  • Need Help Designing A Tattoo

Hey guys, can you help me? I really want a tattoo, but I have no idea WHAT I want. I have a lot of ideas on what I want it to say, but I'm not a very good artist and my creative side is a little slow.

I want my tattoo to symbolize:

Wolves (a paw, a tooth, anything)
Nature (Juniper would be cool, but not necessary)
    Wind/Singing
Eternal Love (doesn't have to be hearts or anything, if you have another symbol than great!)
Paganism (Be creative, it doesn't have to be a pentagram... oh, and I'm not really a God/dess person...)
Colors: Any color, as long as they're a darker shade (hunter green, navy blue, etc...)

I think that's it... so, can anyone help? Even suggestions on where I should start would be appriciated.... Thanks guys!!

Would it be ok for me to send this info to my son? He has drawn some tatoos for his friends, may be he could come up with something you would like.

I've been doing that for over a year, but everything I see is either overdone, too big, or not enough, you know? I want something about the average/small sized, and I want it to be MINE.

What is it that comes to mind when you think of each of these things? Is there a colour or a memory or any single unifying factor that can be used to represent thses aspects?

When I think of it all together, I think of a wolf howling in a clearing in the middle of the woods with the wind rippling through it's fur... that's kind of what paganism means to me as well... but it's too big... and it's not... I dunno... "feminine" enough... I want it to be about the size of a coaster (you know, the thing you put your drinks on...), maybe smaller... and you can't get the quality of a picture like that in that size...

actually you can. many tattoo specialists are very very good at that sort of thing. I consider it just another aspect of Fine Art.

That actually sounds pretty good... a dark green leaf with a paw print... but what color would the print be, and how would song/love/paganism fit in... maybe two paws... to show togetherness... any ideas?

any nature thing can seem paganish. as to love, that can come from intense color, but to show the idea of a couple or togetherness may need another image. A duality aspect of some type. perhaps, over the paw/leaf you could put a constellation of stars. The lovers. They may have a different name, not sure.

I like the idea of two paws on a green leaf... what about a howling wolf head on a green leaf? that covers pretty much everything... or maybe two wolves howling together...

can anyone make up a sketch for me of that?

(P.S. Do you think more artists would look at this thread if it were in the art section?)

I can make an attempt at drawing two wolves howling together, on a leaf... may even add some kind of tribal design that would bring to mind the wind... Give me a few days to work on a good enough sketch... and I will get back to you, via this thread... and if you wanted to see if I knew how to draw a wolf howling... just check the Avvy... LOL. The picture of the Fae kissing the Howling Wolf's nose... an original by me... heh heh.
