    Kinda a shame there's not more information available for mythical and legendary beasts. . .

    Faith is easy -- until the moment you actually need it.

    "Turning and turning in the widening gyre
    The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
    Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
    Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
    The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
    The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
    The best lack all convictions, while the worst
    Are full of passionate intensity."

          Here's mine:

          Tiger: Tigers are quick to act, subtle and inconcspicuous. They symbolize ferocity, royalty, fearlessness, authority, the warrior aspect, a lack of procrastination and will-power. They are connected to Duga, Shiva, Dionysus and Tsai Chen.

          Although he doesn't fit the mold at all. My tiger is lazy, sarcastic, and often surly.

                    Good Question.

                    I found mine through a meditation I was searching for my craft name and found them with my name, they led me to it.

                      I'm still finding all of mine (through meditation and clear signs of various kinds). Some seem to be incongruous with one another, like owl and dove, but that's just how it is...

                          Aw shucks!

                          Well, my grandmother nicknamed me "Hoot" when I was just a little girl. Maybe because of that, I've always liked owls, but they have approached me in meditation and followed me through the woods. And as I mentioned in another thread, I saw two of the largest owls I've ever seen (in captivity of the wild) on Thanksgiving night (in 2002) - they cirlced around me in the treetops, and it felt like a visitation. Recently there have been a few other occurances.

                          As for doves, well, in the mundane sense, they do not fare too well with owls! But they've been with me a while, too. Wherever I live, they're around my home, nesting. I think they're beautiful, and their cooing soothes me whenever I hear it. In meditation, my thoughts often follow a flock of doves.

                            Owl, Moth, Cat, Beetle, Spider and Snail.

                            To the world you may just be one person - but to one person you may just be the world.

                              I discovered that my animal guide was a raven while meditating. It's strange, because that's the last animal that I would have thought of at the time. You see, when I was a Christian, I often would poke fun of people with animal guides that were ravens or wolves, saying "ha..ha, you and every other wanna-be shaman!"

                              Serves me right! Now I'm doing a little repentance work by feeding the wild birds every morning and learning not to critisize people.
