Surprise Surprise, Bush is hiding behind his power
"When the Republicans ran the Congress and Clinton was in the White House, there was no accusation too small for them to pursue," says California Rep. Henry Waxman, the senior Democrat on the House Government Reform Committee. "Now that President Bush is in power, there's no scandal so large that they have any interest in examining it."
What a shocker, A law stating that now Bush can block all inquiries. http://www.usatoday.com/news/washing...rest-law_x.htm Also nothing now can be said against him. It's now within his power to stop people from making fun of him? Thats what a president is, a joke bag. Oh hey here's another interesting piece.... http://www.utne.com/web_special/web_...s/10739-1.html It looks like certain Washington Big Wigs are admitting that the War was Wrong and that We Shouldn't have been there... Another surprise. Last edited by Aldrick; August 14th, 2003 at 05:44 PM. |

Please remember when posting to this forum that it's open to everyone, including people who need not be exposed to offensive references to sexual anatomy.

According to the first article, the law expired in 1999 (before Bush was elected) and that neither party opposed its expiration. Why didn't the Dems. do something while they still could? Why start crying when it's three years too late?

Bush re-instated the law. And no-one COULD object because the Republicans controll both houses now. Its interesting though that the repubs have no promblem with digging up dirt when a Democrat is in office, but as soon as their precious 'King of America' reins they decide that, once again, it's unfair.
Heh, unfair... Kinda like how Bush got into Office, he certainly didn't get the majority of votes, and the few he did get wasn't mine. He got in thanks to Daddy's connections, thats all. I also now nottice that the second article is no longer available to view. Lol Covering their tracks perhaps? |

Bah. If UTNE is a reliable news source to begin with, I'm a four-star general.
Clinton didn't get the majority of votes, either of the times he was elected, by the way. The popular vote doesn't determine the outcome of presidential elections, the electoral college vote does. And the reason the electoral college still exists is so that states with small populations still have a meaningful voice in the election for President. As I've said before, if Gore had been able to carry his home state, Florida's electoral votes would have been irrelevant.
