Fictional ceremony help?

OK, not sure if this is the correct place, but I'll (try to) be brief:
In the 'novel' I'm writing, there's a ceremony to take place between three main characters: the leader and his two High Guardians--that is, generals/advisors. They are to be bound for life, a sacred committment between warriors never to be broken. So far I've gotten an idea for being bound at the wrist or something for a day, or sleeping under the same blanket as siblings would... but other than that I'm stuck. I hope this is enough info, if not just let me know... I dunno if anyone can help but thanks a million in advance! :)

A blood oath, maybe? Just seems like the obvious thing, but maybe that's not what you're going for. Good luck!

Exchanging blood would be good, or mixing it if nothing else. Binding of hands would be good, though that's more often used with lovers.

If there's an "old tongue" in your world, use that in the ritual. Also, if you want an exchange of items...

It woudl work like this.

Person A gives both Person B and Person C an item that he has held for a long time, perhaps with symbolic meaning. Person B would then give Person C and Person A something they've carried for a long time, and the same with Person C. Maybe if you then imbue those items... or something like that.

I dunno, just my insight.

Thanks guys! I'd considered a blood oath, but I've figured out that in their culture lifeblood is so sacred that it's only used when 'working with' the Divine, particularly their Goddess. I thought of the binding hands simply because two of the characters... don't get along very well... so by having to spend a day and a night basically tethered to each other would be a good opportunity to realize how they need each other as friends and warriors...
But using their language is a great idea--hadn't even thought of that. *sighs* creating a language is great, but can it ever get frustrating!
Although... it's cool to know that no one else knows what the words mean but you do! Lol!
