I have never been a big fan of 15 bean soup, but what I have had wasn't very good so that may be why.

I always have been fond of a good soup on a cold day.

I make it really differently then any 15 bean soup you've probably ever had. Well it's different then I've ever seen it made.

I throw out the spice packet that comes with it. I mix two kinds of some sort of Japanese stock cube things. I don't even know what they are called because the writing is all in Japanese. But I'll attach a picture for the heck of it. I put in some green beans, some wax beans (so now it's 17 bean soup) and some white hominy. I use 1 package of brown sugar bacon, then I cook the ground bison in the bacon grease. I use lots of spices and blackening seasoning.

So tie me to a post and block my ears

I know my call despite my faults
      And despite my growing fears

But I will hold on hope
And I won't let you choke
On the noose around your neck

And I'll find strength in pain
And I will change my ways
I'll know my name as it's called again

Yours sounds really good. I can't tell what the Japanese stock is by the pic. but could it be kombu? The brand of 15 bean soup I've been buying the last couple of years doesn't even come with a seasoning packet, it's from Bob's Red Mill and I usually add diced onion, carrot, celery and garlic, sage & thyme (fresh if I have it) and a big old ham hock. Sometimes towards the end I'll add a little tomato paste for flavor and I'll use chicken base (bouillion) to season it. I'm going to add hominy to my next batch, I love it and don't use it as often as I'd like to.

By no means do I consider myself "Lady" anything.

Tonight I think it's some sort of soup.
