourselves, you dwell in poverty and it is you who are that poverty."
"77 Jesus said, "I am the light that is over all things. I am all: from me all came forth, and to me all attained.
Split a piece of wood; I am there.
Lift up the stone, and you will find me there"
----------------------
so you have the message of the kingdom of god or the creator is not the sky of birds, nor the sky, nor the river or the fish for they would be greater then you if they were.
but the kingdom of heaven is within you and all around you hence it is everywhere.
know this and you will come to know the living creator but know it not and you will dwell poverty for that knowledge you have not known and so you see yourself as either a part of within or part of the all around you and not a whole being.
jesus speaking for the creator then said
the creator lights shines on everything, for everything comes from that light, for the creator is all.
that is why split a peace of wood and the creator is there
lift up a rock and the creator is there
jesus knowing then that the kingdom of god is within and without him must therefore be part of the creator. so in that truth he could say that I shine there as well. and leave it to us to come to same conclusion as well that we also shine there as well.
----------------------------------
while watching the movie the first time i seen it i said "get the hell out of here as if". this was before i even gave the gospel of thomas serious thought or even the gospel of mary magadelene.
one particular problem is that this wasnt' a real quote ...
but in truth it is a joining of two quotes into one.
one thing that it embellishes on is not in "buildings made of stone or wood."
which would then directly relate to the actual churches people would build over the ages.
but it wasn't until this weekend i took another look at it for I watched it this weekend.
indirectly the gospel of thomas infers there is no need for a church for the kingdom is within you and all around you.
(i swear i thought they said one point in the movie the church is within you and all around you eheh)
as you life a stone and the creator is there and break a piece of wood and the creator is there.
so how a building of wood and stone be an house of the creator when the creator is all over ?
in truth the creator lives within the house of stone and wood as well as all over. yet for those who say you can only talk listen to the creator in such a house is to seperate yourself into thinking the creator only lives in such places and its power is only powerful there.
there are of course other messages in the gospel of thomas.
yet that one hits me hard not due to the movie for it was a great movie in my view but because of spiritual crisses over my life time.
make me want to go out and read all the gospels of thomas.
anyhow the movie is not for the church but not agaisnt the church itself though one may think it despite the joining of the two gospel teachings into one quote with the addition of "buildings of wood and stone " for it true focus is that the creator is everywhere listen to it.
at least how I see it.
